Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Master, Will You Share My Bed?

Just as Renji thought he'd have to restart for the third time, the simulation continued.

[Perhaps out of consideration for your family background, Jingliu doesn't take action against you, merely distancing herself silently.]

Renji let out a sigh of relief.

The golden "Prestigious Lineage" trait really came in handy.

No wonder this trait was only available as a beginner's bonus—the system wouldn't give it for free.

With this trait, the difficulty of nearly every scenario dropped significantly.

The simulation pressed on.

[You secretly sigh in relief, burying your dark desires deep within. Yet this poisonous longing would inevitably bloom into a vivid flower of malice...]

[Perhaps out of habit for teaching disciples, or perhaps for other reasons, Jingliu soon takes on another student—a brat named Jing Yuan.]

[From the moment you first saw Jing Yuan, you despised him. In your heart, the master who once belonged to you alone was now shared between two.]

[Worse still, to avoid you, Jingliu devoted more attention to teaching Jing Yuan, growing ever more distant from you.]

[Jealousy and possessiveness twist your heart.]

[While Jingliu is away on campaigns, you frequently "test" and "guide" Jing Yuan, using it as an excuse to torment him. But you're careful—each time, you ensure he feels only pain, suffering no real injury.]

[Jing Yuan, stubborn to the core, endures your bullying without ever telling Jingliu.]

[Jingliu notices your actions, but since you never cross the line and she herself believes in harsh training, she tacitly allows your behavior.]

Renji was utterly dumbfounded by what he saw.

The version of himself in the simulator was jealous enough to bully a child—fine, that was one thing.

But the one he had bullied turned out to be none other than the future renowned general of the Luofu, Jing Yuan, one of the legendary "Generals of Cloud Knights."

Truly worthy of being called the Villain Simulator—this was wild.

[Time flew by, and fifty years passed in the blink of an eye.]

[With the support of your family, not only did you enter the Ten Lords Commission early, but you also became the Chief of the Detention Division, one of the four branches—Detention, Incarceration, Interrogation, and Punishment Division.]

The functions of each division were evident from their names.

The Detention Division was responsible for apprehending major criminals and those afflicted with mara.

The Incarceration Division oversaw the Shackling Prison, serving as its jailers.

The Punishment Division carried out sentences on prisoners.

The Interrogation Division wielded the Penumbric Brush, reading the sins of the condemned and delivering karmic judgments, while also handling the interrogation of prisoners.

In name, the four divisions were equal in rank, but in reality, the Detention Division held the most power—capable of arresting even the generals of the Xianzhou ships above and hunting down mara-stricken criminals below.

Renji, still young, had risen to the position of Chief of the Detention Division, a meteoric ascent by any measure.

After a moment of reflection, Renji turned his attention back to the simulation screen.

[By this time, Jingliu had become the Sword Champion of the Luofu, an undefeated symbol of the Luofu Cloud Knights.]

[She receives a gifted blade from the Artisanship Commission's "Hundred Smiths," spars with the Vidyadhara High Elder Dan Feng, and shares wine with the nameless wanderer who roams the stars.]

[Along with Jing Yuan, who excelled in strategy and formations, the five of them made a name for themselves. The "Quintet of the High-Clouds" became renowned throughout the Luofu and even across the entire Xianzhou Alliance.]

[Yet Jingliu remained unaware that Jing Yuan, her disciple and the weakest among the Quintet, was under immense pressure.]

[This pressure came not only from the overwhelming excellence of the other four but also from you, his senior brother.]

[In terms of rank, you were the Chief of the Detention Division in the Ten Lords Commission, a position above even the Six Chancellors, just half a step below the generals of the Xianzhou.]

[Jing Yuan, however, was merely an unremarkable Cloud Knight.]

[In swordsmanship, the two of you were evenly matched, neither gifted in the art. But through relentless training and accumulated effort, you always managed to stay a step ahead of Jing Yuan.]

[Jing Yuan dreamed of surpassing you, if only to earn a glance of approval from his master.]

By now, Renji was numb.

Oh, Jing Yuan, if you couldn't measure up, that was your own problem—don't blame me for it!

Unfortunately, the simulation didn't bend to Renji's will.

[In his desperation to surpass you, Jing Yuan grew reckless. During one mission, his eagerness for glory led him straight into an ambush by the Abundance, resulting in heavy losses for his unit.]

[For an officer to act rashly and cause severe casualties was not an "unforgivable" crime, but it was still a grave offense in the military. At best, it would ruin his career; at worst, it could lead to a death sentence!]

[This was an internal military matter of the Cloud Knights. Even the Vidyadhara's Dragon Lord Dan Feng and the "Hundred Smiths" of the Artisanship Commission would struggle to intervene.]

[Jingliu, proud and aloof by nature, had few close friends in the military outside the Quintet.]

[Left with no other choice, Jingliu turned to you—her long-estranged senior disciple—hoping you would speak on Jing Yuan's behalf.]

At this point, Renji grew excited.

He had a sneaking suspicion that the simulation was about to stir up trouble!

And sure enough—

Soon, the simulator presented two options.

[Faced with Jingliu's request, your choices are:]

[1. "Jing Yuan is my beloved friend and sworn brother! I'll go plead for him right away!"]

[2. "Master, you wouldn't want Jing Yuan to receive a harsh sentence, would you..."]

Since this was a villain simulator, the more wicked the choice, the better.

Without hesitation, Renji selected the second option.

[You no longer conceal the desire in your heart, staring straight at Jingliu with eyes aflame as if to melt her entire being.]

[You say to her: "Want me to plead for him? No problem! As long as Master shares my bed tonight..."]

[Jingliu looks at you in disbelief, as if seeing you for the first time. Though she had sensed the dark, wicked desires hidden in your heart, she never imagined you would disregard all moral boundaries and harbor such improper thoughts toward your own master.]

[What shocks her even more is that you would use your junior brother's safety as leverage to force her compliance.]

[Enraged, Jingliu proceeds to give you a brutal beating.]

[After leaving you severely injured on the spot, Jingliu storms off in fury.]

[Watching her retreating figure, you smile.]

[Jingliu ultimately held back due to your status. Though your injuries look serious, they're merely superficial—painful but not crippling.]

[What truly pleases you is that Jingliu has reservations. Reservations mean vulnerabilities—it's just that Jing Yuan wasn't enough of a bargaining chip.]

[The mere thought of potentially winning her favor in the future sets your heart ablaze...]

[Despite your absence in pleading for him, Jing Yuan avoids severe punishment. Teng Xiao, the current Luofu General, recognizes his talent and potential, permitting him to atone through service as a common soldier.]

[Gold will always shine. After this upheaval, Jing Yuan matures completely, his genius in strategy and warfare finally bearing fruit.]
