Chapter 36 - Aetheria - The First Sigil

The quiet rustle of parchment echoed through the grand study. Towering shelves of scrolls, tomes, and metallic blueprints circled the room like a library designed by gods. In the center sat Solace, cross-legged on an enchanted cushion, eyes glowing faintly with Abyssal light.

One final book closed with a firm clap of leather and dust.

"Hey," he said—not aloud, but within.

There was a pause.

[Umm… me?]

The familiar mechanical female voice rang inside his mind—precise, emotionless, synthetic.

Solace rolled his shoulders.

"Yes, you. Who else would I be talking about?"

He leaned back slightly, looking toward the window, mana-laced sunlight filtering through carved crystal panes.

"I've been thinking about the name I wanted to give you."

The system went silent.

"You know," he continued thoughtfully, "I'm not a complete idiot. After all these years… I've figured it out."

He turned his gaze inward, into the dark sea of his spiritual consciousness—where data streams floated like stars.

"You're not just a system."

He stood slowly, brushing dust off his robes.

"I won't press you to explain everything now. I know I'll need more strength before that door opens."

"But since you allowed me to name you…"

He closed his eyes, breath steady.

Then I'll call you… Aetheria."

Deep within his sea of consciousness, beyond the veil of code and mana, she stirred.

She lay on a crystalline couch, reclining like a queen. Her skin shimmered like starlight; her eyes, twin galaxies. Her smile—gentle, longing, and eternal—broke fully into tears.

The mechanical coldness was gone.

She spoke—not with numbers, but with feeling.

A voice warm, seductive, and undeniably alive.

"Thank you, my Solace~"

Solace's body stilled, his eyes opening wide.

"What the—?"

Then, without warning, a series of glowing prompts filled his vision.

[System is now Fully Unlocked.]

[Supreme Assassin System is evolving...]

[System of Solace — All functions now available.]

[Unlocked Functions:]

Desired System Evolution

Harem

Absolute Gacha

[1x Desired System Evolution Available]

[1x Absolute Gacha Available]

Solace blinked.

"Eh…? Where did all this come from?"

The voice returned—hers, not the cold echo of before. A voice with shape, presence, intent.

"Naming me was the final key. Everything before… was just the prologue."

He could hear the smile in her words.

"The Desired Evolution function will appear with each new realm you ascend to. As for the Absolute Gacha... it holds items not bound to worlds. Items capable of destroying universes—or rewriting them."

"This first one is free. But the others?" She chuckled, low and sweet. "Well… the tasks you'll need to earn those are... deliciously difficult."

Solace's grin widened slowly, a spark of wild curiosity igniting in his chest.

"Shit, roll the Gacha now."

As the light from the Absolute Gacha spiraled into Solace's consciousness, the stars did not shimmer—they trembled.

Something vast and ancient, older than memory, descended.

It was not shaped.

It was not seen.

It simply was.

A single symbol, burned into eternity itself—formed before the idea of form existed.

The First Sigil.

It hovered before Solace like a judgment. Then it struck him—not like a weapon, but a seal being undone.

The world groaned.

Every natural law around him dimmed for a heartbeat—then flared back into life, as if recognizing him anew.

He gasped.

His body didn't change.

His core didn't glow.

But within him, a boundary shattered.

Something immeasurable opened.

Potential—true, boundless potential—now flowed freely within him, no longer hemmed in by bloodline, race, or path.

Even Gaia stirred from her idle lounging outside the manor. Her head tilted sharply. Her expression unreadable.

"...He has touched the one thing even the gods fear."

Aetheria spoke softly, with reverence.

"You did not evolve, Solace. You simply became... unbound."

[Ding! You have acquired The First Sigil]

[The First Sigil

Tier: Absolute

Type: Conceptual Key/ Primordial Seal

Origin: Unknown. Believed to be the first mark etched into existence before time, space, or law. Not crafted but discovered by the Void itself.

-The First Sigil is not a tool, artifact, or relic. It is a primordial potential lock, a concept once sealed by the Creator Realms to prevent any being from surpassing the limits of structure and stability. It governs the Law of Potentiality, the invisible ceiling placed on every existence—mortal, divine, or ascendant.

Owning it does not evolve the bearer.

It removes the concept of limit from them.

It is the authority to exceed the shape of all known paths.

Effects

Ceiling less Core: All limitations imposed by race, realm, bloodline, or world are nullified. The user no longer has a "maximum" for growth, comprehension, or Law resonance.

Potential Overflow: The bearer's base potential expands infinitely, enabling techniques, affinities, or conceptual integrations normally inaccessible—even to Ancients and Divines.

Unchained Resonance: Bearer can interface with laws beyond current comprehension. Allows "tuning" to Laws that should be inaccessible by mortal or immortal means.

Supreme Parallelism: Increases mastery speed, talent efficiency, and comprehension by a multiplier that grows exponentially with each cultivation realm.

Hidden Effect – "Precursor's Silence"

The First Sigil marks the bearer as a Potential Precursor—a theoretical state of being that no world, law, or deity can define or confine.

As such, it passively obscures the bearer from divine sight, prophecy, soul-tracking, karmic webbing, and even time-locking.

Only beings born before time may perceive them clearly.]

Feeling this.... it wasn't power but it was like the paths to everything was wide open now. However, Solace didn't bask in the feeling yet.

Aetheria… can I assimilate this?" he asked quietly. "What would I become?"

A pause.

"...I don't know," she admitted, voice hushed. "This isn't evolution. This is... sovereign becoming."

Just then, Gaia appeared, her form tense with alarm.

"Took you long enough," Solace said without looking.

She stared at him, visibly shaken. "What's going on with you? I felt something... unexplainable."

He smiled faintly. "Nothing… yet. But you'll see. Watch, Gaia. Witness what the Progenitor of the Aethernals can truly accomplish."

Two large containers appeared beside him—one filled with human blood, the other with fire dragon blood.

'Alright Aetheria, I'm guessing bloodlines are ranked?'

"They are. These two are Earth Grade. Low-tier."

Solace nodded.

He raised his hand, and the blood surged into him. Power flowed. Horns sprouted. Heat rippled.

But he wasn't done.

He turned inward.

And willed his own blood to assimilate the First Sigil.

He didn't know where it was.

But his blood did.

A single command.

Then—silence.

And in the next instant—

BOOOOOOM!!!

His body exploded.

The entire manor vaporized.

And above the skies of Earth—they came.

Dragons of impossible size.

Phoenixes that burned in reverse.

Gods weeping blood.

Devils with no faces.

The illusions tore across every realm, every sky, every mind. No being untouched.

Even in the Secret Realms, ancient clans looked skyward, trembling.

Gaia fell to her knees, pale and gasping.

She was the world's will.

And even she could not withstand what was awakening.

But then—

Aetheria appeared.

She caught Gaia mid-fall and whispered soothingly, "Don't worry. He's fine."

With a wave of her hand, she sealed the world from all outside eyes.

Another wave—and time reversed, the manor rebuilt, the air calmed.

Aetheria smiled fondly.

"Solace is my husband. I've always been here hehe."

She gestured toward the crater.

In its center… an egg.

But not of shell or flesh.

It was cosmic.

Swirling with galaxies. Runes of unborn laws etched across its surface. Pulsing in colors not known to this dimension.

"He'll sleep for six months," Aetheria said, voice filled with pride.

"And when he wakes… even gods will need to redefine the term 'threat'.
