"So after letting me kiss you, you let someone else kiss you again?" Henry murmurs, voice low but slicing through the silence of the car.
He doesn't move from the driver's seat, doesn't start the engine. He shouldn't care, not like this. But his hands clench the steering wheel until his knuckles whiten.
Every rational thought is buried under a surge of something he hasn't named yet. Rage, yes.. but it tastes bitter and sweet at the same time, laced with jealousy that curves his stomach into knots.
He knows Riley is drunk.
Knows that most of what comes out of his mouth right now will evaporate from memory by morning.
But his words carry weight.
