Chapter 230 - Chapter 230 About To Separate

Su Qing and Jiang Sui didn't do anything out of line just because they lived together.

In fact, the young man became even more well-behaved than before.

This rule continued into college.

On the campuses of Peking University, there's a story circulating.

It's the story of Jiang Sui, the campus hunk from the law field, and Su Qing, a student from the medical field.

The two had been inseparable since their freshman year.

Of course, the sensational couple who started school two days later were enviable.

Many people weren't without aspirations for Su Qing and Jiang Sui, but they felt they weren't destined for such a relationship.

Those who were prettier than Su Qing weren't as good at studying, and those who were better at studying weren't as pretty as her.

As for those who pursued Jiang Sui, they'd never seen a handsome man with a touch more humane than the King of Hell pass the law exam in his freshman year.

Such a daunting academic, a flower on the mountain top, could only be admired from afar.

Su Qing's academic journey had always been smooth.

Aside from those minor hiccups, it was a smooth one.

Su Qing never encountered any difficulties in her studies.

Her major was clinical medicine, and after graduation, Su Qing chose to pursue further studies, but this time was different.

Because she had a fiancé, Jiang Sui.

The engagement ceremony was simple.

Su Qing still wore the engagement ring the boy had given her. Closing her textbook, she saw the boy waiting for her at the door.

He leaned against the door, his eyes, a pair of distinct black and white, staring intently at her.

"Qing Qing, your husband is here to see you."

"Oh my god, every time I see Jiang Sui, I think to myself, how handsome this guy is!"

"He's so handsome, just downright handsome! Haven't you seen the news? This handsome guy has sent so many people to prison."

Amidst the chatter, a smile flickered across Su Qing's eyes.

The young man's excellence was daunting.

Both of them studied for their bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, but she could never catch up with the young man. When she was promoted to graduate school, the young man had already started studying for a doctorate.

Su Qing still remembered when she was just starting medical field and was introduced to human anatomy.

She couldn't eat everyday, and the young man cooked in the small apartment.

Walking up to Jiang Sui, Su Qing took his arm.

"Why are you leaving get out of class so early today?"

Jiang Sui reached out and smoothed Su Qing's hair down her forehead, then looked at her.

"Qing Qing, I'm planning to graduate early."

Su Qing pursed her lips and looked at Jiang Sui. "Why?"

How could a newly minted doctoral candidate be graduating out of nowhere? Her eyes were filled with confusion, and her heart was also filled with anxiety and uneasiness.

She grasped Jiang Sui's arm.

"Do you know?"

Su Qing shielded her eyes, pursed her lips, and looked a little unhappy.

The young man's handsome face, looking at the hand still not resting on his wrist, took the initiative to hold her hand.

"Yes."

"Studying abroad is a good thing for you. Why are you hiding it from me?"

Her advisor had already told Su Qing about this long ago, but Su Qing had always been reluctant.

Because of Jiang Sui's presence, she didn't want to be separated from him, so she declined the advisor's offer.

But to her surprise, Jiang Sui knew.

She pursed her lips.

"I don't want to go for further studies."

Jiang Sui pinched Su Qing's fingers.

"Qing Qing, you're lying. You want to go, but you just don't want to leave me."

Jiang Sui's words made Su Qing's fingers stiffen for a moment. For someone in academic research, clinical medicine offers endless possibilities, so the more she learns, the better it is for her.

But at this moment, she decided to isolate herself and not pursue further studies. She had a better option, so she chose not to.

"No, I just don't want to go."

Su Qing bit her lip, looking at the boy with a determined gaze.

She naturally knew what the boy meant by graduating early.

He was the best talent, and he had the opportunity to further his studies. However, without telling her, he insisted on accompanying her throughout her college years. And Su Qing knew that if Jiang Sui hadn't studied at the same university for his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, he probably wouldn't have chosen to skip a grade.

Su Qing didn't like this.

He had spent so much energy and time on her, and her boy deserved the best.

"Qing Qing, be good. Be obedient. I'll be with you wherever you go."

Su Qing bit her lip and shook her head.

"Jiang Sui, it is good inside country too."

"Qing Qing, isn't academic research about letting a hundred flowers bloom? Isn't that what Doctor Su told me, huh?"

Su Qing pursed her lips; it was true.

"Jiang Sui, you've always been there for me."

"Use your future, your excellence, to make way for me. Why didn't you go to Stanford then? Why do you insist on me pursuing further studies now?"

Su Qing's eyes were red as she sat in the car, tears streaming down her face.

The young man's hands gripped the steering wheel, always afraid that he'd softened his heart for a moment.

