Chapter 5 - The New Girl

Written by **EYRAM**

Serena spent two weeks at home with Seraphina, which allowed them to create a sisterly bond that people usually require their whole lives to achieve. Time seemed to run faster when one is having a good time.

She was extremely crestfallen about her mom, but Seraphina stopped her from dwelling on loss; they had makeovers, went shopping, and she was enjoying the rich city life.

And on her last night before school, Seraphina took her to meet her friends at a party. That night, she wore an antique white shirt with a classic bow and a flowing skirt that reached knee length, and finally, classic black heels to complete the look.

Her blonde hair was held in a high ponytail, and she applied cherry colored lipstick, making her overall visage look very bold and sweet all at the same time.

Seraphina was the opposite of Serena's matchup. She wore a short, fitted red dress, bold red lipstick, and left her hair loose. She donned red pumps; her match-up looked much more expensive when compared to Serena's. They looked so similar and different all at the same time.

Then she was even more shocked to find out they were going out in a black Lamborghini! They both sat in the passenger seats as the Driver strode through the Neon streets.

They stopped at a fancy-looking venue with a pool and all. It looked fit for a high-class party, yet high school students were renting it for a meet-up.

As she entered the hall, she saw only two girls and a guy. One of the girls was called Trisha Devlin; her family was celebrity royalty. For generations, they had this make-up line, and clothing line, and everything they made was one of a kind and could sell for millions.

There was Sophia, a soft-spoken and rather shy girl, who, unlike the rest, did not come from a noticeable background but was always around the guy, Lance Light.

His Family owned a large corporation that had many branches and companies. He was extremely influential and wealthy.

As soon as they joined the crowd, they garnered the attention of everyone in the hall. Trisha was the first to approach them and said,

"Wow, your twin sister is the real deal."

"Did you think I was lying?" Seraphina asked in an aggravated tone

"Honestly, knowing you, that was not off the table, so what's your name?" she asked, looking at me

"Serena, Serena Blackwood," Serena said, and that was when she felt this ominous intent, almost like she was being watched, and behind her, she saw this beautiful guy staring at her.

Lance Light had tan skin that looked so alluring, his green eyes were absolutely enchanting, and to top it all off, he had this dark hair that matched with everything perfectly.

He looked ripped. And as he casually strutted closer, his hands over Sophia's shoulder, Seraphina whispered into her ear.

"That's him, the guy I was telling you about, the one who stole my heart."

"His hands are over another girl's shoulder. If I were you, I'd forget about it," Serena replied in a hushed tone

"Oh, Sophia, are you seriously comparing me to her? She has no background and is short and timid. He will easily slip through her hands and fall into mine," Seraphina claimed with more confidence and determination than she ever displayed for as long as they knew each other.

"Well, you can believe what you want to, but I believe everything you mentioned has no place when it comes to true love."

"Whoa, is that Shakespeare?"

"No, it's Serena," they burst into laughter, not noticing Lance was already upon them. He smiled, exposing his pearly white teeth for all to see, and then he said

"Hey," his voice deep and manly for a guy his age, Seraphina almost instantly replied, saying.

"Hi," then introduced us to each other. All the while trying to get him to notice the cleavage of her dress, practically ignoring her, he said to Serena.

"So, you're going to be joining my class soon, but I want to let you know there is only room for one winner."

"Oh well, then you're about to watch me prove you wrong. I achieved a scholarship in Den Ridge High's special program, and I am the only student in it as well. It focuses on enhancing the human body with metalloid parts to not let the development of technology, in particular robots, affect employment, but instead enhance it."

He smirked, looking impressed, and said

"I guess I'll have to even the playing field then. I played an integral part in replicating the human DNA to create a substitute for blood, and since then, no one has needed to wait for transplants. You might be learning, but I'm going to show you how to graduate."

"Wow, well, for my middle school graduation project many years ago, I single-handedly created the very first nano-chip that replaced many large data storage units, reducing the size of supercomputers internationally, and that was two years ago, though the school took the cash for it since it funded the entire thing, my name is boldly on the invention." he smiled and said

"I'm impressed," the rest of them not having an idea of the conversation going on between the two, barely understanding what they said.

Later that night, Seraphina got Drunk and, standing on a table, she announced

"Let's play Truth or Dare!" taking out an empty wine bottle and rolling it. First, it landed on Trisha, and she decided to go for a dare, then she was forced to break dance without music, but that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Next, it landed on Damien, and he chose a dare as well and was asked to kiss Seraphina, but he refused to do it, getting him eliminated.

Then, afterwards, he left with Sophie, and the rest of the party couldn't be more boring, so she wanted to leave.

But Seraphina was a full-on Party Demon.

And in the end, she had to leave on her own to prepare for the next day.
