Chapter 51 - Chapter 51 Lucy Heartfilia

Despite possessing such powerful magic, Layla did not have a strong body. The immense magic oppressed her physically, worsening her condition.

However, Layla was both fortunate and wise. When she realized something was wrong with her health, she stopped working as a wizard, ceased using magic, and discontinued her training.

The growth rate of her magic dropped sharply. Although it continued to increase slowly with age, her body was also able to adapt and gradually improve under the constant pressure of her magic.

Generally speaking, this left her in a relatively stable state not good, but not disastrously bad either. The result was that her health remained consistently poor.

"So you're saying my poor health is caused by my strong magic power?" Layla asked in astonishment. She had never imagined that her frailty came from her overwhelming magic.

"Madam, anyone can see that you rarely exercised," Noah replied. "As the daughter of a wealthy consortium, you never had much reason to train your body, so naturally you lacked physical conditioning.

And yet, your magic allowed you to open three gates at the same time when you were only sixteen. As a Celestial Spirit Mage, you must know very well that most can open only one gate, and only a rare few can open two. Almost none can open three.

The reason is simple the magic required increases exponentially with each additional gate. Very few people possess the power to sustain it.

And in your case, you weren't opening ordinary Silver Keys, but the highest-grade Zodiac Keys. The magic needed to use them is far greater than ordinary keys.

So for you, at the age of sixteen, to open three Zodiac Gates at once just imagine how immense your power already was."

Noah picked up his teacup, took a sip, and continued,

"It's a pity, Madam, that you never trained your body enough. More precisely, your physical fitness could never keep pace with the rapid growth of your magic.

This left your body unable to support such powerful energy, and the result was poor health.

Fortunately, you were wise. When you realized your condition was worsening, you stopped working as a wizard and ceased practicing magic. That sharply reduced the growth rate of your power.

Although it still strains your body, the slower pace has allowed you to gradually adapt. Your physical fitness has improved passively, and that's why your condition hasn't grown worse."

Hearing this, Layla suddenly understood. As the daughter of a wealthy family, she had still trained as a wizard, but only through ordinary practice.

Yet, from a young age, she possessed magical power far beyond that of most wizards. Naturally, the amount of training she did had never been enough.

"As I grew older, I could feel my health getting worse," Layla admitted softly. "It must be exactly as you said my magic grew faster than my body."

"Is there any way to fix this?" she asked hopefully.

Jude had been listening carefully and now understood the cause. His wife's talent as a mage was extraordinary, but her body had failed to keep up with her power. Still, the only question that mattered to him was whether it could be solved.

"This problem is easy to solve," Noah said simply. "You just need to improve your physical fitness."

"That would be ideal," Jude replied, frowning. "But Layla's health is already too poor. How can she exercise in this condition?"

"Naturally, I don't mean forcing her into direct, strenuous training," Noah explained. "First, I'll prepare potions to suppress her magic power, reducing the pressure on her body.

Then I'll use potions to temporarily strengthen her physical condition. Madam, during that time, you must begin training again. With steady exercise, your fitness will catch up.

If you do that, the problem will be solved."

Of course, Noah didn't intend for Layla to begin exercising immediately. His plan was to first suppress her magic power, then gradually improve her physical fitness to resolve her condition.

"Then what herbs do you need? I'll send someone to collect them right away," Jude asked anxiously. Treating Layla's health was his top priority.

"Here's what I'll do," Noah replied. "I'll write two prescriptions: one to suppress magic power, and another to temporarily strengthen the body.

But I must ask that you keep these recipes secret. If they were to fall into the wrong hands, someone could misuse them."

Noah quickly wrote down two prescriptions on a piece of paper and handed them to Jude. Jude, overjoyed, carefully tucked them away.

"Of course. I'll have the ingredients bought separately, and I'll make sure the prescriptions never leak. I'll send someone right now." Jude rushed out and immediately ordered a servant to purchase the medicines.

Turning back to Layla, Noah said reassuringly,

"Madam, once you begin taking the medicine and gradually resume training, your health will improve."

Just then, the door swung open with a "thump, thump," and a small figure ran inside, throwing herself into Layla's arms. A sweet, worried voice rang out:

"Mom! Mom, are you sick? Why do you need medicine? What's wrong?"

Noah looked closely at the little girl. She had short golden hair, large brown eyes, and wore an orange dress. Delicate and cute, her whole face was filled with concern, her eyes brimming with worry for her mother.

Layla stroked her daughter's hair gently and said softly,

"Mommy's fine, just a little weak. I just need some medicine to make me stronger."

"Then please get better soon, Mom," the little girl said earnestly.

"I will," Layla promised. Then she smiled and added, "By the way, this is Brother Noah, a magician. Come and say hello to him."

Layla looked at Noah warmly and introduced,

"This is my daughter, Lucy."

The little girl lifted her head from Layla's arms and stood up, her bright eyes sparkling as she gave a cheerful smile.

"Hello, Brother Noah!"

"Hello, Sister Lucy," Noah replied with a smile. "I didn't bring any gifts this time, so let me give you this as a greeting gift."

From within his coat, Noah drew out a key. It was silver, with a handle shaped like a clock face.

"This is a Celestial Spirit Key," Noah explained. "I'm giving it to you. May it protect you from harm on your journey, Lucy."

He handed the key to her with a blessing.

Lucy hesitated, uncertain whether to accept it, and turned to her mother.

"How could we possibly accept such a gift? And a key this precious, no less…" Layla said, her tone mixed with gratitude and hesitation.

As a former Celestial Spirit Mage herself, she recognized its value instantly. Though it was a Silver Key, it was a rare and powerful one highly sought after, and more than capable of protecting its wielder. Many Celestial Spirit Mages would dream of owning such a key.
