Chapter 7
Hearing Chen Le's words, I flew into a rage, tackling him to the ground. My fists, filled with fury, rained down on his body. Even when his face was covered in blood, I had no intention of stopping. It wasn't until passersby saw us and pulled me apart that I stopped, but I still struggled against their grip, wanting to land a few more kicks. Only after I calmed down, looking at the motionless Chen Le on the ground, did my anger slightly subside. I just stood there, glaring at him viciously. A few minutes later, an ambulance arrived and took Chen Le away.
I paid it no mind and went straight home. Unexpectedly, Chen Le had reported me to the police directly from the hospital and even requested an injury assessment. Naturally, I was brought to the police station. When I heard from the police that Chen Le's explanation was that I had attacked him over a disagreement during a basketball game, I wisely kept the real reason for my attack to myself.
Not long after, my mom bailed me out from the police station. She was expressionless the entire time. Just as I was about to say something, she stopped me. I could only obediently follow behind her.
Once we got home, my mom said, "You've never had a dispute with a classmate before, from childhood until now. What happened this time? And you even injured someone."
"Mom, it's nothing. We just had a disagreement while playing basketball."
"If you don't want to talk about it, then forget it." Mom didn't press further. And it was true. Who knew me better than my own mother? I had completely inherited her personality: gentle on the outside, but tough on the inside. Mom knew I didn't want to talk. Even if she questioned me relentlessly, I would never have told.
A moment later, Teacher Qin and Xinran arrived. Teacher Qin walked over to my mom and sat down beside her, not even glancing at me once. Xinran came to my side, offered a few words of comfort, and then went home. Seeing the silent Teacher Qin and my mom, I could only go upstairs bored. Just as I was about to close my door, I heard Teacher Qin say, "I just came from visiting Chen Le at the hospital."
Hearing this, I left the door slightly ajar to listen carefully. "What did he say?" my mom asked, holding Teacher Qin's hands, clearly agitated. Although it was just a fight between kids, we were both over sixteen, so the situation could be as big or as small as one made it.
"Um... he... he just said to do what needs to be done, that we're all adults now." Teacher Qin stammered for a long time before finally saying this bland, slightly threatening sentence.
Hearing this, my mom's eyes gradually glazed over, and a hint of sorrow appeared on her delicate face.
"Sister Lin, maybe you should go see for yourself." Seeing that my mom hadn't spoken, Teacher Qin prompted.
"Yes, yes, I'll go right now. And... and bring Xiao Wen with me." My mom was obviously flustered. After all, if Chen Le really wanted to make a big deal out of this, my chances for early admission to university, civil service exams, and my official records could all be affected.
"Sister Lin, wait. You should go by yourself first. The two of them just had a conflict. If something else happens at the hospital, there won't be any chance to fix things." Hearing Teacher Qin's words, my mom agreed without thinking much. But then Teacher Qin added, "Sister Lin, there's something else. I don't know if you know, but I heard Chen Le's father is a high-ranking official in the capital, and his mother is an executive at a publicly listed company. They have both power and influence."
"When you go, no matter what he says, you must not act impulsively."
Hearing this, my mom was stunned. She hadn't realized Chen Le had such a background. But she didn't say anything afterward. To be honest, it was just a fight between kids, and they were good friends. She was still his teacher. He wouldn't go so far as to use his power to bully us, would he? Besides, she was going there to apologize.
My mom grabbed her bag from the coffee table to leave, but Teacher Qin stopped her again. "Sister Lin, you should change your clothes. It's better to dress more formally."
My mom was wearing a form-fitting dress, which I thought was perfectly fine. Although she hadn't put on makeup today, her naturally delicate face, well maintained, had a kind of natural beauty. While it lacked the stunning glamour of when she was made up, it had a charm of its own. "What's wrong with this?" my mom also asked. But she was pushed and pulled into the room by Teacher Qin.
"Sister Lin, it's better to be formal. I see you haven't put on makeup either. You should touch it up a bit."
And so, my mom and Teacher Qin bustled about in the room. What was supposed to be a simple apology now felt like they were preparing for a blind date, leaving me completely baffled. Still, I had a nagging feeling that something was wrong. I had to follow them later. Although I knew nothing would happen to my mom at the hospital, I couldn't help but worry.
My mom sat at her dressing table, putting on simple makeup, while Teacher Qin picked out clothes from her closet. In the end, she chose a casual style business suit, a pair of skin colored stockings, and a pair of 10-centimeter black high heels with red soles for my mom.
When my mom came out fully dressed, even though I saw her every day, I was stunned all over again. The OL (Office Lady) business suit, paired with stockings and heels, gave her an imposing aura. Her standard oval-shaped face, accentuated by exquisite makeup, looked gentle and graceful. Her small earlobes, without any jewelry, were already sexy and alluring. Following the line of her earlobes down, the delicate skin of her cheeks and her slightly pointed chin together created a beautiful contour. A pair of thin, crescent-like eyebrows arched elegantly. Underneath her thick, curly lashes, her almond shaped eyes seemed to hold a pool of spring water. Below her pert, small nose, her full, rosy lips glistened with a moist sheen.
Looking at my mom in the business suit, her white casual shirt was tucked into a beige pencil skirt. Her fair neck was bare of any adornment. My gaze traveled downward to her large breasts, hidden beneath her shirt, which seemed ready to burst out with her every movement. They were full yet beautiful, enough to make one's imagination run wild.
