Chapter 37: Unable to Block Even a Single Move!

"Soul Master!"

All the students in the Spirit Fighting Arena gasped, a hushed silence ensuing.

"How is that possible? How old is he?"

Someone finally came to their senses, their face filled with disbelief and confusion.

On the podium, the four deans simultaneously looked at Shui Xinrou, the dean of Tianshui College. After all, Liu Yanyang was close to her daughter.

"Dean Shui, excuse me, how old is Liu Yanyang?"

Lei Ya, the dean of Thunder College, finally couldn't contain his curiosity, and at the same time, a hint of anger. The cooked duck was about to fly away.

"Seventeen!" Shui Xinrou said slowly. (P.S.: Real age is twelve!)

She gave an age that everyone could accept. After all, with the interference of "Chengying," these people had no idea she was lying unless they directly measured her bone age.

As for why no one cared about the inability to sense Liu Yanyang's specific spirit power and age—

In this world, spirits and spirit beasts are full of strange and bizarre things. The appearance of one or two that block perception is common, and for them, it's just a matter of curiosity.

The curiosity of Hu Yanzhen, the leader of the Elephant Armor Sect, gradually faded.

He had originally planned to report this news to the Pope's Hall. After all, as the flag bearer of the Elemental Academy, it was his duty.

But upon hearing that Liu Yanyang was only seventeen, he abandoned the idea.

After all, the Spirit Hall's golden generation all reached this level of strength. Moreover, the Pope's disciple, Hu Liena, had already broken through Level 40, having only just turned sixteen!

He stopped dwelling on it and focused his attention on the Spirit Fighting Arena.

On the stage, Yu Tianxin was horrified, unable to believe what he was seeing. Was his grandfather's painstakingly crafted plan about to fail?

"No!" his heart pounded. He couldn't fail. A True Dragon was proud, and his dignity wouldn't allow him to fail.

Then, with a loud roar, the spirit rings beneath his feet illuminated.

"First Spirit Skill—Thunder Dragon Claw!"

"Third Spirit Skill—Thundergod's Wrath!"

The dragon claw on his right hand radiated with blue-purple lightning, and his spirit power surged violently.

With bloodshot eyes, he glared at Liu Yanyang and roared. Yu Tianxin charged forward, clawing at Liu Yanyang with his dragon claw.

"Idiot!" Liu Yanyang shook his head and cursed inwardly.

He had originally intended to play a trick on Yu Tianxin, but seeing him already in a state of rampage, he lost interest.

Then, two spirit rings shone beneath his feet.

"Second Spirit Skill—Breaking the Army!"

"Third Spirit Skill—Unyielding!"

Liu Yanyang's momentum suddenly surged, his strength greatly increased. A golden glow coated the blade of the Dragon Roar Spear.

He thrust the spear forward with one hand, the tip pointing directly at Yu Tianxin's right hand.

Feeling the razor-sharp cold light and unstoppable momentum from the Dragon Roar Spear's tip,

Yu Tianxin regained some of his lost sanity. His instincts told him he couldn't withstand the blow, but it was too late.

"Ah!" a scream rang out.

The blue-purple dragon claw made contact with the spear, piercing it directly with the sharp tip. Blood immediately flowed from the claw, and Yu Tianxin howled in agony.

Seizing this opportunity, Liu Yanyang drew his Dragon Roar Spear and, with a single swing, struck Yu Tianxin in the chest, sending him flying. He landed on the ground below, tumbling several times before finally coming to rest, his chest already sagging, and he passed out.

In the fighting arena, a pin drop was heard, a cacophony of silence fell, and everyone was stunned by the scene before them. Yu Tianxin, known as the world's greatest beast spirit, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon and one of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Twins, was defeated in a single blow.

Even if it was a Soul Master versus a Soul Master, this victory was far too easy.

Shui Xinrou stood up and clapped her hands, and the students in the audience followed suit.

Amidst the roaring applause, Liu Yanyang sheathed his Dragon Roar Spear, walked off the stage, and sat next to Shui Bing'er.

"I'm sorry for taking matters into my own hands and even being a little disrespectful to you!" Liu Yanyang felt a little embarrassed. In that situation, he had to take the initiative, otherwise he might be attacked by everyone.

"It's not your fault, it's my fault. That led to Yu Tianxin's scheme against you. No need to apologize," Shui Bing'er said softly, shaking her head.

Liu Yanyang wanted to say something else, but when he saw Shui Bing'er looking toward the stage, he sighed softly and closed his eyes to rest.

"Alright, now that the winner is decided, let's officially begin today's exchange competition," the powerful voice rang out again.

Each academy sent its students to compete in 1vs1 and 2vs2 matches. The five elemental academies would also send their teams to compete in a sparring match.

Dusk was approaching, and today's exchange competition was drawing to a close. Liu Yanyang slowly opened his eyes, his gaze meeting Shui Bing'er's.

"There's a social gathering tonight. Do you want to go?" Shui Bing'er whispered, her gaze fixed on Liu Yanyang.

Liu Yanyang pondered for a moment, then shook his head, his tone calm.

"No, I'm not particularly interested in such a party. Get some rest tonight. I'm leaving Tianshui City tomorrow morning."

"Didn't you promise Mother you'd stay a few days longer?" Shui Bing'er asked anxiously.

"I've met the geniuses of the five elemental academies. My goal has been achieved, so there's not much point in staying."

Shui Bing'er said nothing more, though a flicker of disappointment and reluctance flashed in her eyes.

She looked at Liu Yanyang, took a deep breath, and her gaze suddenly firmed, as if she had made some kind of decision.

After the competition, after bidding farewell to Shui Bing'er, Liu Yanyang returned to the Water Mansion alone. Entering the guest room, he collapsed onto the bed.

Both the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and the Spirit Hall had already begun to make moves.

It was unclear whether his appearance would alter the plot's trajectory; he hadn't anticipated merely separating Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan.

He'd actually given Yu Luomian, that scoundrel, a glimmer of hope. Who knew what the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's fate would be?

Since the plot was spiraling out of control, he had to quickly secure whatever resources he could and plan for the future!

...

Deep in the night, Liu Yanyang faintly heard a noise from his deep sleep.

Drowsily, he opened his eyes and sensed a knock on the door. He struggled to get up; after all, no one likes to be disturbed when they're sound asleep.

He opened the door to Shui Bing'er, dressed in a long, blue, halter-strap dress, standing there with her hands behind her back.

"Sorry to bother you so late!"

"It's okay. I just went to bed, too."

"I have something to tell you. Can you come with me to the courtyard?"

"Sure!" Liu Yanyang nodded. He didn't know what Shui Bing'er was going to say, but if she came to him so late at night, it must be something urgent.

He followed Shui Bing'er into the courtyard and slowly came to a secluded spot where a large, flat, blue-gray stone lay.

Shui Bing'er sat on the stone, Liu Yanyang beside her.

Looking at the calm lake, Shui Bing'er mustered up the courage to look at Liu Yanyang and said,

"Would you like to hear my story?"
