Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Ball 2

"After several names had been called, the crowd grew restless. The important seventeen suitors were the people who remained to be called. Whispers spread through the crowd, and many believed that the next husband of Princess Aralyn would surely be chosen from among these seventeen. Eyes scanned around, each looking at where each of the seventeen suitors remained. The herald took his scroll and then said, 'The next seventeen people who are going to be called come from the highest echelons of nobility, the aristocrats whose wealth rivaled kingdoms, whose influence shaped entire regions, and whose bloodline traced back to legends.' The first name to be called from the distinguished guests is Duke Serafin Eldorai. He's the owner of the Eldorai mining empire, known for his vast holds of precious metals. Duke Serafin stepped forward, 'My king, if you make the princess mine, I shall give you a lot of precious gemstones, rubies, sapphires, diamonds, gold, crystal, opal, garnet, amethyst, silver, that contain magical essence. Even I am willing to exchange my precious family heirloom...A obsidian void stone....which is known for its energy absorption, teleportation, seal breaker, nullification and communication with the void...and many more my King

The king nodded his head as he did to every other contestant and dismissed him.

The herald called the second person, "Lord Thorn Embafo, he is the kingdom's best blacksmith." Duke Thorn Embafo came out and said, "My king, I am very worthy of the princess in marriage, as I am going to give you an ancient relic called... a sword. "Dusk carver the Shadowrend". And that sword can protect you from any evil. Also, in any place you use that sword, you will always win, and even if you don't, you can never get hurt." King Draelos thought in his mind, "This relic is quite powerful and will be useful in wars." He beckoned and dismissed him.

The herald called the third person, "Lord Kelon Voss, he is known for his magical power of being a seer, studying ancient prophecies, reading the stars." He calmly approached the stage and said, "I have something precious to offer , a crystal hub. And it's not ordinary; it's called the Eye of Eleva, an ancient relic said to be crafted by the first star-born mage. It allows you to see the future, glances, truth revealer, magic amplifier. It's also a kingdom protection. Once you have the crystal hub and it bonds with you, then you shall gain all these." The king nodded his head again and dismissed him.

Then the herald called the fourth person, "Duke Malia Stoken, he comes from the Firecrest Sanctum. His homeland is the Pirus nest, above volcanic peaks hidden by internal mist and heat."

"Their kind is said to be born of fire and song, blessed with longevity and rebirth magic." Duke Malis came forward and said, "I am presenting to you a phoenix feather. It is not just any feather; it is a divine feather. It has the ability to resurrect people, purify magic, bonding, shape-shift." Taking a breath, he added, "Offering a phoenix feather is like offering all parts of themselves." Phoenix feathers were very powerful, and the king dismissed him.

The fifth person was Lord Taylor Vedras from the Root Born Clan. He came out, and the treasure he had to offer was the Crown Root Throne Seed. It was an enchanted seed that, when planted beneath the royal palace, grows and has a root system called Throne Wood Beans. The root connects to every corner of the kingdom's land, allowing the king to sense disturbances, feel the presence of magical forces, and strengthen the land's fertility. "The seed is more powerful than you think, my king," Lord Taylor ended his speech with that. The king nodded his head, and the herald called the next person.

The sixth person was Duke Dreaven heir of the Dragon Clan. He came forward and said he was willing to offer the scale of a Dragon God. Duke Dreaven didn't talk much about what the scale does and said, "If the king gives me his daughter, I shall tell and give you the scale of the Dragon God."

Rhonex was still sitting, looking very nonchalant. He thought to himself, "He wondered what was so precious about Princess Aralyn that most people would trade very unique and precious royal relics in exchange for her." She was pretty and also had a very pure energy , maybe that was why most people wanted her for themselves. But one thing they didn't know was that she already belonged to him. For now, he would just enjoy the show.

It's been two hours; time was never really anything to Aralyn, but she was feeling every second ticking by as all these men brought something precious just in exchange for her. Inside, she was a freaking mess inside but outside, she just tried to fake a smile , the one she learned pretty well from her stepmother. But she didn't have a choice; she just had to sit and wait till the seventeen people were done bringing their treasures.

The herald then called the seventh person, which was Lord Taylor...

The seventh person, Lord Taylor, offered up the Moon Tears, which claimed that anyone who drank it would drink with the power of the person increased up to ten times.

The eighth person, Baron Lysandar, offered a Shadow Clock that granted invincibility, making even the strongest of foes unable to feel the presence of that person.

The ninth person, Lord Eldrin Caldar, offered Rooms of Binding, which was used to trap the spirits of demons and also suck their power.

The tenth person, Lord Eldrin Sulis, offered up a Map of the Lost Kingdoms, showing secret lands, real-time kingdom overview, enemy detection, resource striking, wealth prediction, and many more.

The eleventh person, Duke Tyral, offered a dagger that was magical. Anyone who was stabbed with this dagger, or if the dagger just lashed the person's skin at all, the person's power would be drained and given to the stabber.

The twelfth person, Silas the slayer, a well-known warrior who had been successful in all of his battles and had the most numbers of army in the kingdom, said that if the king gave up his daughter, then he would make sure to give the king armies to be able to fight his enemies.

The thirteenth person, Lord Lawcan Galen, offered up a shining emerald stone and said, "I believe this matches the king's eye color. It is a stone that gives power and wisdom. Once this emerald gemstone connects with you, you will know everything that needs to be known."

The fourteenth person, Lord George, offered up the Iron Marks of Silence. Anyone who wore it could not lie and it would be good at revealing traitors of the kingdom.

The fifteenth person, Lord Zephyril, came from the Wolf Clan and presented a Spirit Wolf Amulet. Whenever the king was in danger, the Wolf Clan would save him.

Everyone was waiting for the last two names, which were the princess's potential suitors...

The last two suitors were the princes of Eryndor and Velmoria Kingdoms. Suddenly, the Prince of Eryndor Kingdom rose up , Prince Dorian. He said what he had to offer the king was his kingdom, an alliance between the Kingdom of Eryndor and Dusk Helm. "It would be for the greater good, and this alliance is not just for power, but for the greater good, where kingdoms will unite to protect their people, share wisdom, and face the darkness together. Only through unity can peace and prosperity thrive."

Aralyn, who heard all that Prince Dorian said, prayed that her father would not call his name as her husband. Everyone in the kingdom knew what a pervert he was.

The next prince, Prince Corvin, came from Velmoria Kingdom. He had a lot of power; he was a vampire. Rumors had it that he didn't just drink blood, but drained power through his fangs. He said he had something to offer the king, which was immortality. Everybody knew that the vampires had a relic that could make someone immortal , it was his great father who had it. But people heard that Prince Corvin had actually removed it from his father weeks ago.

The king nodded, and then he turned to the demon and said, "Your name was not even among the suitors. What then brought you to my ball?"

Rhonex smiled, his usual devilish smile, and said, "Can't I come to celebrate with you at this ball?" Rhonex then disappeared and appeared in front of the king.

"The reason why I came here is the same reason why most people came here," he said, tilting his head at Aralyn. "Now that everyone is finally done presenting their awful gift, I... Lord Rhonex, the Demon Lord, shall present my gift."

The light in the ball suddenly dimmed, and the spotlight was on him. He then tilted his head...

How is it
