Hazel's POV
"I guess it's just what I do." His reply was basic. "You're important to me and I want to make sure you're taken care of. I can't leave you to suffer." His words touched me deeply, warming my heart, even as a shiver of pain raced through my body when he went on to finish the cleaning. Despite everything that had happened and the dangers we faced and the uncertainties that were waiting for us, he was always there to take care of me and do what he thought I needed.
Why was he so nice to me? What was his intention? I felt like he was doing it for a reason. Now, no one would want to go as far as risking himself to just save someone who could obviously not be of any assistance to him.
I swallowed deeply as I stared at him. His eyes staring back at me with the same curiosity, but what if was he curious about?
