Ivy's POV
"What?" My mind went blank for a moment. Did I hear him correctly? "The king?"
His deep chuckle resonated through the phone, sending an unexpected wave of heat through my body. "Yes, pup. I am the king. Now go save your father. Once you've handled it, let him know I'll be there soon." His tone darkened suddenly, taking on a dangerous edge that made me shiver.
"Okay... I will," I managed to say, my voice sounding small even to my own ears.
"Oh, and Ivy?"
"Yes?"
"Tell Grant he should have used the proper channels instead of calling my personal cell. There are protocols in place for a reason." He paused. "But I'll overlook it this time considering the emergency."
"Will do, your majesty," I replied automatically.
His laughter burst through the phone, rich and genuine. "You don't need to call me that, little wolf. But make sure Grant gives you my number. I prefer all my alphas to have direct access in case of situations like this."
