Ivy's POV
My mother nodded thoughtfully as she studied me. "I know you're responsible with money. I just want to ensure you have enough for everything you need." She chewed her bottom lip, clearly calculating something in her head.
I turned my attention back to Mrs. Zephyr. "What's the standard amount most students add to their cards?"
"Let me check." Her fingers danced across the keyboard before she looked up. "Beta ranks and below typically load between twenty-five and forty thousand dollars. Alphas tend to add considerably more."
"Why the difference?" My mother continued her mental calculations while I suppressed a laugh at her concentration.
Mrs. Zephyr adjusted her glasses. "Well, Alphas have exclusive access to certain campus establishments. Plus..." She hesitated, her voice trailing off.
"What is it?" I urged her to continue.