Seeing her tears, Jiang Sui felt that whatever she wanted was fine.

But deep down, Jiang Sui knew he would never let her down.

Others might not know Su Qing's talent, but Jiang Sui knew it. She had studied countless medical techniques to treat him, a talent earned through her diligence.

That summer, when Mei Yeqin approached him, she said she had never met a girl so fearless of hard work.

Su Qing buried herself in the lab day and night.

She was terrified of corpses and skeletons. Everytime she saw them, her face turned pale, she vomited uncontrollably, and she couldn't eat. Yet, she persevered.

She had chosen this passion for himself, and he couldn't let Su Qing's wings be broken again.

Listening to Su Qing's words, the boy's eyes flickered with sadness. He pursed his lips and wiped Su Qing's tears with a wet tissue.

"You're so big still crying? Why didn't I realize you were such a tearful person before?"

Jiang Sui's voice was gentle. Over the years, he still had that coldness, but when facing Su Qing, the aloofness and reserved coldness had long since vanished, leaving only tenderness in his heart and eyes.

The girl's hair had already reached her waist.

Her face was even more beautiful.

Biting her lip, she looked at him, her eyes filled with sadness.

"Jiang Sui, don't change the subject. You're bad, don't you? You always make me feel guilty and sad, and I'm always thinking about how to make amends."

Her tears couldn't be stopped, and they kept falling.

Su Qing bit her lip and looked at Jiang Sui.

He wiped her tears so gently, and there was sadness in his eyes, too. But why did he insist on letting her go?

Su Qing was confused and shook her head.

"Jiang Sui, I'm not leaving. I've already rejected the application for further study."

Su Qing leaned back on her seat. They had been together for so many years.

She knew he loved her, but sometimes, she still didn't know what Jiang Sui was thinking.

She was not only his girlfriend, but also his doctor and fiancée. How could she not know what he was thinking?

Su Qing even tried to get them to be together for real, but Jiang Sui preferred to restrain himself and coax her.

He said it wasn't the right time.

Leaning over, Su Qing embraced Jiang Sui.

He looked incredibly handsome in his suit, a scar still visible between his brows. She lay in his arms.

"Let's get married. Aren't we both of legal age? Jiang Sui, why haven't you married me yet?"

Su Qing's voice was thick with uncontrollable resentment, and every tear broke Jiang Sui's heart.

Jiang Sui pursed his lips, reached out to embrace Su Qing, and gently patted her back.

"Qing Qing, don't you dare say that again!"

"Did you hear me? The proposal was my business. Don't say that again!"

His voice was clear, yet deep and mature.

Su Qing shook her head.

"I don't know. Tell me, why won't you marry me!"

"I won't go for further studies."

Su Qing pursed her lips, rejecting Jiang Sui.

Jiang Sui wiped her tears, his eyes filled with affection. This was a love that Su Qing could see. She knew he loved her so much, so why would he push her away? Su Qing didn't understand.

"Qing Qing, don't throw a tantrum. I've already sent the further studies and the documents to your advisor. The notice should be here in a few days."

Jiang Sui's fingertips were slightly cool, brushing against Su Qing's face.

Su Qing's eyes widened in disbelief.

She couldn't believe what Jiang Sui had said.

"Jiang Sui, you lied to me!"

Jiang Sui shook his head, swallowing back the stinging pain in his heart. "No, Qing Qing, just log in to your email and you'll see."

Su Qing rose from Jiang Sui's embrace and leaned back against the back of seat. With trembling fingers, she pulled her phone from her bag, staring at the screen without blinking.

The moment she saw the email "Sent"...

Her tears fell silently, and she felt like she had shed all the tears she could in her life.

"Why?"

Su Qing pursed her lips.

"If you like me, you'll do anything for me. If I like you, can't I do this for you? Do you have to push me away?"

Su Qing clutched her phone, her fingertips almost white. She bit her lip, her entire body clearly shattered.

Over the years, Jiang Sui had never made her this sad. They might have argued occasionally, but he would never let her cry.

He wouldn't let her cry.

Su Qing turned her head to look at the silent boy. Every part of his handsome features spoke of sadness. His thin lips were pursed, and he never defended himself.

"Jiang Sui, don't you like me anymore?"

Su Qing's eyes were red as she looked at Jiang Sui.

She had thought about so many things about them, so many futures, but she had never expected it to end right here.

As soon as Su Qing finished speaking, she saw the young man's eyes, looking up at her. He stared at her with a blazing gaze that could burn her.

The young man, who would have been cold by now, simply said one sentence.

"Qing Qing, stop talking nonsense."
