Chapter 78 - Slow mornings and Subtle promises

Sunlight trickled through the grand windows of the Wolfe estate, casting a golden glow across the white marble floors and elegant neutral-toned furniture. For once, there was no rush, no emergency, and no threat lurking in the corners of their lives.

Just peace.

Talia stood barefoot in the kitchen, wearing Ethan's shirt, far too big for her, but wrapped around her like a second skin. Her hair was up in a messy bun, a coffee mug in one hand and Luna perched on her hip.

Across from her, Zane sat on the kitchen counter, happily licking peanut butter off a spoon and swinging his legs, clearly enjoying his "snack before breakfast."

"Mama," Luna said sleepily, rubbing her eyes, "can we go see the duckies today?"

Talia smiled. "If you help me make pancakes, we'll have enough energy to go feed them."

"I'll crack the eggs!" Zane jumped in, already reaching for the carton, Ethan's steady hands catching it just in time as he stepped into the kitchen, shirtless and smug.
