"Yea your that girl from professor oak's summer camp your name was yea your name was Serena ivan am I right?" Ash asked after thinking for a few seconds at the time of saying her name it was just his great acting and come on how could he forget the girl he was simping on for 3 years in his teenage.
"Yea I am Serena the girl you helped in the forest when we were little" Serena said with her blush getting reder and a cute smile appearing of her face.
"Wait you are from kalos right?" Ash asked while making a face that made Serena believe he was on to something.
"Yes" Serena replied knowing ash's thought process.
"So you are the assistant of professor Sycamore that professor oak mentioned" ash deduced while mentally patting himself on the back for his acting after seeing Serena he was sure that she was the assistant but acting was necessary because he needed to make his traveling companions believe that he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer but sometimes just has some smart ideas.
"Wait so does that mean you are professor sycamor's assistant " Ash asked with surprised look.
"Junior assistant to be precise " Serena added.
"Wow but I thought you wanted to be a rhyhorn racer? " Ash said while gesturing Serena to walk with him.

After a second of thinking she replied "well it wasn't my dream my mom wanted me to follow in her footsteps and become a rhyhorn racer but before each rhyhorn racing session I would make up a excuse about not attending practice one of those excuse was that I was scared of pokemon mom saw right through it but one of her friends suggested she should enroll me in the pokemon science program under professor sycamor who was my mom's old friend with the main goal being to get me some exposure to pokemon after some convincing from her friends, my mom thought I was really scared of pokemon not making any excuses she enrolled me in the program I soon became his junior assistant with my main task being feeding proper food to the pokemon in the ranch and a few days ago professor sycamore wanted one of his assistants to go to kanto to collect data on a trainer's froakie especially collect really detailed data when it fully evolved into it's final form greninja and seeing the name and face of the trainer I instantly agreed"
While talking all this time the sun was about to set and they had already picked up the resources from the pokemart and the grocery store.
"So you came all the way here to see me?" ash asked with surprised expression.
"Well I did want to meet a old friend and return something of yours that I had and there a few more reasons to come here" Serena answered frantically tried to explain herself.
"Other reasons?" Ash asked noticing that her face had turned red again.
"Well I wanted to explore the kanto region and find my passion what really want to in life" and also express my feelings to you the last thing she thought in her mind while stealing glances at him
"Well I think I have asked you alot of question and I assume you also have a ton of things to ask me" Ash said while giving a apologetic look to Serena.
"No worries I do have many questions but the thing that is really peaking my interest are these" Serena asked while pointing at the bag of books in ash's right hand "I believe the ash I knew only cared about pokemon battles and not the textual stuff not being rude or anything but they don't really fit the image of the ash I knew" Serena teased with a teasing look
"Yeah just thought it would be nice to have some knowledge because it could prove useful in battles" and some books which are about this world's biology, physics and geography wonder if it could be different from my world the last part was said mentally
"I remember you used to run around in the ranch playing tag with some of the pokemon and not get almost any points in the quizs in the summer camp and to think that boy has grown to decide reading books" Serena emphasizsd the word decide while giggling cutely.
"Ohh I forgot to mention another person will be traveling with us" Ash said
"Who ?"
"Misty she is a water type trainer her goal is to become a water type pokemon master" Ash replied
Ash you need to get a book on English as well it's he with males and she with females and also misty is a pretty strange name for a guy Serena said while chuckling hiding her disbelief.
"No I am not that dumb she is a girl oh there she is" ash points at a girl a few block away but was unable to see the expression shift on serena
Don't tell me he already has a girlfriend thought with horror and dejactedly followed ash who was walking towards misty
"Hey misty" ash said while waving his hand as sign of greeting
"Don't hey misty me ash the sun is setting you took this much time just to buy a few things do you know how long was I waiting for seriously you are like a bride getting ready for her marriage"
"And who is she?" Misty asked while looking at serena
"Well she is the assistant of professor Sycamore that we were talking about and it just happened to be a childhood friend that I met at professor oak's summer camp" ash replied.
"Umm hi" serena said with a brighter mood than before while thinking well they don't appear to be talking like boyfriend girlfriend.
"Nice to meet you meet you my name's misty waterflower I aspire to be a water pokemon master" misty said while thinking why does she looking at me like I am trying to her boyfriend
"Oh yes nice to meet you as well my name's serena ivan i am a junior assistant at professor Sycamore's lab and currently trying to find my passion" Serena said while giving misty a bright smile
"Sorry misty for making you wait so long we could head to viridian forest tomorrow as it's already going to be night time soon it's better if we spend the night at the pokemon center" ash said with a apologetic look while think ohh well we are already behind by a day if we compare it to the original story but looking at one of the bags he was carrying ash thought still I picked up a map from the poke mart considering how many times we got lost in the original story having a map definitely saves time and because of that my chances of missing time bound events like meeting charmander,diging in the contest of fossil excavation to find rare fossil will greatly benefit my team.
