"By the way, Wendy, come back to the guild with me."
"What's the matter?"
"Natsu's egg is about to hatch. It should be tomorrow."
"But…"
Wendy glanced at the egg incubator on the table. Noah smiled and reassured her.
"You can bring it with you."
"Really?"
Wendy's eyes widened in surprise, and Noah nodded.
"Of course. I already checked the egg. It's healthy and stable.
We can't teleport with it, but walking back will be no problem."
"But the distance is so far… I don't think I'll make it in time."
Wendy looked down at her short legs and thought of the long road from here to Magnolia. She was certain it would be difficult to return to Fairy Tail by tomorrow.
"Did you forget about me?"
Noah looked at her helplessly. Wendy tilted her head in confusion.
"But didn't you say teleportation wasn't possible?"
"I never said it was the only magic I know. And don't forget, your Additional Magic is very powerful."
Noah checked the sky. There were still two or three hours left before sunset, more than enough time.
"Let's head back now."
Though still a little unsure, Wendy trusted him. She quickly turned to Roubaul.
"Goodbye, Grandpa Roubaul!"
"Goodbye, Wendy! Don't forget to visit often!"
Roubaul waved with a warm smile, then gave Noah a knowing nod. Noah returned the gesture before leaving with Wendy.
Once they stepped outside the village, Wendy looked at Noah with puzzled eyes.
"So… how are we going to get back?"
"Watch carefully, Wendy. This is Additional Magic the kind of power you'll master in the future."
Holding the egg incubator in his left hand, Noah raised his right. A shining magic circle appeared before his palm.
"All attributes and resistance enhanced Crown of God!"
"Comprehensive physical strengthening Knight of God!"
"Double attack power! Double defense! Double speed! Additional Boost!"
Brilliant rays of magic wrapped around both Noah and Wendy, their bodies glowing with divine light. Wendy suddenly felt stronger than ever. Her entire body felt light, relaxed, and overflowing with power.
Wendy clenched her fists in disbelief, lifted her head, and asked Noah in a trembling voice,
"Is this the Additional Magic that Grandeeney taught me? Will I really be this strong one day?"
"Of course. You have to believe in yourself. This is the magic your mother, Grandeeney, gave you how could it possibly be weak?
Once you master Additional Magic, you'll always have a place on any team. In fact, you'll even be strong enough to fight alone if needed.
You can heal yourself, and you can boost your own strength with support magic. Once you grow up, most battles won't be a problem for you."
"Mm!"
Although Wendy still lacked confidence deep down, seeing Noah demonstrate the power of Additional Magic filled her with determination.
"Alright then, try running. See how fast you are now. Don't worry, I'll be right beside you."
Wendy took a deep breath and tried. With just a small push, she leapt forward powerfully.
The sudden burst of strength carried her through the air, and tears welled in her eyes. The surge was too much she wasn't used to controlling it yet.
Just as she was about to slam into a tree, Noah appeared at her side, gently pulling her back and helping her land safely on the ground.
"This happens because you're not used to the sudden increase in power. With a few more tries, you'll get the hang of it. Now, let's head back."
"Mm."
Wendy wiped the corners of her eyes with the back of her hand, steadied herself, and took Noah's hand as they started back together.
Thanks to the Additional Magic Noah had cast, their speed was much faster than a normal carriage.
But Wendy was still a child, and her stamina wasn't very strong. After some distance, she began to tire and slowed down. She didn't complain, though she quietly pushed herself to keep pace with Noah.
Noah, watching her closely, didn't say anything. He simply kept track of her condition. When he saw she was nearly at her limit, he slowed his steps to let her catch her breath and handed her a potion to restore water and nutrients.
After resting, they set out again. Wendy had to stop twice more to recover. When it grew late, Noah finally carried her on his back, striding quickly until they reached home.
When they arrived and sat down to dinner, everyone looked a little surprised to see Noah carrying Wendy. He could guess what they were thinking from their faces and said,
"It's nothing. Wendy's just a little tired."
Hearing this, everyone relaxed. Their attention quickly shifted to the incubator Noah was holding.
Erza immediately asked,
"Isn't this the same kind of device Natsu's been carrying? The egg inside this one looks different from Natsu's. Is it a new one?"
Noah placed the incubator on the table, set Wendy gently down from his back, and explained,
"Yes. This egg was found near a senior's home. Since Wendy often visits that senior, he entrusted it to her. She's been taking care of it there these past few days.
Today I saw that Natsu's egg was about to hatch, so I checked Wendy's egg as well. It's healthy and stable, so I decided to bring it back."
Kongo came over, circling the incubator curiously, and muttered to Noah,
"Natsu and Wendy both have eggs like this. I want one too! Go find one for me!"
Noah rolled his eyes and said with clear annoyance,
"They were lucky to come across theirs. How am I supposed to just find one for you?"
Kongo only shrugged. He had been speaking casually, and soon returned to staring at the incubator.
"Let's all help Wendy take care of this egg!"
Erza suggested firmly. Wendy's face lit up at once.
"Really?"
"Of course. But you're the one who's really taking care of it we're just helping a little."
Erza told Wendy seriously. Wendy's heart overflowed with joy.
"Yeah! Thank you so much, everyone!"
The other guild members also found it interesting and decided to lend a hand.
In truth, there wasn't much to do. All that was required was to keep an eye on the nutrient solution, refill it if it got too low, and watch the indicator light to see if its color changed.
That night passed without incident.
The next morning, Wendy woke up very early. The very first thing she did was check the incubator by her bed. She let out a small breath of relief when she saw nothing had changed.
After washing up, everyone headed to the guild together. Since Noah had said that Natsu's egg was expected to hatch today at the latest, no one went to training. They all wanted to see what would emerge from Natsu's egg.