Her slender, willow like waist perfectly connected her large breasts and full hips. The pencil skirt ended just above her knees, perfectly accentuating her shapely legs, sheathed in stockings. She looked fresh, natural, and elegant. But the most stunning part was her full buttocks. They were large but not sagging, plump but not flabby, filling the pencil skirt to its limit. It seemed as if not a sliver of air could pass between the flesh of her hips and the fabric. They looked so full and soft.
She stood there, her body voluptuous and gorgeous, serene and elegant, exuding the charm of a mature beauty, like a perfectly ripe peach, so mouth-watering, making one want to take a bite. For a moment, I just stood at the top of the stairs, staring blankly, until...
"Lin Wen! What are you doing?" Hearing Teacher Qin's slightly annoyed call, I snapped out of it. Of course, Teacher Qin wasn't angry because I was causing trouble for my mom.
"Oh... Teacher Qin, aren't we going to apologize to Chen Le? I'm going with my mom." Hearing this, Teacher Qin immediately switched to a kinder tone. "Never mind, never mind. Let your mom go by herself. You just had a conflict with him; it's not a good idea for you two to meet," Teacher Qin explained. I, of course, ignored her.
"I'm the one who did it. I need to take responsibility. How can I let my mom go alone?" With that, I walked downstairs. Teacher Qin blocked me at the bottom of the stairs and said, "Xiao Wen, why are you being so disobedient now? If you're told not to go, then don't go. Sister Lin, why aren't you saying anything to him? We still don't know what Chen Le is going to do. If you go over there and something else happens, what will Sister Lin do?" Hearing Teacher Qin's words, my mom also said with a hint of anger, "Xiao Wen, listen to your Auntie Qin. You stay at home and don't go anywhere. Don't cause any more trouble for Mom." Hearing this was like a bolt from the blue. For the first time in my life, my mom had spoken to me like this. I stood there dumbfounded for a long while until my mom spoke again.
"Xiao Wen, be a good boy. Stay at home. Mom and your Auntie Qin will be back soon." Only then did I angrily turn and walk back upstairs.
"Sister Lin, I won't go. I just came from there, so it wouldn't be right for me to go again. You should go by yourself. I'll stay here and keep Xiao Wen company."
This was obviously Teacher Qin creating an opportunity for my mom and Chen Le to be alone. But I figured that in a public place like a hospital, even if Chen Le was bold, he wouldn't dare do anything.
"Alright, then I'll go alone. Don't worry about Xiao Wen. You should go home and rest." After my mom finished speaking, Teacher Qin smiled and said, "It's fine, Sister Lin. I'll still go check on Xiao Wen. You go ahead." With that, my mom walked out the door. Teacher Qin came upstairs and said to me, "It's okay, it's okay." But I knew this wasn't comfort; it was surveillance. She was watching me, preventing me from secretly following them. I figured this must have been Chen Le's arrangement. I ignored Teacher Qin, watching through the glass as my mom's car drove out of the residential complex, wondering what would happen between my mom and Chen Le at the hospital.
About half an hour later, there was a knock on the door downstairs. I thought my mom was back and quickly rushed downstairs to open it. But then I thought, that's not right. Our door has a password lock. And besides, Mom couldn't be back so soon.
The moment I opened the door, I was stunned. Standing outside were four police officers in uniform. The one in front took out his ID, held it up, and began to recite some official-sounding lines.
"You are suspected of intentional assault. Come with us." Hearing the officer's words, I instantly collapsed to the ground. How could this be happening?
"Officer, he and I are good friends. We were just playing around," I tried to explain. Just To Be Hero X - 23, Teacher Qin came slowly down the stairs and said unhurriedly, "Lin Wen, it's okay. You go with the police for now. Trust that Sister Lin can handle it."
Seeing the smirk on Teacher Qin's face, I finally understood. So that's how it was. Chen Le had probably deliberately let me see him and Teacher Qin having sex. Then, at the basketball court, he had said those filthy things about my mom to provoke me. After I attacked him, he called the police. Now, he was probably using his parents' power and influence to have me detained, using me as a threat against my mom.
I realized that even Teacher Qin's unusual behavior, the diary, and the phone were all deliberately designed for me to see. Thinking of this, an unconsciously vicious expression appeared on my face. I turned my head and glared at Teacher Qin. "I suppose Teacher Qin had a hand in all this, didn't she? I imagine Chen Le will reward you handsomely once he's out of the hospital," I said, deliberately biting down hard on the word "handsomely," grinding my teeth so hard I almost broke them.
Seeing me like this, Teacher Qin hung her head in shame, unable to look at me. She definitely knew about Chen Le's scheme.
When she was at the lowest point in her life, she had met my mom. My mom had guided her and even found her a job. For so many years, the two of them had been as close as sisters. To think that she would now scheme against my mother and me like this, and to be exposed to my face, she naturally couldn't face me.
"Officer, how is Chen Le doing at the hospital?" I asked. Although I had hit him hard, it wasn't enough to cause a serious injury. As long as he wasn't seriously hurt, I figured the most I would have to do was pay some compensation. Once I got out and told my mom the truth, all of Chen Le's plans would be ruined.
"He has a Level 7 injury for now. That's enough, let's go," the police officer said expressionlessly.
"How is that possible? Officer, you must be mistaken. I didn't hit him that hard. How could it be a Level 7 injury?" After hearing the officer's words, not only was I shocked, but Teacher Qin also quickly rushed over to the police and asked anxiously.
