Chapter 408 - Truth

The father of the gods's wail?

Arthas wasn't surprised, because he already knew that the souls of five Titans had fallen into Sargeras's hands, and to "tame" these arrogant gods, Sargeras's first task was to break their pride.

Endless torment and pain were good ways to erode the Titans' will. In any case, before this, Sargeras had ample time to slowly torture the gods of the Pantheon.

But if it were just a god's cry for help, a father of the gods's wail, it wouldn't be enough to make Chromie look so terrified.

Moreover, judging by the chaotic magical flow around Chromie and her pale face, the earlier peeking had clearly caused her both physical and psychological harm.

After soothing Chromie's injuries with Holy Light and comforting her mind, Chromie finally caught her breath, her complexion gradually returned to normal, and she could once again organize her thoughts to speak.

"These... these distortions and voids in time and space... were caused by the father of the gods's power, but when I looked at these anomalies, endless chaos and destruction pressed down like a tsunami... Fortunately, I reacted quickly, otherwise my sanity might have been instantly shattered."

Chromie looked terrified. If she had been even a little slower in retracting her gaze, and had been affected by that destructive power, which was like the fall of dusk, even her soul would have been instantly scattered, leaving only a soulless husk.

She swallowed, not yet fully recovered from the fear of being on the brink of death, and her speech unconsciously sped up, "You, you should know that the power of our race comes from the blessing of the father of the gods. Aman'thul shared the mysteries of time and space with us, and only then did the Bronze Dragon race gain its current abilities."

The source of the temporal talent flowing in the Bronze Dragon's bloodline was Aman'thul, the father of the gods. When Aman'thul, at the request of the Titan Keepers, bestowed his blessing upon the native proto-dragons of Azeroth, the five-colored Guardian Dragons of later generations were born.

And the Bronze Dragon naturally established a subtle connection with Aman'thul. However, this connection became the fuse for the recent incident; Chromie suffered this undeserved calamity due to her link with Aman'thul.

But this also allowed her to learn some new information.

"Aman'thul is undergoing a terrible experience; it's not just ordinary torment and torture."

Chromie tried to recall everything she had perceived from the distorted time and space. Too many things happened in that instant, making her memory blurry, so she could only try her best to recount her experience.

After sorting through the chaotic information one by one, Chromie's expression grew even more terrified, because she had already understood what was truly hidden behind that chaotic time and space, mixed with destruction.

"The Dark Titan is personally dismantling Aman'thul's power! Oh my gods! If he succeeds, the consequences will be unimaginable!"

Chromie was suddenly in a panic. She seemed to have already foreseen Aman'thul's fate. After the father of the gods's authority was completely plundered by Sargeras, how terrifying would that Dark Titan become?

The terrifying demon god on the other side of the Well of Eternity portal ten thousand years ago was almost a nightmare in the hearts of the Dragons who had participated in the fight against the Burning Legion.

It was unknown which unlucky Dragon had a "glimpse," causing him to inadvertently notice a terrifying demon god far beyond their comprehension. The gap between a Dragon and Sargeras was even greater than the gap between a Dragon and an ant. The fear from biological instinct could crush a Dragon's mind in an instant.

The bad thing was that the Dragon's knowledge and heritage would spread through the bloodline. Sargeras's terror quickly spread like a plague throughout the Dragonflights. Even after many years, many young Dragons could hardly remember this incident, but when they saw Sargeras with their own eyes, that overwhelming despair would instantly make them give up resistance.

"Dismantling Aman'thul's power?"

Arthas also realized the seriousness of the problem. Sargeras was no longer even preparing to leave the Titans' souls to twist them?

This was not good news. If Sargeras truly chose to directly devour the power and authority of other Titans, concentrating all the great power within himself, then the real universe would face a terrible catastrophe.

What was worse was that, in Arthas's estimation, Sargeras was very likely unable to truly fuse the power of a second Titan, otherwise he would have done so long ago, without having to spend time and effort trying to corrupt the Titans and then make them serve him.

Devouring other Titans would most likely cause some irreversible consequences. The worst-case scenario was that Sargeras would be unable to bear the spirits and powers of the other Titans. When the memories of several gods were all mixed together, it would give birth to a monster that had completely lost its sanity and would only act on instinct.

Dealing with a Dark Titan who still had sanity and purpose might be difficult, but a method could always be found, because Sargeras was not without desires; he had his own ideas and ambitions, and thus weaknesses and vulnerabilities would inevitably arise.

But if Sargeras himself abandoned his sanity and instead fully embraced madness and destruction, Arthas believed that the cost of stopping him would probably be too great for everyone to bear.

After a moment of thought, Arthas awakened the will of Eonar in the mark and relayed the situation to her.

And after Eonar awoke and listened to Arthas's words, this Guardian of Life, the supreme Titan god, fell into a long silence.

It wasn't until Jaina and Chromie could hardly bear this desperate silence that Eonar slowly spoke, "If everything this little Dragon saw is true, then the worst-case scenario has probably already happened."

Just as Arthas thought, the souls of the Titans were quite resilient. Even Sargeras could not devour a Titan's power and authority without any cost, otherwise he would not have imprisoned several of his brethren for tens of thousands of years, trying to control their power in another way.

"But the Sargeras of now has probably taken that forbidden step. He no longer has any qualms. To achieve his goal, he is even willing to destroy himself... Once he has extracted the father of the gods's power, he will certainly target other Titans because the original balance of his own power will be broken. He will become a killing machine driven by power and authority, with only the instinct to plunder everything remaining..."

Even Eonar's voice carried fear and panic. If Sargeras truly succeeded, nothing in this universe would be able to stop him, because at that time, Sargeras would no longer be merely a Titan, but a pure embodiment of destruction.

He would not need sanity, he would not need any qualms, the only thing he would do is unleash his destructive and twisted instincts, eliminating everything in the universe, and that includes Azeroth, which he cannot yet reach.
