Chapter 110 – Punching Darui
"Stop right there!"
A sharp, angry voice rang out from behind.
"Oh? Darui, huh… What's the matter? Yelling my name like that?" Yusuke turned around, casually facing the dark-skinned shinobi approaching with visible hostility.
"I want you to take back what you said!" Darui barked, his voice filled with anger. To him, the Fourth Raikage wasn't just a leader—he was a symbol. An insult to Kumogakure was an insult to his idol.
"And what if I refuse?" Yusuke's tone remained calm. No aggression, but a subtle pressure laced every word.
"You arrogant—!" Chakra surged through Darui's body, raw and unstable. He was ready to fight.
"Darui, stop!" Samui stepped in immediately, raising a hand to intercept her comrade.
"But Samui! He disrespected our village!" Darui shot back, clearly struggling to hold himself back.
"He's our guest," she replied, voice tight and restrained. But her face betrayed the tension. She knew it. Darui stood no chance.
Even if they wanted to fight, she wouldn't allow it.
"Jōnin Hatake, please mind your words. This isn't Konoha," Samui said, her ice-cold gaze fixed on Yusuke.
"Oh, come on now," Yusuke replied casually. "I'm just stating the facts. Wasn't your last war all about fighting over resources?"
"You bastard! I've had enough of you!" Darui roared, drawing his sword and launching himself straight at Yusuke.
Yusuke didn't even flinch.
As Darui's blade pierced his body, the figure of Yusuke shimmered—breaking apart into a stream of light before reforming perfectly, unharmed.
"W-What the hell…?" Darui muttered, eyes wide. "You're a damn monster…"
"Now," Yusuke smirked. "Ever felt a kick moving at the speed of light?"
Before Darui could react, Yusuke vanished. In a flash, he reappeared right in front of him—his kick landed with a force that sent shockwaves ripping through the village, demolishing several buildings behind Darui.
The Kumo shinobi was thrown back like a ragdoll, skidding across the ground before finally forcing himself to stop. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he struggled to his feet.
"Hatake Yusuke! This is Kumogakure! Are you trying to start a war?!" Samui finally snapped, losing her cool.
"A war? Don't be ridiculous," Yusuke replied flatly. "You think your words alone can spark a war between two great nations?"
"You may be strong," she hissed, "but you're not alone."
Her eyes drifted toward Asuma, standing awkwardly nearby.
Asuma stiffened, realizing he was being used as leverage. His expression soured. He knew Yusuke was reckless—but this was Kumogakure, not their backyard.
"Heh… doesn't matter," Yusuke shrugged, grinning. "Besides... you're all weak."
"You bastard! You're full of yourself!"
"Water Style: Water Formation Wall!"
"Lightning Style: Lightning Illumination Wave!"
Darui formed hand seals with blinding speed, launching a twin-element combo jutsu directly at Yusuke.
But Yusuke still didn't move. "Still got fight in you? Fine, maybe I'll get a little serious."
He raised his right fist.
Fire Fist.
A massive, blazing fist of flames surged from his arm, colliding with Darui's water-based defense.
Idiot… Water beats fire, Darui thought, smirking internally.
But in the next instant, the flames roared through the water wall like it was paper, forcing Darui to use a Shunshin to dodge.
"Black Lightning: Black Panther!"
A shadowy, panther-shaped bolt of electricity exploded from Darui's body, its roar echoing as it shot toward Yusuke. Sparks crackled through the air, the attack radiating an ominous intensity.
"So this is Black Lightning, huh? No wonder the Third Raikage earned his title as the strongest…"
Yusuke tugged his blindfold slightly—not enough for anyone to notice fully, but just enough to peek out with one eye.
Within the subtle slit of cloth, the Rinnegan glowed faintly.
"Hmm... A Lightning Release mixed with Yin chakra," he murmured. "Not quite a Kekkei Genkai... but it's unique. Would probably suit Kakashi, actually."
Armament Haki.
With a low mutter, Yusuke's right hand was coated in obsidian-black willpower. He reached out—grabbing the Black Panther with his bare hand—and crushed it like glass.
Darui froze in disbelief.
He remembered. Back in Sunagakure, Yusuke had crushed one of his lightning jutsu with just Lightning Release alone.
Now—even his Black Lightning was useless.
"Damn… My hand's still tingling," Yusuke said with a smirk. "But that's enough out of you, don't you think?"
With a burst of speed, he activated Soru and reappeared right beside Darui.
Armament: Monstrous Strength – Chaos Strike!
His fist smashed into Darui's defense. The long sword Darui raised to block shattered instantly.
The blow sent him crashing into the ground, blasting open a massive crater.
Yusuke had held back. He knew full well he was technically the one in the wrong this time. He wasn't here to kill—just to teach a lesson.
He wasn't a bloodthirsty killer. He'd destroyed Sunagakure in a moment of wrath, the result of years surviving in a world that only knew kill or be killed.
He still had empathy. Some. But his reverence for life had long faded.
As the dust began to settle, all eyes were locked on the crater.
They knew he was strong—but this? This wasn't strength. This was domination.
To fight back against a village's elite like this, without fear, in the heart of enemy territory—it defied reason.
"Hatake Yusuke! Are you really trying to become an enemy of Kumogakure?!"
"You can shout all you want," Yusuke replied with a glare. "But don't throw accusations at me. He struck first. The fact I didn't kill him is me being generous."
He hated people who acted righteous—especially those who tried to twist the truth. Even if they were pretty.
"Let's go, Asuma," Yusuke muttered as he turned and walked away.
"E-Eh? R-Right!" Asuma snapped out of his daze and rushed to follow him. Inside, his thoughts were a mess. He's too strong… That was a full-power Jōnin, and he flattened him in one hit…
Samui let out a long breath as she watched Yusuke disappear into the distance.
Her chest tightened.
This man… really isn't afraid of war, is he?
"Get Darui to the Medical Division," she ordered the nearby Chūnin.

Meanwhile, deep within the Raikage's office, lightning cracked across the room.
The towering man clenched his fists, veins bulging with rage, his spiked blond hair bristling.
"That bastard! That brat from Konoha thinks he can do whatever he wants in my village?! If Konoha doesn't explain this, they'd better be ready for war!"
The Fourth Raikage was livid.
He'd heard the rumors about Hatake Yusuke. But he never believed them.
A kid. Just a kid. How strong could he be? Even Hashirama wasn't that strong at his age.
But now?
Darui—one of his top Jōnin, and a future Kage candidate—had been annihilated. Like nothing.
There were levels even among Kage. Some could kill fellow Kage like it was nothing. True monsters.
"But Raikage-sama," Samui said, entering the room, "if Konoha refuses to compensate us, we can't afford a full-scale war. Our resources are limited."
"Then make sure that brat never leaves this village alive!" the Raikage growled, slamming his fist into the desk. "I want to see... if Konoha's really willing to risk their precious genius!"
To him, Hatake Yusuke wasn't just a threat—he was a disaster waiting to happen.
If left unchecked, he'd block the Land of Lightning's ambitions for generations.
"We'll see, Namikaze Minato… Let's see how far you're willing to go for that child."
