BANG!
A small but catastrophic sound erupted from the impact, making everyone halt at once. The ground beneath the two figures sank slightly while a violent pressure spread through the surroundings. Emperor Ezekiel's eyes shook as he stared ahead in disbelief. His enormous greatsword, which had descended with enough force to split apart the ground, had suddenly stopped in midair.
The blood-red figure had caught the blade with one hand.
His fingers were wrapped firmly around the sharp edge while blood-red energy flowed across his palm. There was no wound and his arm had not moved even slightly. He simply stood there while holding back Emperor Ezekiel's full-strength strike as though it was nothing.
Emperor Ezekiel's expression changed. His arms tightened around the handle of his greatsword as he tried to force the blade down, but it refused to move even an inch. His lips slowly opened in frustration as recognition flashed through his eyes.
"Alaster, you..."
