"That's right, this was beyond my expectations as well."
"The immense energy contained within the scepter is actually alive, it has its own consciousness!"
Tony's voice rang out as he solemnly explained to Nick Fury.
"So, you're telling me the scepter itself is a… super AI?"
The Director confirmed, sounding a bit incredulous.
"That's why I said things weren't that simple."
"And I finally understand how that other me failed."
Tony's eyes gleamed as he laid out his theory to Nick Fury. "It's because of the Stone, or rather, because of the Stone's programming!"
"It conflicted with Jarvis, attacking each other. It's possible it completely defeated Jarvis, or maybe they were both damaged."
"But ultimately, Ultron's core wasn't Jarvis. It was something new, something beyond my control."
"That's why it wants to wipe out humanity."
This had been one of the things Tony couldn't understand.
Things like, a robot can't harm humans, those things were written into the source code, how could an intelligent robot go against them?
Only now did Tony realize.
After all this time, it was the Mind Stone's programming that destroyed the source code he wrote! So, using the Mind Stone to create robots wasn't simply creating an intelligent robot.
To avoid the "intelligence program" within the Mind Stone from conflicting with and attacking the intelligence program of the intelligent robot, it was necessary to completely decipher the program within the Mind Stone.
And this was a very, very difficult task.
"Are you decoding the code of the scepter?"
Nick Fury stared at the scepter in front of him for a moment, making an obvious guess.
"This process has been going on for more than ten days, but, how should I put it, it's not as optimistic as imagined."
"In fact, it's far less optimistic than imagined."
"Jarvis can only decode a portion of it, with a large part being undecipherable."
"Even for those parts that can be decoded, it still takes a lot of time. Jarvis's computing power isn't quite enough."
Tony nodded, once again explaining the situation to Nick Fury.
And this was, in fact, the main reason for Tony's failure in the movie.
The Avengers destroyed Baron Strucker's base and obtained the scepter, but they only had a mere three days before it had to be transferred to S.H.I.E.L.D.
Tony was rushing to conduct his research during those three days.
He even forcibly downloaded the data within the scepter without completely decoding it!
In other words, Tony downloaded an intelligent program that he didn't fully understand!
This was what led to the tragedy.
"So, how long would it take to completely decode the scepter?"
After a slight pause, Nick Fury stared at Tony and asked solemnly.
"I can't give an exact answer. Judging by the current progress, it could be months, or even years."
Tony shrugged helplessly. "It's the Infinity Stones!"
The most powerful things in the universe, how could a small artificial intelligence on Earth easily decipher them?
After realizing this, Tony actually had a vague idea of how that other version of himself had failed.
If it were normally, with Tony's personality, he wouldn't have waited this long.
His style had always been to act first and ask questions later.
If he saw that it would take so long to decipher the code of the scepter, he probably wouldn't have the patience.
He would most likely have chosen to download the scepter's program first and use it, then figure it out later.
As a result, it led to tragedy.
And now?
Having learned the painful lesson of the failed Ultron, as revealed in the diary, Tony wouldn't dare rush things!
Not just Tony, but Nick Fury felt the same way.
Both of them were thinking the same thing, actually.
Even though the wait was a bit unbearable, they had to wait for the sake of caution, no matter how long it took.
No one wanted to repeat the tragedy of the failed Ultron.
"This is a long-term battle!"
Nick Fury just shook his head and sighed, nothing more. "Stark, it seems we still have a lot of work to do."
"I love a challenge!"
The playboy shrugged and continued with his work.
Nick Fury, needless to say, provided all the resources he could, fully supporting the playboy's work.
Later, because the progress wasn't satisfactory to either side, even Dr. Banner joined in.
But it was a pity.
Something like an Infinity Stone wasn't so easy to decode.
Over three months passed, and the scepter was only fifty percent decoded.
Note that this was only the parts that could be decoded.
Based on this progress, Vision's birth is really uncertain.
Even so, considering Ultron's disastrous example, neither Nick Fury, Tony, nor Dr. Banner dared to rush.
Everyone held their patience, waiting for Jarvis to decode.
Even if it was a truly long, agonizing wait.
Of course.
During this time, Nick Fury and Tony weren't idle.
Besides having Jarvis decipher the scepter's code, the two of them also worked together on other things.
"Ulysses Klaue, a black market arms dealer, has confirmed that he indeed possesses a large amount of Vibranium."
"Stark, not the small amount your father used to make the Captain's shield, but a very large amount of Vibranium."
"So much that we could use it to build a luxurious robot."
"I've made the arrangements, and we should have the Vibranium in hand in at most half a month."
Inside the secret experimental base, Nick Fury, who was meeting again, began to brief Tony on the situation.
"Wait a minute, Klaue?"
Tony raised an eyebrow.
Judging by the way things were going, he knew that guy Klaue!
After all, they were both in the arms dealing business, though Klaue's was of the shadier variety. Still, it was true, Tony did know him.
But the playboy hadn't expected Klaue to be holding a large amount of Vibranium.
He'd read the spoiler in the diary, something about only Iron Heart in the entire world being able to make a Vibranium detector. With such an exaggerated tone, Tony had thought Vibranium would be hard to find.
And yet, a black market arms dealer had some?
"That's right, Klaue."
Nick Fury nodded. "Your father, Howard, bought Vibranium from Klaue's family."
"That damn swindler, he told Howard it was the last Vibranium in the world, and jacked up the price several times over."
That was right.
Tony's old man had bought Vibranium from Klaue's old man!
