"Not bad. When no one's around, this'll save me a ton of trouble."
At this speed, he could leave a bullet train—and maybe even a fighter jet—in the dust.
And the fact that his body could handle such speed without a scratch… meant his durability was getting downright scary.
Two days into awakening his "golden finger," and he'd already gained two adorable girls as followers. Rosen's mood was more than a little bright.
Even though it was late, he wasn't feeling sleepy at all.
After a quick wash, he sank into the couch—half swallowed by its cushions—and, as if picking up a phone, opened the group chat.
"Let's see what they've been talking about today."
He tapped in, only to see the unread messages already past 99+.
And, of course, the topic was… him.
[Magic Old Man]: Another whole day spent reading grimoires. Bored.jpg.
[Shut-In Angel]: Another whole day gaming online. Feeling great, life fulfilled.
[Blizzard from Hell]: Another whole day fighting monsters, protecting civilians, recruiting
[Bad Woman]: Well… lots of work for the exorcism department as usual, but not too bad. I've got competent subordinates.
[Shut-In Angel]: Ooh, Makima just broke the pattern!
[Poison Island]: Another whole day clearing corpses and outsmarting mutants.
[Shut-In Angel]: Tough work. How's your situation over there?
[Poison Island]: Not great. Power went out completely yesterday, but thankfully Shizuka-sensei's place has a backup generator.[
Shut-In Angel]: Ah… wonder when the group quest will refresh. Speaking of which, where's Rosen? Haven't seen him all day.
[Magic Old Man]: Probably herding sheep… kidding.
[Blizzard from Hell]: Out of all of us, he's the most mysterious. Gabriel couldn't even find any info on him.
[Shut-In Angel]: Well, it's normal to lose some info when world data leaks.
Magic Old Man]: Still feels suspicious. Maybe he really is secretly herding sheep.
[Shut-In Angel]: Why do you care if he is? What, Frieren, you craving lamb now?
[Magic Old Man]: I don't dislike it, but I prefer sweets.
[Magic Old Man]: Got any more of that tiramisu you sent me last time?
[Shut-In Angel]: Confirmed—gluttonous elf!
Gabriel said that, but still went to her fridge, grabbed a tiramisu, and sent it to Frieren as a "red packet."
[Magic Old Man]: Thanks.jpg.
[Blizzard from Hell]: About Rosen… even though we're not that close yet, I get the feeling he's special. At the very least, he's lucky.
[Bad Woman]: Anyone who makes it into this group isn't normal. And "Shepherd" as a nickname… I swear I've heard that somewhere before.
[Shepherd]: Nothing special. Just take it literally.
[Magic Old Man]: And he suddenly appears.
[Poison Island]: Rosen, you're here.
[Shepherd]: Had some stuff to deal with besides school.
[Shut-In Angel]: Oh right, you got five points today, didn't you? What'd you get from the daily draw?
[Shepherd]: Forgot. Haven't drawn yet—let me try.
If Gabriel hadn't reminded him, Rosen really would've forgotten his daily free pull.
He quickly opened the free lottery, tapped once, and waited.
[System]: Group member "Shepherd" has obtained Flight Magic.
[Shepherd]: Flight Magic.jpg. Newbie here—good skill?
It was the same Flight Magic from Frieren's world.
Flying solved a lot of problems… but for Rosen, it was a bit redundant.
And items from the free pool couldn't be given away directly—only sold in the group's marketplace.
[Shut-In Angel]: Lucky bastard!
Even though Gabriel could also fly, magic and supernatural abilities like this were considered top-tier freebies.
[Magic Old Man]: Flight Magic, huh? Humans only developed that spell less than a century ago. Not many mages can use it well.
[Poison Island]: Just checked—Rosen's selling his Flight Magic for 500 points. That's steep…
[Shepherd]: The group set the price, not me.
[Shut-In Angel]: Stupid group, come out and get beaten!
[Blizzard from Hell]: Yeah, that's pricey.
[Shepherd]: True. You'd need to post a quest to get that many points—sign-in bonuses alone are way too slow.
The moment he said that, a pinned system message popped up.
