REID CORP- MONDAY MORNING
Luna had been by Asher's office only once before, and even then, she hadn't stayed long. Today, she was dropping by to surprise him with lunch. She stepped into the lobby, eyes catching the sleek glass and steel interior.
"Miss Wolfe?" Valerie's voice chimed before she even reached reception.
Luna paused.
Valerie approached with her ever-perfect lipstick, pencil skirt, and condescending smile. "You didn't have an appointment."
Luna smiled politely. "I don't need one to see my boyfriend."
Valerie's smile tightened. "Of course."
She stepped aside, but not before adding in a silky voice, "Just so you know, Mr. Reid's in back-to-back meetings till 3. But I'll let him know you dropped by… eventually."
Luna walked past her, but something in her chest burned.
Asher's office
"Asher!" Luna beamed as she entered. Asher looked up from his desk, tired but visibly brightening when he saw her.
"Baby," he got up, rounding the desk and pulling her into a hug.
