Chapter 13 - Episode 14 :- Ours To Begin

Time passed—not like a breeze this time, but like the golden hour stretching softly into dusk.

A few months had gone by since Aira stepped into Yuu's home with trembling hands and a soft smile.

Since Yuu spoke confidently with Aira's father, eyes unwavering.

And now…

[Scene: A small family gathering, early evening light filtering through windows]

Yuu's parents sat beside Aira's parents—no tension this time.

There were warm drinks in everyone's hands. Not a grand dinner table—just a comfortable kotatsu and the smell of fresh tea.

Aira sat beside her mother, and Yuu beside his father.

Their fingers brushed under the tablecloth, secretly, sweetly.

"So…" Yuu's mother spoke first, looking at Aira with a softness only time could build.

"I saw that online crochet class you started. The girls in your neighborhood adore you."

Aira blushed. "It's nothing big… I just wanted to teach like I would teach my own daughter someday."

A small smile lit the corners of Yuu's mother's lips.

Then Aira's father added, turning to Yuu,

"And that delivery app you designed for handmade sellers? It's actually useful. You've been investing wisely too. Seems like you've already started preparing for your own family."

Yuu bowed slightly.

"I want to build a life where we're safe and self-reliant. One where Aira can create freely, and we can raise our kids with love and peace."

There was a pause.

Then Aira's mother looked at both of them and said gently:

"Then… what are we waiting for?"

Yuu and Aira looked at each other.

And just like that, a breath they didn't know they were holding… was released.

Both families agreed—not because of pressure, not out of obligation.

But because they saw them. A team. A real one.

💍 A Dream Discussed, A Life Designed

That night, Yuu and Aira sat under the stars on a blanket outside her home.

"Aira," Yuu said, holding her hand, "I want our wedding to be peaceful. Not loud, not crowded… just beautiful. Just us. And the people who matter."

"I was thinking the same," Aira smiled. "Somewhere by a lake, maybe in the mountains. Wildflowers. Simple clothes. No gold. No noise. Just vows and dancing."

They both giggled.

Then slowly, Yuu reached into his bag and pulled out a tiny crochet ring Aira had once made him. He had stitched a small silver thread through it, like a promise.

"This is the first thing you gave me," he said.

"And now… I want to build a home with you. For real."

Aira's eyes welled up.

They talked for hours that night.

About how they'd parent their future kids—not with control, but with gentle hands and strong values.

They planned to homeschool them in early years.

Let them run barefoot, fall in love with books, and learn kindness before competition.

Yuu promised to cook breakfast every Sunday.

Aira promised to teach their kids how to express feelings—not hide them.

They even made a silly list:

Dogs (2)

Cats (1, clingy like Aira)

Chickens (for eggs and fun)

A rocking chair on the porch

A swing on a tree

Matching sweaters every winter

And a special line at the bottom:

"We'll dance in every place we visit."

🌿 Their Wedding

The venue was a small cottage in the hills beside a shimmering lake.

Aira wore an off-white, hand-crocheted gown with lavender threads woven through. No makeup, just soft eyes.

Yuu wore a light brown suit with his sleeves rolled up and hair slightly messy—just the way Aira liked.

Their families were there, along with a few close friends.

No heavy rituals. No scripted promises.

Just two lovers standing in wildflowers, whispering real words.

"I'll protect your softness," Yuu said.

"And I'll never let it harden," Aira replied.

They danced barefoot under string lights, giggling like the first time they met.

And that night, as the moon smiled gently over the water, they sat by the fire, legs tangled under a shawl Aira made, holding hands and dreaming of what was next.

💫 Final Scene: The Start of Forever

Back in their own little apartment near campus, newlywed but still themselves…

Aira placed a small framed photo of their lake wedding on the windowsill.

Yuu placed their first crochet project—an ugly, uneven heart—beside it.

"Not perfect," he laughed.

"But real," she smiled.

They weren't trying to prove anything anymore.

Because they had already done the hardest thing—

They held on when everyone else said let go.

And now…

They had a life to build.

A family to raise.

A world to paint with colors no one else could see.

Together.
