Chapter 26 - CHAPTER 25- THE UNSEEN DISTURBANCE

The sun slowly faded away, and the sky outside the Sabharangam Castle grew still as darkness settled in, the moon making its quiet appearance. A gentle breeze swayed the leaves and caressed the surroundings softly.

The moonlight shone faintly into the Sabharangam hall, where some children gathered and looked at the serene spectacle.

The applause in Sabharangam faded slowly.

Above the chamber, the seventeen completed sculptures still floated in quiet constellations of threadlight, birds, beasts, and trees woven from the careful patience of the Craft Section B students.

The Headmistress and the Madhabucho stepped onto the podium, the Headmistress lifting the thread-lantern.

The Headmistress spoke with both authority and warmth,

"Dear children and students, today we witnessed perseverance and dedication from all of you. You may have trembled, but you held your ground."

Applause began to rise once more, gently at first.

She continued,

"And with this moonlit night upon us, Kazan Trial Day 1 comes to a close. We will continue again tomorrow. I ask all of you to return to your dorms and rest well. The trials will resume."

"I wish the very best for each of you."

The Madhabucho stepped forward, his voice filled with pride.

"The Kazan Trial so far has progressed with determination, discipline, and most importantly, fairness and mutual respect. What we witnessed today was truly remarkable."

A stronger wave of applause filled the Sabharangam.

"I request the same spirit again on Day 2. With the guidance of our respected Inimainashi Sisters, faculty, and Kazan Weavers, let us continue to uphold the values of this trial."

He paused briefly, looking across the hall.

"Today's trial is concluded. Return to your dorms with your heads held high. I am proud of my Mounagiri family."

As his words settled, golden threads spread gently across the Sabharangam, shimmering under the moonlit sky.

Tamara and Kodo watched the spectacle.

Tamara's golden threads danced softly, her eyes glistening.

A small tear slipped down her cheek as her threads seemed to glow with renewed warmth.

Kodo's white threads shone faintly, touched by that same golden light.

Tom stood beside them, quietly taking it all in, as if reliving a familiar classroom moment.

For a brief moment, the entire Sabharangam seemed to smile.

Students began leaving the chamber in small groups, their voices low with excitement and exhaustion, the younger children guided gently by the Inimainashi Sisters.

Some celebrated softly.

Some walked in silence, replaying their mistakes.

And some simply looked back one last time at the glowing sculptures they had helped create.

High above, the Forge Section and Peak Section galleries slowly emptied.

But Tamara, Kodo, and Tom remained a little longer.

Tamara's golden threads shimmered faintly around her wrists.

Kodo leaned against the railing, his gaze still fixed below.

"You saw it, you felt it too, right?" Kodo said quietly.

Tamara and Tom nodded.

"The crimson strand."

Silence followed.

The memory of that flicker lingered, a thin thread that appeared and vanished before anyone else could notice.

Kodo's eyes scanned the chamber slowly.

"It wasn't an accident."

"No," Tamara replied calmly.

"He pulled it back the moment the resonance stabilized."

Kodo exhaled slowly, but his white threads pulsed faintly.

"And during a children's trial…"

His voice lowered.

"That's what bothers me."

His jaw tightened.

"He nearly disturbed their harmony again."

His gaze shifted toward the far end of the gallery.

Eiroh was gone.

"He's careful," Kodo murmured.

Tamara folded her arms, her expression steady.

"I understand your concern, Kodo. But right now, we have nothing to prove it."

She paused.

"And he isn't careless either."

Her eyes sharpened slightly.

"We need to catch him off guard and catch him red-handed."

Tom added quietly,

"As we said, Kodo, don't underestimate Mounagiri Gakuen or this family."

Kodo's threads softened.

A small, quiet smile appeared.

"You're right, I should trust Mounagiri."

Below them, the final sculptures dissolved into drifting strands of light as the chamber prepared for the next stage of the trials.

Unnoticed, some of the Inimainashi Sisters, along with the Madhabucho and the Headmistress, had already left the arena.

Deep beneath Sabharangam, hidden behind woven stone walls, a different chamber stirred with quiet intensity.

The Resonance Chamber Sanctum.

The Madhabucho, the Headmistress, and several Inimainashi Sisters entered, while the Resonance Readers operated the system, analyzing the patterns.

Floating thread-screens displayed shifting resonance currents.

Silver threads pulsed across them like living diagrams.

One of the younger Sisters suddenly leaned forward.

"Sister Naemi…"

Her voice trembled slightly.

Naemi stepped closer, followed by the Headmistress and the Madhabucho.

"What is it?" she asked.

The display showed the resonance flow from the Puzzle of Destiny trial.

For a moment, everything remained calm.

Then, a spike appeared.

Thin, Sharp, deep crimson.

And then it vanished.

"It disappeared…" the younger Sister said.

Naemi's gaze remained fixed.

"Run the resonance trace again."

The Resonance Readers obeyed and ran the trace again.

The system pulsed again.

The spike reappeared in the recorded data.

Someone had forced a thread beyond normal resonance limits.

Naemi signaled silently to the Headmistress and the Madhabucho.

"So it is true…" the Madhabucho said, his voice lower now.

"Do you believe the rooftop incident was not isolated?" a Sister asked.

The Madhabucho remained silent for a moment.

Then he spoke firmly,

"The Kazan trials were accelerated for a reason."

The Headmistress added quietly,

"But whoever is manipulating these threads knows how to hide."

A subtle unease passed through the chamber.

Above them, the academy remained calm.

But beneath it, something had begun to shift.

Elsewhere in Mounagiri, in Sector 7, within a moss-covered chamber, a lone figure stood.

Eiroh.

Crimson threads pulsed faintly in his palm.

He looked down at them.

Then exhaled softly.

"So the Kazan field can detect it."

A faint smile formed.

"Interesting."

He turned his gaze toward the distant Sabharangam towers.

"They're watching more carefully than I expected."

For a moment, silence filled the room.

Then his fingers closed slightly.

The crimson thread flickered once and did not fully disappear.

And somewhere within Mounagiri, the unseen disturbance had begun to take shape.
