Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The First Meeting of Two Undercover Agents

After a hectic day of running around, Tsuneo earned 10,000 yen.

As evening approached, he unexpectedly received a call from Yoko Okino.

"Mr. Tsuneo, my friend's car has a small issue. Can you come check it out?"

"Of course. Send me the address, and I'll be there soon."

Not daring to keep his wealthy client waiting, Tsuneo hung up and headed to Beika Town.

In less than half an hour, he arrived at an apartment's underground parking garage.

To his surprise, within 24 hours, he encountered another member of the Organization.

Reina Mizunashi, dressed in a sharp business suit, was a weekend news anchor on the surface.

In truth, she was a CIA operative infiltrating the Organization, codenamed Kir.

"Mr. Tsuneo, what's this?"

"A wire. It's live."

"And this?"

"Another wire. Also live."

"Oh, I see."

Unlike the calm, smiling Reina, Yoko was unusually lively today, standing beside Tsuneo, eagerly learning about cars.

The AC system had a minor issue, which Tsuneo fixed in about 20 minutes.

As expected from a wealthy client, Yoko handed over 5,000 yen and even offered to treat him to dinner.

"No need," Tsuneo instinctively declined. With their fame, dining out together would likely draw a crowd—too much hassle.

"There's a great restaurant nearby that does delivery," Reina said with a smile, pulling out her phone, sensing Tsuneo's hesitation.

She assumed he was worried about paparazzi and scandalous rumors.

In reality, he was just concerned about not getting enough to eat.

"Come on, don't refuse! You helped me so much last time, and I haven't thanked you properly!" Yoko said, already pushing him toward the elevator.

Reina shook her head with a smile and followed.

She was certain Yoko wanted to befriend Tsuneo—otherwise, she wouldn't have called him all the way from Mihama Town. Whether it was a romantic interest, though, was unclear.

Oddly, when they first met, Tsuneo's expression seemed off—not surprised or pleased, but a fleeting frown.

"Must've imagined it," Reina thought.

"Thank goodness we didn't go out," Yoko said, glancing at Reina with a playful wink.

Tsuneo had just ordered every dish on the menu for delivery.

"Indeed," Reina replied, now in casual loungewear, nodding as she sat beside Yoko.

Sipping hot tea, Tsuneo faced the two women with a calm heart. If he was going to eat, he'd eat his fill—none of that "beauty is a feast" nonsense.

The TV played the news, covering the morning's convenience store robbery.

"Huh, isn't that…?" Yoko's attention snapped to the screen.

Though the surveillance footage was blurred, the gray work clothes and tool bag were unmistakable.

Reina's eyes narrowed as she watched.

Amateurs see chaos; experts see skill. Tsuneo's dodge-and-grab move was precise, his wrench strike swift and ruthless.

Most notably, his movements were minimal. No ordinary person, no matter how fit, could pull that off so cleanly.

"By the way, Yoko, didn't you want to tell me about that incident at your old apartment?" Reina asked.

"Yeah, that night…" Yoko began.

Tsuneo glanced at Reina, recognizing her professional instincts kicking in, gathering intel.

It made sense. Someone like her, navigating the gray zone between light and shadow, had to be cautious about everyone and everything.

But Tsuneo was clean—well, aside from that Porsche emblem at home. If she wanted it, she could have it.

As Yoko recounted her ex-boyfriend's crazed suicide attempt to frame her, Reina's indignation mirrored hers, like a gentle older sister comforting a sibling.

They chatted for 30 or 40 minutes until the doorbell rang.

"Must be the delivery," Reina said, grabbing her purse and standing.

In the living room, Yoko and Tsuneo continued their casual chat.

Tsuneo knew little about idol life, and Yoko wasn't versed in repairs, so their talk circled recent events.

"Could you two lend a hand?" Reina called from the entrance.

With so many dishes ordered, even her skills couldn't handle it alone.

"Coming!" Tsuneo followed Yoko out of the living room.

Wait—what was with this blonde, tanned delivery guy?

Tohru, are you that strapped for cash? How many jobs are you working?

"Thank you for your order!" After settling the bill, Tohru Amuro grabbed the six large delivery boxes, hopped on his scooter, and left with a cheerful wave.

At this point, Kir and Bourbon likely didn't know each other—at least, that's how it seemed to Tsuneo.

The first meeting of two undercover agents, happening like this?

He wondered if they'd recall this moment when they eventually worked together.

The restaurant Amuro worked for lived up to Reina's praise—the food was excellent.

"Haha!" Tsuneo nearly laughed mid-bite.

After eating his fill, Tsuneo left Reina's apartment. Instead of heading straight home, he jogged along the sidewalk toward Mihama Town to digest.

Given recent events, it seemed his knack for attracting trouble outdid even Conan's grim reaper aura.

Yesterday, he crossed paths with Gin and messed with his car. Today, he met two undercover agents with similar tastes.

Setting the Organization aside, there was the poisoning case, the suicide, the theft, the robbery, and even that cross-dressing guy. Never a dull moment.

"No, it's definitely Conan's fault!" Tsuneo shook his head, refusing to blame himself and tossing the blame onto the kid.

"I should visit a shrine sometime, ward off this bad luck…"

Late at night, Reina glanced at the sleeping Yoko, then took her phone to the bathroom.

"Any leads?"

"The info's incomplete, but he seems like just a slightly skilled repairman."

"Guess I overthought it."

Hanging up, Reina sat on the toilet lid, staring at Tsuneo's business card, lost in thought…
