Chapter 5 - Gear riser and Bobby blues

Logic blocked the incoming bomb shot at the bridge with a wall of electromagnetism. The people watched in fascination at the bells hovering near them, but not making contact, preventing Explosions. Of course, Bobby's own bullet appears to be a rubber preventing it from being infected by all the magnetic way of allowing it to hit the high gear armor on the shoulder.

Zeta: (Are you okay?)

Logic: it's fine. I was sure to put the possibility of anti-electrical countermeasures within the parameters of my actions, trying to capture us.

Zeta tried to hold back her complete. Confused expression.

Zeta: But why would they give us access to their database if they clearly know that we're rogue and potentially hostile?

Logic: it's a classic strategy found in cold wars. Let them get free! Rein but make it very clear what you stand about the situation. Very confusing. If they don't know how they stand, they're less likely to try bold moves, not wanting to mess up the possibility of the strategies they have available.

Instinct: I don't get it. It sounds kind of dumb.

He said while making it very obvious he wasn't even looking at the fight staring over at the burger sign on the other side of the bridge.

Bobby fires another bullet at high gear, not bothering to dodge. He takes the bullet head on

Logic: rubber bullets. How cute! Kind of sad watching these silly games you play just to beat me.

With those words, I gear shoots an EMP wave at the mechanical amount, but it was unaffected, curious a blast of electricity and fine. Is it at the mechanical mileage, but it still isn't affected?.

Logic: Hey sis, so a front to nature and machinery is designed to resist electrical influence from the outside. How curious.

With that, high gear jumps from the ceiling with Bob's magnetically following in a line. He's in the lands on the wall. Same as the mount using an EMP field to stick to it, seeing this. Bobby Hunter pulls his gun and shoots a couple of bullets at high gear, who spots them and flies away like annoying flies.

Hi Gary, walk around the machine. I ain't get up and down observing every facet of it. Then, as a test, he won't use a couple of bombs at the mount. Bobby panics, and the mouth uses its tail and head to protect its Rider. The explosions go off, but the armor is unaffected, and the bomb shards fall down. Of course, it stops falling and returns to high gear when he activates his EMP field again.

Logic: You know, Bobby, you strike me as the type who likes to learn. So here are a few lessons for you. Number one, biology, many scientists believe that certain animals develop certain traits in order to resist things that they're more vulnerable to. Like for instance, animals with shells that resist either cold, hot, or in this case, electricity develop those types of armor because their actual bodies are extremely weak to it.

Bobby: Thanks for the lesson, sir. But I failed to understand why you would need to tell me something like that.

Bobby is immediately cut off when high gear launches, but destroys bomb shrapnel into the shell of the bomber mount. Bobby was startled.

Bobby: What the?

Logic: next lesson, physics, it is commonly believed that there are two methods to solving an obstacle, which is often considered option one. Go around the obstacle if you cannot go through it. Option two, and this is the more brute Force method. Create a path.

After saying those words, he shoots a highly condensed last of electricity at Bobby. Bobby jumps off the mount, realizing he is in a bad situation, landing on top of the roof. Meanwhile, it starts to show signs of being shut down while smoke starts to come out of its mouth.

Logic: and finally ecology, you should never leave mechanical waste and byproducts lying around. It's bad for the environment.

Worth that high gear. Use electromagnetism again to maneuver the shrapnel parts buried into the disabled bomber's mouth to lift it up and toss it off the building. Heading towards top gear.

Logic: You, failure of a hero, do us all a favor and dispose of that.

Breaking top gear out of his stupor. He grabs his gear riser, which is slightly different than high gears. The crank has a throttle on it. When he pulls the crank, he revs the throttle. The gear starts to move faster and faster. Then the three lights at the head of the gear. Riser start to light up one at a time. First, the red one, then the yellow one, finally the green one, then he lets go, and the prank falls back into position.

Gear riser: top speed!

Without wasting time, he gave it his all as he threw punch after punch, each punch emitting flames stronger than the last as he did. So the mass of parts that once was the bomber mouth. We're starting to heat up, giving off that glow. You se,e when you stick metal into a furnace. It grew brighter and brighter until eventually the machine would just melt into a puddle of metallic fluid. Realizing you should probably stop standing there. He abandons the rest of the mass of metal to the heated pie lake of metal. Hoping it'll resolve itself.

Saying the side high gear couldn't help it. Sigh. Then, using the electromagnetism, he collected the metallic liquid in the casing. Their names of the metal robot and the looks it all up towards hue's himself.

