Ivy's POV
I pursued the deer with single-minded focus, ignoring the persistent male wolf who sought our attention. He playfully nipped at our heels and attempted to engage us in games, but my mind was fixed on the hunt. I skidded to a halt with Adler stopping beside me. Before he could speak, I lowered my body and crept under the bush ahead of us.
In the clearing stood our prey—a magnificent buck with alert eyes and twitching ears scanning for danger. Sensing Adler sink down next to us, I noticed his posture change as he spotted the deer. Without verbal communication, we separated to encircle our quarry, moving with practiced precision. We lunged simultaneously, a perfect hunting unit. I went straight for the throat while he tackled the buck, bringing it down to the ground. Blood rushed into my mouth as our teeth penetrated the buck's neck.
Inside our shared consciousness, Astrid's voice rang with amusement as she felt Ivy's discomfort.
