Chapter 143 - The Unreliable Star-Lord Turns Out to Be Descendant of the Celestials!

[Honestly, Ego's background is actually pretty impressive.]

[Even if he's essentially a defective product, Ego is still a member of the Celestials!]

[Not comparable to the other Celestials, but in the context of the entire universe, he's already insanely powerful.]

[Especially his "Universe Seeding Plan"—that's a scheme capable of consuming the entire universe.]

[If Star-Lord hadn't intervened, this universe probably wouldn't exist anymore.]

[It's just unfortunate that there's no "if" in this world.]

[Ego should never have set his sights on Star-Lord—he ended up blasted to pieces. How tragic.]

[The first generation Celestials being blown up by a bomb? Truly a divine humiliation!]

"Star-Lord's father… is a Celestial?!"

Tony Stark immediately wore an expression of shock.

Honestly, this was completely unexpected.

Just moments ago, the diary had described Star-Lord as unreliable, even dancing during the planetary invasion—dropping his cool factor in Tony's eyes.

Yet now it turned out Star-Lord had such an incredible heritage!

He was the child of a Celestial!Which meant… Star-Lord himself might be considered part of the Celestials?

The diary didn't say much about the Celestials.

It only mentioned that Odin created the Destroyer specifically to counter the Celestials.

But that alone was enough to show their immense power.

Even Odin, one of the greatest beings, had to take extreme precautions—that says a lot.

What Tony really hadn't expected was that this supposedly fearsome Celestial turned out to be… a sphere?

So Odin's extreme caution, creating the Destroyer, was all to counter a… ball?

And even a "defective" Celestial like Ego was already incredibly formidable in the universe.

It was hard to imagine just how powerful the true Celestials must be.

"Universe Seeding Plan?"

Tony's attention was immediately caught. He gulped.

This plan could… consume an entire universe?

This was beyond thrilling—it was staggering!

Previously, the diary had spoiled that Dormammu might devour Earth, which already shook Tony to his core.

Even a single planet being devoured was shocking!

But now, Tony realized Dormammu was nothing compared to Ego.

Ego wasn't consuming one or a few planets—he could swallow the entire universe!

The number of planets in the universe… even the Milky Way alone has 400 billion stars!

And the Milky Way is only a tiny fraction of the universe.

What level of being could actually devour an entire universe?

Even Tony Stark's mind couldn't fathom it.

And then came the biggest shock: this terrifying being, Ego, was blown up by a bomb?

So Star-Lord… killed his own father?

He was, essentially, a patricide!

The diary didn't explain why Star-Lord killed his father, and Tony didn't dwell on it either.

What truly caught his attention: Ego was destroyed by a bomb?

A being capable of devouring the universe… a Celestial… and it was a bomb that killed him?

No matter how you looked at it, it seemed absurd.

So how powerful must Star-Lord's bomb have been?

Even considering the bomb alone, Ego wouldn't have just stood there foolishly, right?

Still, compared to dancing his way through saving the galaxy, using a bomb at least sounded plausible.

That was pure Star-Lord—or Guardians of the Galaxy—style: accomplishing miraculous feats with the most outrageous methods.

If so, the Guardians really were a fascinating team.

Tony was curious to see them in action.

After reading the diary's account of the Avengers teaming up with the Guardians, Tony was looking forward to it.

"Celestials?"

Meanwhile, Thor read the diary and fell into thought.

Most Asgardians had never heard the name, but Thor, as the prince, had higher access.

He had seen fragments of ancient texts mentioning the Celestials.

In a time long past, his father Odin had fought an epic war against the Celestials.

Details of the war—the cause, process, outcome—were not recorded.

Thor had once asked Odin, but his father was evasive, revealing nothing.

Thor knew then that it wasn't simple.

From the diary, Thor finally understood that Odin had built the Destroyer at immense cost, specifically to counter the Celestials!

And this was Odin, All-Father of Asgard!

Thor had never seen his father show such caution toward anyone.

"Celestials!"

Thor repeated the name, imprinting it in his mind.

If Odin had made the Destroyer, it meant…

One day, the Celestials could appear in the Nine Realms, in Asgard!

