Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: Gwen’s Confession

Ten days quickly passed.

Finally, under the so-called world's greatest construction power of the U.S., the shattered classrooms were repaired after a month and a half.

State High School reopened once again.

At the school gate, a Rolls-Royce stopped.

The door opened, and a young man in a blue shirt stepped out.

It was Harry Osborn.

Right then, a Bentley also pulled up.

Out stepped Maguire in a black suit.

Harry immediately ran toward him.

In moments, he was standing before Maguire.

Looking bashful, Harry said,

"Peter, I want to ask you something."

Maguire raised an eyebrow.

"Could it be that Norman Osborn is in trouble? Looks like the Green Goblin's about to make his entrance. Time for my Bully Points to rack up again."

He smiled and replied,

"What is it? Just say it."

Harry cautiously asked,

"Peter, what do you think of Mary Jane?"

Maguire was speechless.

"I thought it was about the Goblin… turns out it's about the bus girl."

He waved it off.

"Not much. Never tried, so can't judge. You could ask Flash."

Harry was stunned.

"Never tried? What does that mean? Why ask Flash?"

He hurried on.

"Truth is, Peter, lately Mary Jane's been chasing me. I wanted your opinion. If you like her, I'll reject her—we're best friends after all."

Maguire thought,

"At least Harry's a decent friend. I should warn him a bit."

He looked at Harry and said,

"I don't think much of her. She's just a gold-digger. Don't fall for her. If you want to play, fine, I don't mind."

With that, he turned and left.

Since Harry hadn't yet turned against Peter over Norman Osborn, Maguire's words still carried weight with him.

Maguire walked into the classroom—

and found a blonde girl sitting in his seat.

It was Gwen, whom he hadn't seen in nearly half a month.

She wore a floral dress today, golden hair draped down her back, hiding her S-shaped figure, paired with white sneakers.

A youthful beauty, like spring peach blossoms, full of life with a faint fragrance.

When she saw Maguire, Gwen's deep eyes lit with joy.

She ran toward him, then stopped shyly in front of him, since many students were watching.

Her face glowed as she said,

"Maguire, come outside with me. I need to talk to you."

He nodded.

Soon, they were in a quiet corner of the campus.

Maguire looked at her curiously.

"What's wrong, Gwen? Something happen?"

She gazed at him tenderly.

"Nothing happened, I… I just…"

Her cheeks flushed red before she could finish.

Maguire had already guessed.

"I know, you don't need to say it."

"I missed you too."

At that, Gwen's composure broke.

Her eyes welled up, and she whispered like a mosquito,

"I missed you too. I… I like—"

Before she finished, Maguire pulled her into his arms.

Gwen buried her face against him, overwhelmed.

The next second, blushing furiously, she broke free and ran away.

Meanwhile, inside Stark Tower.

On the top floor lab, a gray metal suit of armor stood.

Its arc reactor in the chest glowed brightly.

The roof above slid open.

Jets of light blasted from the limbs, launching Tony Stark into the sky.

He had completed his second suit of armor—

and now he was testing its flight altitude.

He soared higher at extreme speed.

Inside, the AI Jarvis reported,

"Mr. Stark, altitude ten thousand meters. Temperature is critically low. Recommend immediate descent."

But Tony ignored him, pushing higher still.

Frost began to form across the armor's exterior.
