Riley looks up at Henry, his gaze steady, knowing that Henry needs to know the truth, he needs to understand that Adam is not here just for business.
Hiding the truth, would only come back to bite him. But even saying it feels dangerous, like stepping on a wire stretched too tight over a chasm he isn't ready to cross.
"Adam is not here just for that… business," Riley murmurs, his voice low, watching Henry's expression for any hint of reaction.
Henry's face tightens, muscles drawing tense lines along his jaw. He turns fully, sitting squarely across from Riley. "I know," he says simply, and the words hit Riley with a jolt.
"You know?" Riley repeats, incredulity threading through his voice. The disbelief curls through his chest like fire.