As prince, Thor felt it his responsibility to be ready.

Of course, first he needed to reclaim his hammer.

After talking with Black Widow, Thor was confident he could soon reclaim Mjolnir and become Thor once again.

[So Ego's biggest regret in life was probably coming to Earth and meeting Star-Lord's mother.]

[Star-Lord's mother really had charisma—so much so that even Ego, a Celestial, fell in love.]

[Ego himself admitted that he fell in love.]

[But tragically, for the sake of his Universe Seeding Plan, Ego killed Star-Lord's mother.]

[And finally, he died at the hands of his own son. Karma, perhaps.]

[Though I recall Ego wasn't the first Celestial to visit Earth.]

[Millions of years ago, Celestials had already come, creating the Eternals and Deviants from primitive humans.]

[It seems they enjoy experimenting on advanced life forms.]

[Who knows… Kree and Skrulls might have also been their creations?]

"Ego came to Earth?"

"Star-Lord is the offspring of a Celestial and a human?"

Tony Stark gasped instinctively.

A supreme being of the universe, paired with an ordinary human—what a massive gap.

It was like an ant versus a giant.

The diary was right: even someone like Ego could be attracted to Star-Lord's mother—she truly was remarkable.

Tony also gained deeper understanding of Ego, the "defective Celestial."

Since Ego came to Earth and fell for Star-Lord's mother, the logical conclusion was:

Ego must have visited Earth in human form.

After all, she wouldn't have fallen for a non-human. Not everyone is like Scarlet Witch.

Mystery solved: the question of how a sphere could procreate with a biological being was finally answered.

Furthermore, Tony finally understood the "Universe Seeding Plan."

What's universe seeding?

Spreading one's seed across the universe.

Clearly, that was Ego meeting countless life forms on other planets and producing offspring.

Connecting the dots, that's how the plan could theoretically "consume the universe"—more children, more influence.

As for Ego supposedly falling in love with Star-Lord's mother… Tony could only laugh.

Killed her and still fell in love? What a cosmic jerk!

"The Kree and Skrulls were Celestial experiments?"

Nick Fury was equally stunned.

Having witnessed the Kree-Skrull War, he knew both races were top-tier in the galaxy.

Even the Skrulls, defeated and dispossessed by the Kree, were formidable!

Fury never imagined these two powerful races were Celestial creations.

The Celestials truly were an overwhelmingly powerful and terrifying race.

As for the Eternals and Deviants, Nick had never heard of them—yet their names implied power.

"Eternals… if not powerful, how dare they call themselves Eternal?"

"Deviants… if mutated, they must be strong too," Fury speculated.

Thor was also shocked: he knew of the Eternals and had a good relationship with them.

As a child, during Asgard's wars with the Frost Giants, Odin had allied with several Eternal warriors.

After the war, Odin even gave Gilgamesh some secret Asgardian elixirs, and Thor often interacted with them.

Although over a millennium had passed and contact was rare, Thor could never forget.

Yet he never expected that the Eternals, who had helped Asgard, were also Celestial experiments!

[I remember Odin once went to war with the Celestials over experiments on humans.]

[Odin gathered allies and fought a fierce battle against the Celestials.]

[They were utterly defeated, leaving Odin psychologically scarred.]

[Later, Odin even considered collecting Infinity Stones, and perhaps created the Infinity Gauntlet—likely due to the Celestials.]

[But for some reason, Odin abandoned the Infinity Stones plan and kept the Gauntlet as a relic.]

[Instead, he built the Destroyer.]

"So that's the truth?"

Thor finally understood the story between his father and the Celestials.

No wonder Odin never spoke of the battle!

Odin's prideful nature, coupled with secrecy, made perfect sense now.

Thor realized the Celestials were truly formidable.

Hence his urgency: he needed to reclaim Mjolnir and return to Asgard as soon as possible.

"Father also considered collecting the Infinity Stones?"

This revelation surprised Thor even more.

From the diary, he already knew the purple villain who erased half of the universe's life sought the Stones.

Now he learned his own father had once done something similar.
