"What is your name?" Seth asked."Emr—I mean, Anore!" Emris blurted out. Emris smiled, as he hold Seth's hand, feeling a bit at ease with him.
Seth sighed and nodded. He clearly didn't have time for more problems, but he still felt he needed to help Emris. "Very well," he said. "I can help you find your home. Follow me."
Seth tried to pull his hand away, but Emris grabbed it tightly. He was scared to let go, worried something bad would happen, and decided he would use Seth as a human shield until the stupid system returned.
As for seth felt a pang of pity for Emris, especially after he noticed the small trickle of blood at the corner of his lips and the way he was protectively holding his stomach. He simply sighed and pulled Emris along with him.
They continued walking, looking for any clues that might lead them to Anore's house. As for Emris, he was simply enjoying the time as he feel completely safe with Seth by his side.
And as they walked for long time emris started to feel his head begin to spin, a sensation he didn't understand. He stopped, looking at Seth and trying to say something, but his vision started to get darker. He could hear Seth calling his name, but he slowly closed his eyes and collapsed into seth's arms.
Pain… something hurt… it hurts—IT HURTS!
Emris's eyes snapped open. He felt a sharp, stabbing pain as he clutched his chest, his lungs fighting for air. He looked down at his hands, which were now covered in blood. "Blood? Why? Why is there blood?" he thought, confused.
He tried to think back to what had happened, but the pain was unbearable.
"Fuck, I can't take this anymore," he said in a raspy voice, and immediately transformed into his real form to heal faster.
His tired eyes looked around. He wasn't in the hot, sandy place he knew. Instead, he was in a dark alley, hearing a lot of noise coming from the end of it. Some people were walking past, but they probably couldn't see him since the place was so dark.
A lot of light was out there. "Where was he?" he wondered.
"You're in New York City, Emris!" a voice said.
Emris's head snapped up as a light hit him, coming from the system. "Oh, look who finally showed up! Do you know how much I suffered?" he said with annoyance as he watched the system transform into a little white creature.
"Sorry, I panicked when you told me you had no memories—"
He was cut off when Emris hugged the little creature tightly against his chest, his body shaking slightly. He had been so scared.
So many things had happened, and he felt lost in a big world he knew almost nothing about, especially after ending up in this new place out of nowhere.
The system felt bad when it saw how scared Emris was. It knew Emris was like a big baby lost in a new world, especially since he hadn't received any of the body's memories, and the few he did get could have been traumatic.
But suddenly, Emris grabbed the system and angrily threw it away. Which take the system out of surprise as emris says "You know what? I don't want you! I've got my human shield already—"
He stopped, realizing he wasn't in Anore's body anymore.
"Oh, wait, I might need you. How did I get here? Did I fail my mission already?"
"No," the system said as it suddenly appeared on his shoulder. "There was an error in the system. You shouldn't have been brought here, but you must complete this mission now."
"Excuse me?!" Emris exclaimed. "No! I don't want to! What do you mean? I have two damn bodies to take care of? What happened to Anore's body anyway?"
"He is fine but you do need to figure out how to turn between two bodies. Oh, and by the way," the system declared, "you still only have one year."
All the pain Emris had been feeling vanished, replaced by pure shock. He stood up, his mouth hanging open in disbelief.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" He shouted in shock, but then coughed as the pain hit him again. "Ugh, that hurts," he said, holding his chest and taking a deep breath.
"Okay, let's go over this again... one year for two damn lives? One of them came here by accident, and the other is a complete mess?"
"Yes," the system replied, watching as Emris lay down on the floor.
"What are you doing?" it asked.
"I give up," Emris said, his voice laced with despair. "I mean, being a lost soul is better than this shit, right?" He sounded like he was about to cry.
You don't have time to be dramatic!" the system declared. "The body's owner is named Noah. He was a mafia leader, chosen to take the lead after his father. He worked so hard to reach a high level, with support from his brother and best friend, only to be stabbed in the back by both of them. He wants revenge!"
The system then looked at the quiet Emris before continuing. "You know your mission now. Noah is 37 years old, and you should get his memories any minute now. If you don't, then you must tell me!"
Emris nodded, turning his head to the side as he thought about how he ended up in this mess.
He then transformed back into Noah's form, and his eyes widened as he saw his reflection in a piece of shattered glass.
He had blonde hair that reached his neck, sharp blue eyes with long lashes , and pale skin. He was wearing a white shirt, stained with blood over his heart where he had been shot, and black jeans that perfectly hugged his muscular body.
Emris was so handsome it made him sit up with excitement. "Oh my, this body is so perfect!" Emris declared.
"Though it isn't as big as my human shield, the one I saw in Anore's life, his beauty is no lie!" He was, of course, talking about Seth's body.
