His green eyes made me cautious; my nerves felt on fire like I was on edge.

I spoke calmly, "What do you want?"

Angel curled his lips into a half sneer, and he walked over to me, slowly grabbing my wrist tightly and painfully. "Did it feel good?"

Angel asked. "Playing hero?"

I didn't answer.

Angel tilted his head. "She thanked you, didn't she? But she looked at you like you were her savior."

Angel looked deeply into my eyes, "But you belong to me."

I flinched at his words—they sounded twisted and insane from a madman. A person who doesn't make sense.

I calmly swallowed hard, my heart racing at the realization that he's truly a sociopath. A real one.

I turned to him, "It unsettles you, doesn't it? When I pay attention to someone else?"

Angel was cold, but his icy green turned stormy like a frosty green spring forever out of reach.

I yanked my wrist away, "Let go."

I won't communicate with an insane man who's out of his mind, who's out of depth with this world.
