Chapter 62 – Battle Against Namikaze Minato
"Same old boring day…" Yusuke muttered as he stepped out into the village streets. There hadn't been any missions for him recently—or rather, none that were suitable for his level. The monotony was starting to wear on him.
"Kakashi left early this morning too... probably already on a mission," he sighed, hands in his pockets, strolling aimlessly.
A familiar figure caught his eye.
"Obito?" he called out.
"Yusuke?! Crap, I'm gonna be late!" Obito yelped, running past in a panic.
"Hold on, I'll tag along. I've got nothing better to do," Yusuke said, casually catching up to him.
As they walked together, Yusuke noticed a bruise on Obito's face.
"Your face… what happened? You're hurt," he asked, his tone low.
"It's nothing," Obito replied with a forced smile.
Yusuke didn't press further.
When they arrived at the training field, a confrontation was already underway. Kakashi was squaring off against an older shinobi from another team. Yusuke didn't interfere—he knew Kakashi wouldn't lose to someone like that.
But when he glanced at Obito, he saw him clenching his fists, his eyes burning with anger.
"You bastards! What the hell are you doing here?!" Obito shouted.
"Oh? Look who it is—the Uchiha clan's loser," the enemy ninja sneered.
"Don't get cocky with me!" Obito snapped.
"What, you wanna fight? I'm always up for smacking down a brat like you," the man laughed.
"I'll be your opponent," Kakashi said, stepping forward coldly.
"Oh? The little genius from the Hatake clan. And here I thought only the Uchiha had guts. Funny, coming from a family of nobodies."
Then, with a twisted grin, the man spat out words that froze the air.
"Your dad was trash too, wasn't he? Hahaha…"
"Shut your mouth! Don't you dare insult my father!" Kakashi roared.
"Enough."
A cold voice sliced through the noise. Minato stepped forward, his usual calm now laced with anger. He deeply respected Sakumo Hatake—and that insult crossed the line.
But just as Minato was about to act, another man blocked his path.
"This is a fight between kids. No need for adults to step in," said Uchiha Gaku, a senior member of the Uchiha clan. His presence was heavy—he wasn't just any Jonin.
And then—
A suffocating pressure swept across the training field like a tidal wave.
All eyes turned toward Hatake Yusuke.
His killing intent flooded the space. Cold. Overwhelming. Absolute.
Yusuke hadn't planned on getting involved. But that man's words… had gone too far.
"Kakashi," he said, voice as sharp as a blade. "Take him down."
Every gaze shifted to Yusuke—his stance firm, his expression frozen in calm fury.
'This is bad,' Minato thought, sweat forming on his brow.
"Yes, Brother," Kakashi replied without hesitation, unsheathing his sword and moving in.
"You're insane!" the Uchiha ninja shouted, trying to back away.
"You insulted my father. That's a death sentence," Yusuke declared, his voice firm and final. "Even the Hokage wouldn't defend you."
"Yusuke, stop!" Minato shouted.
But the duel was already over—Kakashi had him on the ropes.
"Stand down!" Uchiha Gaku yelled, stepping forward, seeing his comrade about to fall.
"Interfere with my little brother's fight in front of me?" Yusuke whispered.
He vanished.
And reappeared—golden light flashing—for just an instant.
Gaku's right arm flew into the air, severed cleanly.
It happened so fast no one saw the strike.
"Aaaaargh!!" Gaku's scream tore through the field.
Obito and Rin stood frozen in horror.
In mere seconds, an elite Jonin lost a limb—and no one even saw how.
Yusuke dispelled his chakra blade and stared down coldly.
"You… the Uchiha won't forgive this!" Gaku spat, clutching his bleeding shoulder. The others behind him couldn't even speak—they were too afraid.
"Uchiha?" Yusuke scoffed. "Without Madara, your clan is nothing. I could erase you with one hand."
"Arrogant bastard!"
"If I'm arrogant, prove me wrong. If I don't get an apology from your clan… I'll make you pay for every word."
"You think you know the Uchiha's power?!"
"The Mangekyō Sharingan?" Yusuke smiled. "Still not enough."
Gaku paled.
"What…?!"
Even Minato was shaken. That name… it wasn't one anyone outside the clan should know.
"I told you. Without Madara, even the Mangekyō is just a toy. You don't know what true power is," Yusuke said calmly.
Kakashi stepped forward.
"Finish him," Yusuke ordered.
"Yes, Brother."
"W-Wait! I'm from the Uchiha clan—"
"Stop, Kakashi!" Minato blocked his path.
"Sensei…"
Yusuke's voice cut through again.
"Minato. Are you trying to become my enemy?"
The air froze.
"I can't let you kill him," Minato said, standing firm. "I'm a Konoha ninja. I can't just watch this."
"You think you can stop me?" Yusuke asked darkly.
"I may not be stronger than you. But I won't stand down. Let's do this, Yusuke."
Minato drew his special kunai—the marker for Flying Thunder God.
Obito and Rin gasped.
If Minato himself admitted he couldn't win… then just how powerful was Yusuke?
Even the Uchiha witnesses were stunned. Minato was already Kage-level—and he still acknowledged Yusuke's superiority.
Minato tossed his kunai in all directions, preparing for a full fight.
"I'll give you one chance," Yusuke said. "Defeat me, and I'll spare him."
Minato managed a bitter smile.
The next instant—Yusuke vanished.
'Danger!' Minato's instincts screamed, and he warped away just in time.
"You're the only one fast enough to dodge my Light-Speed Kick. Impressive. But what about the next one?"
He disappeared again.
Then reappeared at Minato's new location—mid-kick.
Minato barely teleported again, but Yusuke was already there.
The third strike connected—Minato flew back, crashing through several trees.
"Impossible… he's faster than Minato-sensei…"
In a world where speed is everything, Yusuke now stood at the top.
To anyone slower, the fight would already be over.
