CHOOSE YOUR WAIFU

Your boy Riki here, stepping out from behind the curtain for a hot minute. Don't worry—Yukio's story isn't going anywhere. Kid's probably still standing there looking smug with that Ace of Spades, thinking he's hot shit. Which, to be fair, he absolutely is.

But we need to talk. You and me. Reader to writer. Because we've reached what I like to call the "Relationship Crossroads," and frankly, I'm curious to see how your taste in fictional women stacks up against mine.

See, here's the thing about writing a good harem story—and yes, that's what this is, don't look at me like that. The secret isn't just throwing a bunch of pretty girls at your protagonist and hoping for the best. That's amateur hour. The real art is in the curation. Each girl needs to bring something unique to the table, some specific flavor that complements the others without overwhelming the palate.

Think of it like building the perfect poker hand, except instead of cards, you're dealing with complex, multifaceted women who could probably kick your ass six ways from Sunday.

Now, I've already locked in the core four. Non-negotiable. These three are happening whether you like it or not, because they're narratively essential to Yukio's development:

Kyoka Jiro - Our punk rock princess with the attitude problem and the heart of gold she pretends doesn't exist. She's the emotional anchor, the one who'll call Yukio on his bullshit when he gets too full of himself. Plus, her Quirk synergizes beautifully with his tactical mindset. They're going to make beautiful, sarcastic music together.

Toru Hagakure - The invisible girl who wants nothing more than to be seen. She's pure sunshine energy wrapped in a paradox, and her genuine enthusiasm is going to be the perfect counterbalance to Yukio's calculated coolness. Also, invisible girlfriend? Come on. The comedic potential alone is worth the price of admission.

Nejire Hado—haven't met her yet. Third-year at U.A., part of the Big Three, and she's got this curious, energetic personality that's going to clash beautifully with Yukio's calculated cool. She asks a million questions, he's got a million secrets. It's like peanut butter and jelly, if peanut butter could fly and jelly could manipulate probability.

Mirko - Oh, you haven't met her yet either. But trust me, when Rabbit Hero: Mirko hops into this story, she's going to bring a level of aggressive, battle-hungry intensity that'll make Yukio question everything he thinks he knows about keeping his cool. She's chaos incarnate with legs that could crush watermelons, and she's going to absolutely wreck our boy's composure.

But here's where it gets interesting. I've got seven more potential candidates lined up, each one a masterpiece in her own right, and only three spots left in the inner circle.

Let me give you the rundown:

Momo Yaoyorozu - The princess in the ivory tower, brilliant and beautiful and absolutely starving for genuine affection. She's been groomed her entire life to be perfect, and Yukio's casual confidence might just be the key to unlocking the real woman underneath all that polish. Plus, Creation Quirk? Potential Sugar Momma? The tactical applications are chef's kiss.

Yuzuriha - The predator in student's clothing. She's dangerous, she's gorgeous, and she's hiding more secrets than a government black site. The tension between her and Yukio is going to be electric—two players recognizing each other across a crowded room. Question is: will they end up as lovers or will they destroy each other first?

Kimiko Murano - Yeah, you guys really want this. She's the most important person in Yukio's world, the one he'd burn everything down to protect. Sometimes the line between familial love and romantic love gets... blurry. Especially when you're dealing with a transmigrated soul in a borrowed body.

Nemuri Kayama (Midnight) - The teacher who sees right through Yukio's act and finds it absolutely delicious. She's a master manipulator who's met her match, and the psychological chess match between them is going to be intense. Age gap? Please. This is fiction. Let the adults play their games.

Tae Takemi - Dr. Death herself, the healer with a god complex and a lab coat that's seen better days. She's brilliant, abrasive, and completely unimpressed by hero society's bullshit. Her and Yukio's first meeting is going to be legendary—two cynics finding something worth believing in.

Mt. Lady - The walking publicity machine who already has her hooks in our boy. She's ambitious, she's stunning, and she knows exactly how to work the system. The question is whether she's genuinely interested in Yukio or just sees him as another stepping stone to fame.

Lady Nagant - The fallen angel, the sniper who used to work for the shadows before everything went sideways. She hasn't appeared yet, but when she does... let's just say she's going to recognize a kindred spirit in Yukio. Two people who know what it's like to dance in the gray areas between right and wrong.

Each of these women brings something different to the table. Momo offers intellectual partnership and emotional vulnerability. Yuzuriha brings danger and passion. Kimiko provides unconditional love and moral grounding. Midnight offers experience and psychological complexity. Tae delivers scientific brilliance wrapped in prickly attitude. Mt. Lady brings media savvy and ambitious energy. Lady Nagant offers understanding and shared darkness.

The question is: which three do you want to see get the full romantic subplot treatment? Because let me tell you, writing believable relationship dynamics for a large cast is like juggling chainsaws while riding a unicycle. Doable, but it requires focus.

Now, before you start typing angry comments about how harems are unrealistic or whatever—shut up. This is a world where people can turn invisible, create objects from their fat cells, and punch robots into next week. Realism went out the window the moment superpowers entered the chat.

What I'm aiming for here is emotional realism. Each relationship needs to feel genuine, needs to develop organically from character interactions and shared experiences. No love-at-first-sight nonsense, no girls falling for Yukio just because he exists in their general vicinity.

These women are going to fall for him because he challenges them, supports them, sees them for who they really are beneath the masks they wear. And he's going to fall for them because they make him want to be better than the sum of his cynical parts.

Alright, I've probably kept you long enough. Yukio's getting impatient—I can feel him glaring at me from inside the story, wondering why time seems to have stopped. Poor kid doesn't realize he's just a character in a narrative, subject to the whims of pacing and dramatic structure.

So here's the deal: think about it. Three spots. Seven candidates. Choose wisely, because once we lock in the final roster, that's it. No take-backs, no buyer's remorse.

And remember—this isn't just about who's prettiest or who has the biggest... Quirks. Think about chemistry, about narrative potential, about which combinations are going to create the most interesting stories.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a hero-in-training to torture with entrance exam results and the dawning realization that his life just got a whole lot more complicated.

Welcome to the real game, folks. Hope you're ready to play.
