After understanding this painful truth once again, he gets depressed for a brief moment.
However, he quickly pulls himself together.
The world really wasn't fair to people without divine backgrounds, Claude already knew this truth.
Even Mikoto knew it.
They had both been orphans, so they had a good understanding of what it was like to fight alone against "injustice."
Claude smiled slightly, after taking stock of the information in his mind.
He now understands his situation better.
As for the timeline, he literally just died a few hours after the entrance ceremony for the new academic year.
The main story literally hasn't even started yet.

The guild card with an ordinary appearance appeared in his hand, after Claude's command.

"I don't have any class, but my base stats aren't weak."
Claude's words didn't come out of nowhere.
The moment he summoned his guild card, he gained a more complete understanding of it.
First, base stats for humans average 5, except in certain cases.
For example: if the guild card owner is military, then it makes sense that their physical stats would be above that.
Claude clearly has more mana than the average human, according to the guild card information.
Besides stats, Claude has an empty class slot and 6 skill points.
So he has to choose a class to fully access his level progression and gain new skills.
'...The most logical class to take is adventurer, since there's no really interesting class like Archiwizard.'
The adventurer class is the job chosen by Kazuma Sato, the protagonist of the Konosuba universe.
It allows learning all skills that the class holder has seen demonstrated to help them learn it.
Kazuma was able to learn ordinary skills like one-handed sword handling, up to Lich racial abilities.
There was never a clear limit in learning skills using the adventurer class, but there are two conditions:
1. Having enough skill points.
2. Getting agreement from the user of the magic or skill during the learning process.
All this seems OP, doesn't it?
So why did Claude consider Megumin's or Aqua's class, aka Archiwizard and Archpriestess (masculine: Archpriest)?
It's because of the very nature of the adventurer class.
It pushes the user down a path of "jack of all trades, but master of none."
All the skills and magic that Claude learns will always be weaker than their original version.
Besides that, learning skills through the guild card will cost more skill points than the class that originally possesses that power.
That's why the guild receptionist had advised Kazuma Sato to abandon this class after meeting the prerequisites for another one.
"The only decent classes are priest and wizard, but they're not as practical anyway," he said after selecting his class.
'Well... I've got all this paperwork to finish before the end of the day'
Claude looked at the desk filled with documents, before sketching a self-deprecating smile.
He picked up his pen and started working under the identity of Mikoto Suho, without a shadow of embarrassment or hesitation.
Claude Moriarty's identity was dead after all.
He now has to live in Mikoto Suho's skin.

...
"Can't you take a break, sir?"
Five hours had passed since Claude's arrival in Mikoto's body.
He had worked diligently, until finishing the inspection of documents concerning club activities and recommendations from certain teachers regarding their programs.
Once he got up from his office chair, Mikoto's back let out a cracking sound due to the long sitting duration.
"Thanks for your 'concern,' Sona-san, but I'm already done anyway," he said in response.
Yes, Sona Sitri is in his office.

The young heiress of the Sitri clan had come to file complaints about three disruptive new students, but she didn't leave.
She just stayed to the side, after accomplishing the initial task of her visit.
The teenager's eyes simply observed Mikoto's hands, signing and drafting documents addressed to the Ministry of Education or from third-party individuals.
During all this time, Sona said nothing.
'She's a bit weird, but I'm a little worried about my reputation if someone walks in right now'
A teenage girl staying alone in a room with a man close to thirty...
Just thinking about it, Mikoto gets cold sweats.
But what can he do about it?
He's just a puppet leader in this establishment.
"Um... indeed, you finished this whole week's business in one day," she said, after inspecting certain documents on the desk without Mikoto's agreement.
A bold gesture, but it clearly shows their current hierarchy.
"W-what?!" Mikoto's voice didn't hide his shock.
He hadn't heard anything like that in his memory.
It took a brief minute of interaction between the duo to clear up the misunderstanding that the former Mikoto believed.
Sona had indeed delivered the documents concerning the report of new clubs and slight changes in the educational programs of certain teachers.
But she hadn't done it herself.
Sona had asked for help from a member of her peerage within the student council.
The latter had failed to notify the former Mikoto of the details due to negligence.
'Damn, a man died because of a communication problem?'
In his former life, Mikoto already knew that Sona isn't really the best at conveying real feelings or intentions.
But... Mikoto didn't know how serious it was within her peerage.
"Sorry again for the misunderstanding, Mikoto-sama, I'll have a word with the council members," she said in a professional voice, before bowing.
"N... no... no, it's not serious."
'Idiot, it's very serious.'
Mikoto wanted to insult and get angry now, as the former body owner's emotions were boiling.
He was only able to maintain this facade thanks to the Hypocrite skill, which made him play the role of a likeable person.
"Then I'm relieved... Have a good end of day." After one last politeness, Sona finally left the room.
Mikoto noticed that she had cast one last insistent look at him as she left, but he decided to put this matter aside for later.
He put away his things and left the office in turn.
'Now that I think about it... how was I able to get through that mountain of paperwork so fast?'
This question was quickly thrown to the back of his head as a mystery to solve later, but not a priority.
He has several things to check.
