Chapter 17 — The Scouting Storm

📅 November 17th

📍 Germany

Even though the goalkeeper and defenders went all out to chase it down, the ball was still faster — a hundred million points faster — and landed cleanly in the back of the net.

1–0!

Su Long had given Oe II the lead less than a minute after kickoff!

Coach Eller stood frozen on the sidelines, then suddenly threw both hands into the air.

"Good ball! This Dragon Country kid… really is something else!"

His teammates erupted:

"Sue! Brilliant goal!"

"Sue, you're a beast!"

"Unreal!"

They tried to rush him, but Su Long was already sprinting around the pitch in celebration, running half a lap before finally stopping.

In the stands, a few blonde classmates jumped up and down in excitement.

Meanwhile, the Werder Bremen players stood in stunned silence.

They had expected to crush Oe II — yet before they could even settle into rhythm, they were already down a goal.

Kevin Wittek, their captain, quickly tried to calm his teammates.

"It's fine. Just stay focused. We'll play our game — Oe isn't on our level."

The others nodded grimly.

But one minute later, the net rippled again.

Su Long had the ball.

The moment he touched it, Kevin Wittek and Matthew Dansk pounced to surround him.

Matthew snarled, "You won't get past me this time!"

The next second, Su Long slipped the ball right between his legs again.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Dansk shouted, lunging and grabbing at Su Long's jersey, but the young striker broke free easily.

Werder's defenders rushed in to collapse on him — yet Su Long darted past, storming down the right flank. Five defenders closed in, but he suddenly cut inside and whipped a pass across the box.

Blackpool charged in from midfield, one-on-one with the keeper!

The keeper stretched desperately — and managed to block the shot with his foot!

"Whew…" the goalkeeper sighed in relief.

But before he could even stand up, a black shadow flashed across his view — Number 9!

The next instant, the ball screamed into the top corner of the net!

2 minutes.

Two goals.

A brace in just two minutes!

Su Long spread his arms wide, soaring like a bird across the pitch.

In the stands, the blonde girls were going wild — waving, screaming, nearly throwing their clothes in excitement.

Su Long's face flushed red. He smiled awkwardly and gave them a thumbs-up.

These foreign girls sure are passionate…

Before he could even catch his breath, his teammates swarmed him in celebration.

"Sue, what switch did you turn on today?!"

"You're unstoppable!"

Meanwhile, Werder Bremen C's players exchanged looks — eyes full of shock and confusion.

"Where did this monster come from?" one muttered.

"We can't stop him…"

On the sideline, Coach Eller crossed his arms. His face was calm, but his mind was racing.

It was obvious — the youth league's level was too low for Su Long now.

He exhaled.

"Looks like I'll need to talk to Gerd… this kid belongs in the first team."

---

In the stands, a man in a black trench coat sat motionless, eyes fixed on the field.

He was a Bayern Munich scout.

He hadn't even finished writing his first scouting note before that same No. 9 scored again.

Who was this kid?

He looked so young — and from China?

When did such a prodigy appear there?

He flipped through his scouting book — no record. Not a single mention of "Su Long."

A few rows away, a blonde girl — Nelly — was shouting herself hoarse cheering for Su Long.

The Bayern scout started walking toward her, planning to ask who this player was.

But before he reached her, another man — a heavyset one — stepped in first.

The Bayern scout narrowed his eyes.

That was a Dortmund scout.

Nelly grinned proudly. "Mister, see? I told you! Sue is a genius! I never miss!"

The fat man chuckled awkwardly — it was true, he had dismissed the boy before. But that goal… no one could deny it.

He turned and caught the Bayern scout's gaze.

"You're here too, huh?"

The man in black nodded slightly. "Hmm."

Nelly blinked in surprise. "Wait—you guys know each other? Are you both Oe fans?"

The fat man hesitated, then decided honesty was best. "No, we're scouts. I'm with Dortmund. He's… from another team."

Nelly crossed her arms stubbornly. "Hmph! Sue Long belongs to our OE team! No one's allowed to take him — unless it's Bayern Munich!"

The Dortmund scout's mouth twitched.

Bayern Munich, huh? This kid has no idea how football works.

The black-clad scout chuckled. "What a coincidence. I am with Bayern Munich."

Nelly looked surprised "Wow, you are a Bayern Munich scout "

Back on the pitch, Werder Bremen's players were falling apart.

Su Long's performance had completely shattered their game plan.

Before kickoff, they didn't even know who Su Long was.

Now, two minutes in, they were terrified of him.

Oe II pressed high, their energy fierce — though their technique was rough, their aggression pinned Werder Bremen back.

Frustrated, Kevin Wittek shouted to his teammates,

"We can't let this continue! Be physical! Raise the tempo — let him feel real football!"

"Yeah! Make him afraid!"

"Let's crush them!"

But before they could even act tough, Su Long struck again.

Wittek tried to dribble forward stylishly — only for Su Long to slide in perfectly, stealing the ball cleanly.

"Ah!" Wittek crashed to the turf.

He raised his arms, yelling for a foul, but the referee waved play on.

As Oe II surged forward again, Su Long swung the ball diagonally from the right wing to the left side of the box.

A teammate rushed in, shot — just wide!

The goalkeeper exhaled heavily. Barely survived.

But Su Long's intensity — and the relentless pressing from Oe II — made Werder Bremen crumble.

They had planned to "target" Su Long physically.

Instead, Su Long was bullying them.

Within five minutes, Su Long had dispossessed Kevin Wittek twice more — both times, clean as a whistle.

On the sideline, the Bayern scout scribbled in his notebook:

> "Technical skill: exceptional. Physical strength: beyond expectation. Mental resilience: elite level."

Then, next to Kevin Wittek's name, he crossed out a line and muttered quietly:

> "Ability to handle pressure — needs improvement."

Kevin Wittek's original 3.5-star potential rating dropped to 2.5.

Meanwhile, for the unknown Chinese striker, he wrote one new line:

> Su Long — potential rating: ★★★★☆

〖System: Player evaluation updated. Rating — 4 stars.〗
