Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Fan Meetup

Shibuya, outside the stadium.

"Why am I tying this on my head…" Tsuneo muttered, staring at the red ribbons Conan handed him, printed with "Go Yoko!"

Conan and Ran, both wearing similar ribbons, glanced at Kogoro, who was hyped up with Yoko Okino's fans, excitedly chatting.

"Gimme one!" Narumi said, taking a ribbon from Conan and tying it on.

With the Moon Shadow Island case closed, Narumi had reverted to casual male attire—jeans, white tee, and green jacket—looking like any young guy. No one could connect this gentle-smiling man to the skirt-wearing doctor.

"Ahem, Ran-neechan, didn't Uncle Kogoro say only ribbon-wearers can join the dinner?" Conan asked, trying to pocket the last ribbon.

"Yeah, Dad said a rich fan booked a restaurant for everyone," Ran nodded.

Tsuneo snatched Conan, grabbed the ribbon from his pocket, and tied it on. "I love Yoko!"

Conan smirked. Fooling Tsuneo was as easy as tricking Genta.

"Dr. Asai, planning to work in Tokyo?" Ran asked.

"Yeah, maybe in Mihama Town. My adoptive parents are there—easier to care for them," Narumi replied.

Conan tugged Tsuneo aside. "Heard the latest urban legend?"

"I'm not a kid chasing stories," Tsuneo said. He was still fixing a client's washing machine at Dr. Agasa's.

"A Dark Knight punishing evil in Tokyo," Conan said, giving him a dead-fish stare.

At Teitan Elementary, kids had ditched Kamen Rider for Dark Knight roleplay. Conan, roped in, had single-handedly "saved" Ayumi from Mitsuhiko and Genta.

"Did they make you wear a Batman costume?" Tsuneo laughed, gasping.

You're filming a crime-action-romance blockbuster!

"You'd better cool it. Yakuza are roaming in black with bats now," Conan warned, punching Tsuneo's knee.

After Tsuneo's one-night gang takedown, the bar incident's victims had their pasts exposed. People labeled the vigilante a hero; youths called him the Dark Knight.

Per Mitsuhiko, the Dark Knight used violence to crush evil, outshining some idols.

"So, I'm famous?" Tsuneo mused, stroking his chin, thinking his scavenged bat wasn't worthy.

"You…" Conan was speechless.

Those gangs? Even police struggled to touch them legally. Tsuneo cleared them, but…

Glancing at the pensive detective, Tsuneo chuckled. In the past, this fool would've demanded he turn himself in. Now, his perspective was shifting.

Yoko's concert started at 6 p.m., with entry at 4. After half an hour outside, Tsuneo's group lined up.

By showtime, the nearly 10,000-seat stadium was packed.

At 6 sharp, Yoko's vibrant greeting lit up the stage, her white dress dazzling under the lights.

The crowd erupted. "Yoko!"

As music swelled and lights danced, the audience hushed.

Yoko's talent shone—flawless singing and dancing.

For two hours, Tsuneo stayed focused, only distracted when Kogoro hugged and shouted at him.

After the concert, Tsuneo drove Narumi, following the Mouris to the restaurant.

"Mr. Tsuneo, are we really going?" Narumi, now in male attire, seemed socially anxious.

"Look, I haven't taken this off," Tsuneo said, pointing to his "Go Yoko" ribbon.

"Fine…" Narumi, pale from another sudden brake, retied his ribbon.

Over twenty fans, young and old, attended. With Kogoro leading, Tsuneo's group blended in easily.

The two-story restaurant wasn't fancy, but the long second-floor room fostered a warm vibe as fans drank and discussed their idol.

"That's Taku Maeda, president of Maeda Construction, a huge Yoko fan," Conan said, sipping juice, pointing to the man beside Kogoro.

"Good guy," Tsuneo nodded, eyeing the menu. The "retro" place was pricey.

Worthy of a gold-watch-wearing CEO.

Within minutes, dishes arrived—preordered via phone.

With so many people, Tsuneo restrained his monstrous appetite, but his chopsticks never stopped.

"To Yoko!" Maeda, face flushed, raised a glass with Kogoro, leading a lively group sing-along of Yoko's songs.

"Little guy, your singing's so cute!" Conan's unique voice drew young women's attention.

Seeing them swarm Conan, Tsuneo grabbed the fleeing Narumi and tossed him into the crowd.
