After finishing making breakfast and preparing Skye for school, and having him leave with Andrew, Riley wonders what Henry is still doing in bed.
The thought lingers even as he clears the dishes and wipes down the counter, his mind circling back to Henry and the unfinished edge of their earlier encounter.
The teasing, the heat, the way Henry's words had cut off when Riley walked away. It plays back in his mind.
He goes up the stairs, his footsteps slow, his hand brushing the railing as though the climb itself gives him more time to prepare for whatever mood Henry might be in.
Reaching the door, he pushes it open and, just as he suspected, finds Henry still lying in bed.
"Don't you have work to go to today?" Riley asks, standing at the doorway. His tone aims for casual, but it wavers the moment his eyes land fully on Henry.
