Chapter 1 - New Life

...

Rainbow City, Yellow Sun Primary School

A dazed young girl of barely six years of age kept staring at the scene in front of her.

As the Teacher dictated and students around her chimed in their responses, the young girl eyed each kid sitting around her, after which she began to stare at her own chubby little hands.

The teacher, an elderly lady approaching her sixties, spoke to the children with a soft voice,

"Students, recite the next sentence with me, okay? It might just appear in your test papers soon, you know~?"

The young girl seated in the middle of the class was named Lisa Cook. She was sitting in Class 1-C of Yellow Sun Primary School.

As a student in the first year of Primary School, the classes were very relaxed, with some kids even napping in secret. The elderly teacher surely noticed that, but chose not to be harsh on the little kids.

The school was very reputable and catered to only intelligent students or those belonging to wealthy families.

Lisa belonged to the former, as the little girl inherited her Mother's exceptional looks, along with her intelligence. Lisa's family didn't have to pay a dime in fees as she had long since qualified for a full five-year scholarship with the highest score on the qualification test.

Her red hair was tied in a ponytail, while her amber colored eyes kept staring at the other students with curiosity. The above-average height girl was popular amongst her peers due to her remarkable scores and her breathtaking looks, not to mention her friendly and approachable personality. Her slender body, dressed in a fashionable frilly skirt and top captured the hearts of the young boys around her.

But, none of those boys knew that at this moment, it wasn't their pretty and heartthrob-inducing girl sitting amongst them.

Rather, within her body now resided the soul of a twenty-nine-year-old businessman, who had just lost all his assets and wealth to a shady honey trap from his rivals. In agony, he drank himself to death, and just when he woke up again, his soul had taken over the body of the little girl, whose original owner had died after contracting a strange and mysterious disease.

Her parents happily rejoiced upon seeing Lisa getting better and, upon the Doctor's advice, sent her to the School, with nobody realising that someone different was within Lisa's body now.

As for the reason why the former twenty-nine-year-old businessman ended up staring around the classroom was that a strange, semi-transparent screen kept floating in front of her.

The former he, now she, was flabbergasted at the sudden changes around him. But firstly, she chose to accept her new life as Lisa, a young first-grade student, as nothing could be done to avoid or change it anymore.

Well, there was another big reason why she moved on from her previous life and gender, which was that his 'saber' had not had any action in his nearly three decades of life. He was truly on the verge of turning into a 'wizard', so there were no big attachments left for her 'third leg' anymore.

After firmly acknowledging her new identity and gender, Lisa quickly started to study the flashing translucent panel in front of her.

She was no outsider to Novel stuff, and had an inkling of what she might be dealing with here.

As Lisa read through the information on the panel, and sighed lightly. She had hoped for some passive reward system or some OP system, but for some strange reason, her luck didn't act here as she got bestowed with a very barebones system.

'Hopefully, the reward quality justifies the transmigration. But, then again... being born as a cute and good-looking girl isn't that bad. Beats being reborn as a bald old man any day. And, I can even admire myself in the mirror as much as I want!'

Lisa eyed the suddenly triggered task and smiled merrily.

'Alright! The first task is here. Time to see if this System is all talk and no show, or something worth trying.'

She didn't give a damn about the penalty, as nightmares weren't enough for a former grown-up man, who had survived through the society for so long, to freeze in terror.

Turning her head to glance at her deskmate, the girl who had been sitting next to the previous Lisa for the past few months.

Consuela Wolfe, child prodigy. Four years old. Quiet Personality. Black eyes and hair tied in twintails.

And that was all Lisa could recall from the past life memories. Since she didn't talk much, there wasn't much interaction between Lisa and Consuela, despite the previous Lisa's friendly personality.

'Bullied, huh? No one from the class had behaved like that with her yet. Must be someone from the other classes.'

'The task seems simple, though. I mean, how much effort could be needed to deal with a few kids?'

Lisa smugly thought to herself as she rubbed her hands in anticipation.

As for the reason behind the bullying? Age difference? Or maybe envy of talent?

Lisa didn't care much as she nodded to herself and thought,

'No matter, I just need to act normal and protect her for today. As for tomorrow onwards, I will sort that out later.'
