Chapter 68 - Final Light

A barrage of strikes from Kronoran—

Faster than lightning.

But Akito, sliding beneath one and flipping off his hands, rolled back, then met the attack with a double kick—

Straight to the gut.

Kronoran flew back, slamming into the marble wall with a thunderous crash.

In an instant, Blades of Light ignited in his hands—

But Akito answered in kind.

Both launched forward like bullets.

Swings. And then—

BOOM.

The impact was so massive the marble beneath them vaporized, and the air turned scorching hot.

A normal human would've burned alive from the heat alone.

Akito snapped his fingers—

And Kronoran's blades crumbled to dust midair.

— "What…? This power… it's from the Creator," Kronoran muttered, trying to retreat—

Too late.

Akito was already at his side.

A brutal kick—

And then, in the blink of an eye, two blades pierced Kronoran's abdomen.

Blood spurted from his mouth—

But he smiled.

— "Got you… Akito."

A sickening crack—

Akito's arm broke.

Then a savage kick to the chest launched him backward.

"I don't feel pain… This is the Creator's power… I can't lose!" Akito thought, desperately.

— "Fools… I've been in this form for fifty minutes.

This is the end.

Even the Creator's gift won't help you now.

You fought well… but this is it."

Kronoran appeared beside him, releasing around seventy radiant rings of light.

Akito managed to destroy about fifty—

But the rest struck him hard, shattering bones, tearing muscle.

He collapsed.

Summoning the last of his strength, he lifted his hand to snap again—

But Kronoran stepped on it.

Crunch.

Fingers shattered.

— "Now you'll watch… just as I promised you from the beginning."

Akito looked up—

And understood.

Even with all the Guardians combined, they couldn't stop this monster.

— "You're too kind, Akito…

But it's time to accept the truth:

My words are the only truth."

Kronoran lifted him using light magic, suspending his limp body in the air.

He walked toward the exit.

Around them—rubble, fire, broken marble.

Guardians scattered like corpses: embedded in walls, buried under stone, or lying still, unmoving.

— "You made me sweat…" Kronoran said, glancing at Akito.

Akito looked around, desperate—

Anyone.

Someone who could stand…

Then—

A blinding flash of space ripped open the air.

The Creator appeared.

A single moment—

He caught Akito mid-air, spun, and kicked Kronoran with such force it hurled him across the chamber.

— "So… you came," Kronoran smirked, spreading his arms.

"But it's already too late."

— "How dare you… hurt them all?! What was the point of this?!"

— "Father… you fear me now. I can see it.

You won't use your true form, which means… you've already lo—"

He didn't finish.

The Creator launched forward.

Palm strikes to the face—one after another.

Five. Six. Seven teeth clattered against the marble.

A knee to the gut.

A kick to the skull.

Kronoran crashed to the ground like a falling star.

The Creator stepped forward—

But stopped.

That smile.

That cursed smile—still on Kronoran's face.

— "Still fast… as always, Father," he rasped.

A flicker—

He teleported behind the Creator, grabbing him tightly.

A white-gray aura poured out around them, like fog—

But heavier, crushing everything around.

"An artifact… Eternal Seal," the Creator realized.

— "You'll seal yourself too, Kronoran—"

— "Wrong. Just you."

Kronoran extended his head and half his body outside the artifact's radius.

Flash.

The seal exploded through the hall.

Half of Kronoran's body was trapped inside.

He gasped—blood pouring from his mouth and eyes.

— "Good thing I absorbed the power of Zemok… Envy.

Without it, I'd be dead.

And luckily… I have more energy sources left—

In the form of your Guardians."

He grinned.

After a minute of recovery, he reappeared before Akito.

— "Now then… let's continue."

He grabbed Akito—

And in the next instant, they shattered through the ceiling, disappearing into a corridor of blinding light, hurtling toward Earth.

Back in the hall—

The other Guardians burst in.

But they were too late.

Only bodies remained.

Some crushed under rubble.

Some broken.

Some dead.

— "…So we were too late," whispered San'Vion, Guardian of Lust, his gaze falling.

Kaenon, Guardian of Atonement, folded his hands in silent prayer.

— "I regret… never speaking with that boy…"

In the distance, leaning against a wall, stood Mirton, Guardian of Deception.

His voice was even, but tired.

— "I wasn't going to fight Kronoran anyway. What for?

I've already accomplished everything I wanted.

Why destroy it for some people and their little planet?"

He turned and left.

The rest quietly approached the fallen Guardians, checking for signs of life.

Meanwhile… far above…

Akito and Kronoran floated in silent space, staring down at the blue planet.

Akito couldn't move.

Every rib… every bone was broken.

Even thinking of standing felt impossible.

— "Look, Akito," Kronoran said, raising his hands.

He began concentrating.

In his palms—

A sphere of light formed.

Denser.

Heavier.

More radiant by the second.

Flash—

And it hurled toward Earth.

So fast… the cosmos shook.

Impact.

Everyone on Earth…

Felt it.

Just for a moment—

A soft, warm touch of light.

Almost comforting.

Then—

The sky tore open.

And everything went dark.

"No… stop…!" Akito screamed in his mind.

But the voice disappeared into the void.

He looked back at Earth.

One point ignited—

A yellow-orange glow.

It spread—

Tearing continents.

Devouring oceans.

Reducing cities to ash.

The wave of light surged—

Consuming all.

Then—

Another ring of light enveloped the planet like a protective dome.

— "This is… so their souls won't die," Kronoran said calmly.

"They'll remain—within the dome."

The ring tightened.

Engulfed the Earth.

Then hovered, motionless, in the void.

Earth was no more.

Everything Akito loved—

Destroyed.

The Guardians.

His grandmother.

Rei.

All gone in a single instant.
