She called back, taunting the massive gray wolf, and I could only groan internally. Killian was playing a dangerous game with this stranger.
"If he wants my name, he has to prove he's worthy of it," she responded to my unspoken frustration. A satisfied chuff escaped her throat as she added, "Any man that wants anything from me from now on has to work for it."
Memories from my human life flashed through our shared consciousness—Warren's betrayals, his false promises, and ultimately his final act of violence that took both my life and our unborn child's. The realization hit me hard.
"You're right," I conceded.
