"Prisons are meant to hold criminals. If they were demolished, the world would fall into chaos!"
Tang San had just finished his sentence when he suddenly realized—Tang Lan had set him up!
He panicked on the spot!
"That's completely different!"
"The criminals in prison have already been judged!"
"But the degenerates in the City of Slaughter? Most of them are fugitives, lawless criminals who escaped justice!"
"Even though most of them can't leave, there's always a handful who will achieve 100 victories and gain the God of Slaughter Domain—bringing disaster to the world!"
"What I want to eliminate is that potential threat!"
Tang Lan rolled his eyes.
This guy's logic was absolutely brain-dead—pure 'destroy everything because it might be bad' nonsense.
He didn't even feel like debating anymore—what was the point? There was no reward for winning, and it was just mentally exhausting.
"The reality is simple—you can't beat the King of Slaughter. His fists are bigger."
"So even if you're unhappy, suck it up."
"Or, get strong enough and come back for revenge."
One sentence.
Completely shut Tang San down.
—I try to reason with you, and you hit me with physics?!
Right then—
Another figure shot out from the exit, flying straight toward Tang San.
Tang San, alert this time, quickly dodged.
The figure hurtled toward Tang Lan, who caught them effortlessly with his spiritual power.
It was Ning Rongrong.
That was unexpected.
Tang Lan had assumed the next person to come out would be the lower-level Shui Yue'er.
But thinking about it, it made sense.
Despite Ning Rongrong's fierce combat style, her actual killing intent wasn't strong. Plus, her martial soul wasn't suited for the God of Slaughter Domain.
So it was normal for her to absorb less Slaughter Energy.
With a flick of his hand, Tang Lan dropped a sphere of life energy into her body.
Ning Rongrong woke up instantly.
She scanned the scene,
Her gaze paused on Tang San for a moment, then shifted away as if nothing happened,
A subtle smirk forming at the corner of her lips.
"Second one out, huh?"
She clicked her tongue—
"That nasty energy… it's probably like a divine spirit ring. The longer you endure, the better the effect, right?"
Tang Lan nodded in confirmation.
"That's called Slaughter Energy—pure killing intent. It's what forms the God of Slaughter Domain."
Ning Rongrong raised a hand, summoning the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda.
At the base of the crystalline pagoda, a white pattern had appeared—larger than Jing Ling's.
A flash of white light spread out, then faded into colorlessness.
—The God of Slaughter Domain activated.
Jing Ling, on instinct, unleashed his own domain to counter the suppression from Ning Rongrong's domain.
Which left Tang San suffering in the crossfire.
—Already weakened and still recovering, he was caught off guard and stumbled backward, collapsing onto the ground.
The damage wasn't high, but the humiliation was devastating.
Ning Rongrong couldn't hold back her laughter.
She snickered aloud, drawing a furious glare from Tang San!
But unlike Jing Ling, Ning Rongrong wasn't afraid of him at all.
"Why are you glaring at me?"
"If you hadn't been stupid enough to threaten to destroy the City of Slaughter,"
"You wouldn't have gotten captured mid-trial and lost your reward!"
Tang San was seething.
"Everything I did was for the sake of the continent's civilians!"
"A place of filth like that shouldn't exist in this world!"
Ning Rongrong rolled her eyes dramatically.
"And who exactly do you think you are, acting like you care about the common people?"
"Even Uncle Tang is the leader of the Tang Sect, and he doesn't act as self-righteous as you."
"I actually thought you were changing—trying to be a part of the group."
"But in the end, you're still the same—never learning, never changing!"
Her sharp words cut straight into Tang San's fragile ego.
He trembled in rage!
Just as he was about to explode—
"Enough!" Tang Lan intervened. "Xiao Sanzi's intentions were good—he's just a little too stubborn in his thinking."
That finally made Tang San's anger subside slightly.
It was replaced with a deep sense of frustration as he tilted his head back, staring at the sky.
Ning Rongrong rolled her eyes again—but since Tang Lan had spoken, she didn't push further.
She found a spot to sit down, waiting for the others to come out.
Half an incense stick later—
Shui Yue'er was the third to be thrown out.
Tang Lan caught her effortlessly.
After that, the wait dragged on.
Over an hour later,
Oscar and Dai Mubai emerged nearly at the same time.
This caught everyone off guard.
Even Dai Mubai, upon waking up, looked a little uneasy.
—He was three levels higher than Oscar. He had a Beast Martial Soul and was a Power Attack-type!
—And yet, he lasted the same amount of time as Oscar?!
"This doesn't make sense!"
Dai Mubai was still struggling to accept the fact that he and Oscar had lasted the same amount of time in the trial.
"Alright, stop overthinking."
Tang Lan chuckled and explained—
"Xiao Ao is only missing a torso bone. He has five spirit bones, four of which are over 10,000 years old, including two at 80,000 and 100,000 years."
"His physique is nearly on par with yours, and his spiritual power is even higher."
"Considering all that, the fact that you two came out almost together means you did really well, Mubai."
Dai Mubai finally relaxed a little.
He patted Oscar's shoulder.
"You little bastard, you almost outlasted me!"
"Yeah, kinda regret that," Oscar said with a grin. "If I had just held on for a few more seconds, then…"
"Get lost!"
"Hehehe—"
The two joked around, then each tested out their God of Slaughter Domains.
Compared to Jing Ling's, their domains were clearly much stronger.
But still—
Neither of them had achieved an evolution on their first activation.
Another half an hour later.
Zhu Zhuqing emerged from the portal,
And she was the first one to remain fully conscious upon arrival.
She shook her head toward Tang Lan.
"Sorry, I still couldn't hold out to the end."
She summoned her Shadow Spirit Cat, activating her God of Slaughter Domain.
Her killing intent was nearly double that of Jing Ling's, but still hadn't triggered an evolution.
This genuinely surprised Tang Lan.
He had explained the importance of Slaughter Energy to the four girls beforehand.
Zhu Zhuqing had every part of her spirit bone set except for a head bone—
Her four limbs and torso bones were all at least 30,000 years old, with one at 100,000 years.
Even with all that, she still couldn't reach a first evolution?
But then—
"I broke through," Zhu Zhuqing said. "Once I unlock my seal, I can obtain my sixth spirit ring from the Sky Azure Bull Python."
That was an unexpected bonus.
Tang Lan was just about to say something—
When suddenly, Shui Bing'er was thrown out next,
Landing directly into Zhu Zhuqing's embrace.
Her face ended up buried between two soft cushions.
She struggled a bit, then finally lifted her head.
"Oh, it's you, Zhuqing," Shui Bing'er gasped. "I thought I fell into some weird place. It was so dark and stuffy… but really soft."
Zhu Zhuqing, without a word, took a step back and let go, letting Shui Bing'er drop to the ground.
Shui Bing'er, showing off her agility, executed a smooth aerial twist and landed gracefully.
She was about to say something else—
But Tang Lan cut her off, preventing her from spouting anything inappropriate.
—No matter how wild she was in private, in public, they still had to maintain appearances.
Unfortunately—
Even Shui Bing'er's God of Slaughter Domain hadn't undergone a first evolution.
"Let's wait for Xiao Wu," Oscar suggested. "She has the highest level among us, even higher than Lan. Maybe she has a chance."
As soon as he finished speaking,
Another spatial ripple surged—
A pink silhouette shot out, performing a fluid midair flip,
And landed lightly on the ground.
It was Xiao Wu.
"Xiao Wu-jie, you're finally out!" Shui Bing'er greeted her excitedly. "How's your God of Slaughter Domain? Did it evolve on the first activation?"
