After the plane landed.
Jiang Sui noticed the girl's haggard appearance along the way, so he took her straight to the hospital as soon as they got off the plane.
"I'm fine. No need to go."
Su Qing pursed her lips. The pain in her stomach was heartbreaking. Her emotions were tinged with sadness, and she was completely enveloped by a deep sense of melancholy.
Jiang Sui pinched her cold fingers.
"Qing Qing, what's wrong with you? Tell me."
The young man was extremely anxious. He had noticed something was wrong with her in the plane, but Su Qing had always told him she was fine.
But her face was so pale, how could she be fine? The young man clearly didn't believe it.
Su Qing pursed her lips and looked at the driver in front of her, a hint of embarrassment on her face.
"Tell the driver to turn around. I don't need to go to the hospital. I'm going home."
Stepping aside, Su Qing didn't want to look at Jiang Sui. She lowered her head and whispered softly in the boy's ear.
"I'm fine. I'm having my period."
After she finished speaking, Su Qing's forehead was covered in sweat. She hadn't felt this much pain before, but this time it was intense, too much to bear.
Jiang Sui looked up. After a moment's pause, he suddenly understood, watching beads of sweat form on Su Qing's forehead.
"Okay, let's go back first."
Su Qing finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Jiangcheng No. 1 Middle School was located in the suburbs, so the airport wasn't far away.
Twenty minutes later, the two of them had reached the gate of the residential complex.
Jiang Sui wanted to lift Su Qing, but she refused. She squeezed his fingers, "Hold my hand, please."
The moment the girl showed weakness, Jiang Sui finally agreed.
Naturally, he had learned some of this in biology class. The boy frowned as he opened the door. He found himself in an apartment, not very large, with two bedrooms and a living room.
One bedroom was upstairs, the other downstairs.
The interior was immaculately clean, the decor simple yet warm.
Su Qing stood in the doorway. Although distressed, she remained attentive to the boy.
Because of Jiang Sui's illness, Mei Yeqin had briefly mentioned something the boy was sensitive about.
It was clear how important Su Qing was to Jiang Sui's heart. She must have been like Jiang Sui's mother.
Jiang Sui couldn't wait to carry Su Qing to the sofa.
When Su Qing cried out in surprise, she didn't resist the young man.
This gesture seemed to please the young man.
"Qing Qing, wait a minute. I'll go heat up some water."
Jiang Sui carefully placed Su Qing on the sofa, found a blanket to cover her, put a pillow under it and gave it to Su Qing, then turned and went to the kitchen.
It pain so much, Su Qing pursed her lips, breathing lightly.
He had always taken meticulous care of her.
As if worried she'd get bored, the boy, halfway through his walk, turned back on the TV and placed the remote next to Su Qing.
"Qing Qing, watch a while. If the pain gets too severe, call me."
This kind of physical pain was beyond Jiang Sui's comprehension, but he had seen it before, when he opened his phone. Period pain is usually around level four or five, roughly the same level as a broken bone.
Worried, Jiang Sui searched numerous sources for information and compared them for accuracy. It seemed there was no brown sugar or red dates in the refrigerator.
While heating the water, Jiang Sui placed an order in his phone.
He left with the hot water.
"Qing Qing, drink some water first."
Lying on the sofa, Su Qing was actually feeling much better. She looked at Jiang Sui and said, "I'm fine."
After drinking some water, Su Qing felt noticeably better.
The doorbell suddenly rang, startling Su Qing. She felt a little uneasy, because this wasn't her home after all.
"Qing Qing, I've transferred the ownership of this house to your name, so this is your home."
The boy looked at her, his eyes burning. When the phone rang, he wanted to say something, but after looking at Su Qing, he said, "Wait a minute," then walked to the door with his phone in hand.
Jiang Sui ordered take out for a quick delivery, even expediting it for those who had received a red envelope. When the young man walked in with the bag, he noticed Su Qing, who had been lying on the sofa, had sat up, her eyes fixed on him.
"Jiang Sui, come here."
Her tone was calm, her face expressionless, but the boy knew she was angry.
Jiang Sui cupped the object in his palm, placed it on the coffee table, and then half-knelt in front of him.
Jiang Sui seemed to enjoy this gesture immensely. It allowed him to feel their intimacy while also allowing him to see every expression and emotion of her.
It felt like a protective gesture.
"Qing Qing, are you blaming me?"
The boy's voice was low, and a perpetual apathy lingered on his handsome face, a look that refused to fade. Despite his best efforts to conceal it, Su Qing could still sense it.
Su Qing shook her head.
"No, it's just that something like this is too valuable for me. This is..."
Su Qing couldn't bring herself to say it, but the boy stared at her and slowly spoke the words she hadn't spoken.
"Qing Qing wants to say this is something my mother left for me. Isn't that what I should be doing?"
Su Qing clearly saw the courage and desperation in the boy's eyes, his shattered pupils.
He'd given her everything.
"Qing Qing, you don't want to accept it, is it because you can't accept me?"
Jiang Sui lowered his head, his expression a little gloomy, his eyes deep with suppressed emotions, seemingly on the verge of exploding. Su Qing took his hand and shook her head.
"That's not the case."
"It's just that I think this is your most precious thing."
Su Qing didn't want to accept it, but she knew how much it meant to Jiang Sui and felt she couldn't, couldn't, accept it.
"Qing Qing, ever since my mother passed away, I haven't had anyone close to me, until I met you."
She was his medicine, and he was poisoned by her.
He was terminally ill.
The boy had been experiencing unusual mood swings lately, and Su Qing knew his condition was worsening.
He was always punctual in taking his medicine, but his heart was becoming increasingly hidden.
Su Qing knew this was related to Su Rao's passed away, but she couldn't find the crucial link, so she couldn't resolve his pain.
He had been trapped in his own feelings, feeling he hadn't taken care of herself.
So he wanted the best, or even everything, for her.
Su Qing knew this feeling.
"Qing Qing, lie down for a while. I'll make you some brown sugar drink."
The boy had recently learned to avoid it.
Su Qing didn't stop him, but sighed softly as she watched him walk away.