Then, using more electrical force, he compresses it further while the heat consumes the remaining parts. Realizing it's not enough juice, he reaches for his own gear and either pulls the crank up four times.

Gear riser: high voltage wave!

With that intense waste of electricity consumed, the machine crushes it down into a tiny marble. High gear sighs, drops it on the head of top gear, and proceeds to walk away. But then, Top Gear attempts to stop him.

Top gear: wait in high gear. I want a rematch!

He said with resolve in his eyes.

I decide something unexplained has happened. Both zeta logic and instant all synced up with the high gear suit without being prompted.

High gear: a fake gearing like you has no right to challenge me, let alone. A right to the powers you wield and still haven't decided if I'm to kill you or not.

After that strange outburst, he began to walk away again, only to be stopped dead again, this time by Bobby Hunter.

Bobby: Sorry, Mister Other Gear, but the thing is, now that the machines flopped, I'm not getting my bonus for the test, so I figured I might as well make sure I connect on that bounty. No hard feelings.

Over at logic inside the high gear armor being held at Gumpoint to the back.

Mia: Oh my, looks like high gear is in a bind.

Mia tried not to laugh at that. Sure, logic is being held at gum voyage, and the gun has rubber bullets, putting her at an advantage in the bounty honors. Clearly, they're underestimating the strength of high gear, even at 25% power.

Logic: Look here. I just so happened to hear about your little sob story. Honestly, I feel for you, but not much. I'd rather not flatline you here when you're minuscule attempt at overpowering me, so I can make you a deal, stand down. I'll help you get a nice little lawyer and detective to help you solve your little white problem. Sound good?

Bobby Frost, I've been bought for a moment. Still holding the gun right away there. He's 100 himself mini a man and it was clear just by the way he held himself that there was no winning this.

He lowered his gun and stepped away from high gear. In exchange, I gearlifted one hand, which then became coded in electricity until producing a business card that she didn't actually pull out of thin air, but in reality, it was teleported to the armor from the stage zeta had stored away in her bag. He then handed the card. Bobby.

Bobby: How do I know you didn't just pull one over on me?

Logic: The two of us will be secretly in civilian clothes. I'll introduce you that way if you feel that I've betrayed you in any way, shape, or form how about a week on a Friday?

The two shook on it, and high gear disappeared, but more annoyances appeared.

Instinct: Why is she talking like that?

Zeta: I assume it has to do with the other onlookers.

They both looked over at the opposite building, where two people, not even hiding their presence, stood watching the interaction in its entirety.

Instinct: We should just eliminate them.

Zeta: I love your ability for self-preservation and all, but it should be fairly obvious if they have the ability to not hide their presence. While being very obvious about their involvement in something, it's pretty clear. They're capable of disposing of anyone who tries to stop them, and we're not exactly at the top of the food chain.

Mia: That was awesome. Couldn't believe I'd get to witness High Gear in action for the first time. He's not bad.

She said that as she feverishly wrote in her notebook, she noted some interesting things. Things about high gear and marking off things like possible. Enemy wrote in things like run away experiment, possible Nemesis.

Seeing that Zeta chose to ignore it, while logic did the opposite and was very interested in that book. Meanwhile, instinct was...

Instinct: God, this is so good. This burger stuff is amazing. Eat more of it. In fact, order a couple more.

Logic: I don't think that's a good idea. These things are one of the trans fats and we don't want to grow out of shape.

Instinct looked at it.

Instinct: So we're 25% human and 75% gearion.

Logic: According to our medical profile, gearing DNA converts 75% of fat content into energy and 25% of all carbs into energy. Also, we're 50% gearion.

Instinct: who cares, that just means we can have about 10 more of these things at most.

Logic: first off, your math is skewed. Second, did you miss the part where we are converting that into energy, extra energy to be exact, and we literally just burned off a good amount of that stuff. But if you eat 10 of those we'd just double up what we burned off earlier.

Zeta ignored the two in favor of eating the burger instinct was right. It was good.

Mia: Since you're in a good mood at all, I feel that was a good time to ask this. So I'm like What do you want to walk to school together.

Zeta paused, tilted her head, then took another bite of the burger, and then shook her head.

Zeta: I mean, I have no problems with it, but as far as I know, I live on the opposite side of town, which needs to run down apartments, which is pretty far from the school. Wouldn't that be a bit out of your way?

Mia: Actually, that's perfect. My house is in that area too. I'll meet you tomorrow morning. First thing, don't go to school without me.