The Klaue family had been dealing in Vibranium for generations.
"And what about your side?"
After introducing his own situation, Nick Fury began to inquire about Tony's progress.
"I've already spoken with Helen Cho."
"We both agree that the Regeneration Cradle can meet our requirements, creating a truly perfect Vibranium body."
"Furthermore... Helen Cho is willing to join the experiment."
"So, yes, Helen Cho's end is not a problem."
Tony also informed the Director about his progress.
The Director nodded, now knowing what was going on.
It seemed that everything was progressing smoothly, except for the scepter.
But the scepter situation was truly something that couldn't be rushed.
And at the same moment.
Inside a museum in London.
"Bye, Wesley."
"Bye, Hannah."
"Sersi, I'll give you a ride; I'm going that way."
"Thank you, but no, thank you."
Having finished her work for the day, Sersi packed her things and began walking down the long corridor.
Along the way, everyone Sersi encountered greeted her with great courtesy and enthusiasm.
This beautiful, knowledgeable researcher, who exuded an air of nobility, was very popular in the museum.
There were even quite a few men who came up to Sersi to try and win her favor.
It was a pity, though.
Sersi had been on Earth for seven thousand years and had even had a centuries-long romance with Ikaris.
How could ordinary men possibly catch her eye?
Sersi politely declined.
Just like any other ordinary person on Earth, Sersi chose to take the bus home.
She sat by the window, watching the various landscapes and people of Earth.
She felt an immense sense of fulfillment within.
There was also a subtle sense of accomplishment.
No one knew that the woman sitting in the back seat, listening to music through her headphones and gazing out the window, had actually made an indelible contribution to the propagation and development of human civilization.
One could even say that she greatly promoted the development of human civilization.
5000 BC.
All places on Earth, except for Wakanda, were essentially in the early stages of civilization, at the late Neolithic period.
On the Mesopotamian plain, after a great battle between the Eternals and the Deviants, Sersi turned a stone knife into a copper tool and gave it to the local natives.
Human civilization underwent a huge transformation as a result.
Of course.
It wasn't just Sersi; the other Eternals also advanced human civilization to varying degrees.
1894 BC.
The Eternals helped humans build the ancient city of Babylon. Sersi taught the locals agriculture, and Phastos invented the steam engine.
The Hanging Gardens, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was also built by the Eternals.
It was just Ajak, the sacred place used to communicate with the Celestials.
Besides that, there were many, many other examples, like the atomic bomb, and so on.
In short, the Eternals had indeed put a lot of effort into the humans of Earth.
This was also why, after the truth about the Celestial's appearance was exposed, almost all of the Eternals unanimously decided to betray Arishem.
They had really developed feelings for Earth.
So Sersi was quite satisfied with her current life.
There were no more Deviants in the world, and she could live as an ordinary human being.
If she could, Sersi would even be willing to spend her entire life like this.
However, Sersi didn't anticipate that her peaceful life would be shattered on this very day.
Squeak!
Opening the door to her ordinary, unremarkable apartment, a blast of ear-splitting music assaulted her ears.
A kid, who looked to be only in his teens, was sprawled lazily on the sofa.
He was bouncing his leg to the beat of the music while casually guzzling from a bottle of rum.
It was none other than Sersi's "roommate," Sprite.
Ever since the Eternals disbanded, Sersi had stayed with Sprite, almost never being apart from her.
So, Sprite gradually stopped hiding things from Sersi, exposing her "true colors."
Because she would never grow up, Sprite desperately craved the feeling of being an adult, and she tried to fool herself with behaviors that seemed "adult-like."
Things like going to bars, drinking alcohol, and even trying drugs.
It made Sersi quite helpless.
"Sprite, you know, I don't mind if you go to a bar."
Sersi suggested to Sprite helplessly.
Anyway, the Eternals' bodies were extraordinary, so no matter what Sprite did, she wouldn't get into trouble.
Sersi wasn't worried.
But Sprite wasn't very willing. With the way she looked, no one would want to play with her.
Even without transforming, no one would let her in.
"I don't mind either. It's those shallow people who have a problem."
Sprite also shook her head helplessly.
Sersi chatted with Sprite for a few moments, then returned to her room to change clothes.
Huh?
A glance caught her eye, and Sersi was suddenly stunned. Her gaze instinctively landed on the dressing table.
How come, there seemed to be something extra there?
That black diary, she was sure it wasn't there when she came in, right?
How did it suddenly appear in the blink of an eye?
"That little Sprite, what is she up to again?"
However, Sersi quickly "understood" that it must have been Sprite outside who did it.
Sersi didn't think much of it and casually picked up the black diary.
???
Zhou Cheng's Diary? What the hell is this?
Who is Zhou Cheng?
"Sprite, what is this you gave me?"
Sersi subconsciously turned her head and asked in the direction of the outside.
But Sprite was immersed in the dynamic music and intoxicating alcohol and didn't hear what Sersi was saying.
Sersi started flipping through the diary, growing more and more bewildered by what Sprite had done.
What is all this? It's all mixed up, I don't understand it! It was all about Stark, Captain America, and other people who had absolutely nothing to do with them.
Just as she was about to ask Sprite what the diary was all about, Sersi suddenly froze again.
The Celestials? After a quick flip through the pages, the words "The Celestials" caught her eye.
Sersi was immediately intrigued.
She wasn't interested in Stark or Captain America, but Sersi was very interested in the Celestials.
Sersi began to carefully flip through the diary, starting to read about the Celestials.
