For a moment Ethan's vision was cut off. The dense light blinded him completely. His body went cold and numb, and he felt as if his very soul had been torn out of him.
Time stretched out.
What felt like hours was only seconds.
Then slowly, his sensation returned. He felt his blood frozen like ice and his body shivering wildly in pain.
His dark vision became blurry.
He found himself half-buried in ice. His face and body were bound tightly by frozen icy blocks. He could barely move around as he found his strength lacking.
He tried to circulate his mana but found his reserves were pitifully low.
Around him, the world had turned white. The battlefield was covered in frost. The others were trapped the same way. Some looked still, as if unconscious, others shivered faintly. Ethan could not tell if they were alive or not.
A sharp crack echoed in the silence. He turned his head with effort. There, in the middle of the frozen ground, stood the Ice Bear.
Similar to them, its body was locked in an ice block,the ropes attached around were now frozen solid around it. Its blue eyes glowed faintly.
The ice binding split and fell away. With a roar of defiance, it shook itself free, causing the shards scattering across the frozen stone.
It staggered forward, slipping on its steps as its massive frame crashed into the ground with a heavy thud. The beast was visiblely tired, its body trembling from exhaustion and wounds.
Yet it was still alive.
It raised its head, searching.
Its eyes locked, not on Ethan, but on Randall at the corner.
Randall, still half-trapped in a block of ice, cursed inwardly. His mana barely kept him alive against the chill. He could only watch as the beast limped toward him.
"No… no…" Randall screamed inwardly in panic.
He struggled, trying to break free, but his limbs were weak, and his body sluggish. The bear's roar shook him to his core. It leapt, massive paw raised, ready to crush him to pieces.
Randall shut his eyes expecting the scene of being broken apart by the block of ice.
BANG.
A loud sound echoed giving him chills however…
The expected strike never came.
Silence hung for a heartbeat, then he opened his eyes.
In front of him stood a man, shield raised, body covered in shards of ice.
"Lord…" Randall whispered in shock.
The Ice Bear snarled in anger as its patience snapped.
It swung its hind leg in a brutal kick. The back paw slammed into Ethan's shield with thunderous force.
BOOM.
The ground split under Ethan's boots. Dust and shards of ice burst up around him. His arms trembled from the blow, but he withstood the blow.
He did not fall nor was he pushed back.The Ice Bear eyes widened in horror seeing this.
The seemingly frail human who gets blown away by his attack now manages to stand firmly.
Then it noticed that unlike before,the man seemed to be filled with vitality.There was no sign of exhaustion on his face, rather it was watching it fiercely.
"GRRRRRR!''
The beast lashed out again, its front paw sweeping across. Ethan twisted, his shield catching the blow.
BANG!
The blow causes his body to tilt slightly still he withstood it.
Ethan snarled through gritted teeth and roared.
"Enough!"
With all his strength, he shoved forward, swatting the paw aside with a huge force causing the ice bear to stammer.
Ethan putting his strength onto the leg,slammed his foot on the ground to propel himself with a devastating force.
"Take this bastard!"
Along with the momentum,he smashed his shield into the bear's chest.
BANG.
The creature stumbled backward, surprised by thundering pain hammering its chest.
THUD!
Its huge body rolled down slamming onto the ground with a loud slam making it shriek again.
Such an opportunity how can Ethan let it go.
Ethan charged forward and leapt into the air. He lifted his shield high and brought its edge crashing into the beast's face.
CRACK!
CRACK!
BANGGGG!
The shield slammed on the face of Ice Beast with brutal lethality.
A sickening cacophony of jolting of bones echoed one after another.
Blood sprayed out, staining the ice red. The bear howled, staggering, slipping on its own frozen mist.
A painful wail erupted from Ice Bear as its skull was bashed causing an influx of overhearing pain.
Its claws scraped the ground as it tried to rise and threw Ethan away.
But Ethan did not stop. He leapt, bringing his shield down with the weight of his whole body.
"You have fought enough!"
"Just lie down!"
BOOOOM.
The shield hammered into its skull once again. Blood splattered across Ethan's face. His eyes burned with fury as he raised the shield again and slammed it down as if possessed by rage.
With a rush of adrenaline and the effect of the breakthrough Card that restored his stamina and vitality,he attacked again and again.
The bear thrashed wildly. Its claws slashed the air, cutting deep lines into Ethan's side. Blood seeped from his wounds, but he did not let go. He wrapped his legs around the bear's neck, locking himself in place.
The Ice Bear roared in panic. It spun, twisting, slamming itself against the ground to throw him off. Each impact rattled his bones, but Ethan clung tighter. His shield rose and fell again and again.
BANG.

I am saddened to report that one of my very close relatives died.It was a sudden shocking demise.And I have to finish all the last rites and rituals.
So until 15th Sept,the update schedule will be irregular and release will be altered between my ongoing three books.
So,please don't give negative reviews for irregular updates as it will deter the reader..I have always tried to be consistent.And even with little bit of time I am able to collect,I am trying to write.
Until 15,I will try to put 2-3 chaps per week.
Once things calm down,I will start releasing regularly.
