Ivy's POV
"Killian. Stop." My head snapped toward the sound of Alpha Rober's command as his light grey wolf form slid into the clearing. "Please," he added.
The other wolves gasped at his polite addition. His wolf wasn't foolish though—he recognized I was twice his size and equally vicious. Smart man.
I turned back to the group of wolves and deliberately sat down, displaying my control over the situation. "They attacked me," I stated simply.
"We did not!" Ada—or rather, her wolf—yelled back indignantly.
Rober ignored her outburst, focusing solely on me. "What happened?" His clear preference for hearing my side first didn't go unnoticed by anyone present.
"I was chasing a deer. I thought as a student, I was safe to roam these woods," I explained calmly.
"And you are," he responded without hesitation.
Genuine surprise widened my eyes. "Then why did that little brown wolf—the one I haven't even met—intercept me? Why did they surround me like prey?"
