Chapter 46 - Chapter 46 – Escape from the Secret Chamber

Is there anyone in this universe who can bring back a soul that has been utterly extinguished?

Even the Sovereign of Death cannot accomplish such a feat. However, Beirut considered one possibility.

What if it were… a Sovereign of the Highest Plane?

Could the Sovereign born from the Laws of Heaven and Earth revive a life whose soul has been completely annihilated?

Even Beirut couldn't say for certain. All he knew was that those who completed a mission from a Sovereign of the Highest Plane were granted a wish.

It was through such wishes that several powerful Sovereigns had obtained Sovereign artifacts, making them vastly stronger than their peers.

Could it be that the Azure Dragon had once completed a Sovereign mission, and wished to live again after death?

This made Beirut all the more interested in Sadius, whom he had imprisoned.

Azure Dragon or not—right now, he, Beirut, was the Sovereign.

In the chamber where Sadius was held, powerful magic formations densely covered every surface, making it utterly impossible for him to escape.

"I was too careless! Beirut controls the entire Yulan Plane from the shadows—of course he'd be aware of anything happening in the Planar Prison. I just hope one of Leylin's divine clones has made it here in time… then I still have a chance," Sadius thought to himself.

Although Beirut was a Sovereign, he usually pretended to be a Sovereign's Emissary and conducted himself in that role most of the time.

Still, Sadius knew better than to place all his hope in others.

He repeatedly unleashed his ultimate attacks against the formations, but they didn't budge an inch.

Sadius calmed himself and began analyzing the situation. To his surprise, his divine sense wasn't sealed within the room—it could still probe outside freely.

Extending his divine sense, Sadius soon saw two individuals chatting over tea in a nearby room.

"What the Infernal Realm are those two talking about?" he muttered internally.

At that moment, both men noticed Sadius' divine sense.

With a mere flick of his own divine sense, Beirut forcefully pushed Sadius' consciousness back into the room.

Unable to eavesdrop on them, Sadius shifted his divine sense in another direction.

Soon, he saw Nien and Liya.

"Those two little ones are still in the Forest of Darkness."

Then, he spotted the three Rat Kings.

"Big Brother, Second Brother, Third Brother…"

Hearing someone's voice in their minds, the three Rat Kings looked confused.

"Big Brother, Second Brother, wasn't I the youngest among us three? Who's calling me 'Third Brother'?"

"Are you stupid? Back in the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts, we swore brotherhood with Sadius. He was the youngest, so of course he called you Third Brother."

"Oh, that's right. I just heard someone call me, did I mishear?"

"I misheard too?"

"Are you both dumb? It must be Sadius. That guy's nearby."

Though Sadius' soul mutation wasn't as rare as a fourfold-elemental one, his triple-elemental soul still had many wonders.

Even the three Rat Kings, all at the Mid God level, didn't detect him immediately.

"Sadius! Weren't you exiled to the Planar Prison by Hodan?"

"Brothers, you three really let me down. You're Mid Gods now and still haven't avenged me?"

The Rat Kings were speechless. After returning from the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts, their father had kept them on a short leash—they hadn't had the chance to help Sadius at all.

"Sadius, where are you? If you're in the Forest of Darkness, why haven't you come by the Metal Castle to see us? We've missed you."

In truth, it wasn't about missing Sadius—they just wanted an excuse to relax for a change.

"Alas, I escaped from the Planar Prison only to be captured by Lord Beirut. Right now, I'm locked in a secret chamber filled with magic formations."

"Cut it out. That chamber is supposed to seal divine sense—how could you be talking to us from inside?"

Suddenly, the three Rat Kings realized something was off. If Sadius wasn't in the Metal Castle, how would he even know about that chamber?

"Sadius… don't tell me you're in the secret chamber? That lower-level God Father caught earlier—was that you?!"

"Hmph. And we're sworn brothers, are we? Your father locked me up in here! When I get out, I'll tell every human and magical beast on the continent that the Violet-Gold Rat King can't even protect his own sworn brother!"

The three Rat Kings exchanged awkward glances.

They had no choice—they had to help their brother.

"Sadius, actually… we do know a way to escape the chamber."

That particular chamber hadn't been made with Sovereign power; it had originally been designed to discipline Beirut's three sons.

Whenever they caused trouble, Beirut would lock them inside for a while. Over time, the three had figured out how to dismantle the formations.

"Brothers, save me!"

The Rat Kings promptly relayed the secret method to break the formations.

Beirut never would've guessed—his own home was full of traitors.

Inside the chamber, Sadius began frantically disabling the formations one by one.

Beirut sensed something was wrong the moment Sadius began acting.

Just as Beirut was about to intervene, Leylin stepped forward and requested a duel.

To Leylin, Beirut was just a Sovereign's Emissary. Even if his original body was a God-Eater Rat, and even if he had a Sovereign artifact, Leylin didn't believe himself weaker than Beirut.

"You're clearly trying to buy time for Sadius to escape—willing to fight me for it. But even if he escapes the chamber, can he leave the Metal Castle?"

"Fighting you is something I've longed to do regardless."

Leylin's power was approaching complete mastery. He too wanted to know who was stronger—him or Beirut.

"Fine. Let's head to the South Sea. With our strength, if we fight on the Yulan Plane, we might sink the last remaining continent."

Even Leylin was surprised by Beirut's straightforwardness.

The two stepped out of the room.

"Harry, you three—watch Sadius closely. If he escapes, I'll throw you into the Infernal Realm, and you won't be coming back for a million years," Beirut warned via divine sense.

The three Rat Kings drooped their heads, realizing Beirut had discovered their betrayal.

Beirut and Leylin then shot into the sky and flew southward. Back in the Metal Castle, Sadius was disabling the formations faster and faster.

"Was it really this simple?" he muttered.

Not long after, he had dismantled every single formation. The chamber doors opened automatically. Overjoyed, Sadius stepped out.

Soon after, he found the three Rat Kings.

"Brothers, thank you so much!" Sadius gave each of them a big hug.

"Nien, who is that guy? He seems really close to our three ancestors."

"I don't know. Judging by his aura, probably a God-level expert. Could he be the War God of the O'Brien Empire?"

Sadius then walked up to the two young mice.

"Nien, Liya—you poor kids, still being supervised in magic training all day."
