Chapter 2 - Episode 2: Awakening After Death

He starts to walk.

"How strange!" Takashi says. "This reminds me of those animes I watched."

He looks around.

"If I'm not mistaken, there's a guild around here."

He looks to his right.

"There, see?"

He enters that place.

"They're completely gigantic," he thought. "Look at that one... what kind of abs are those?"

"Sir, how can I help you?" a female voice asked.

"Ah... I...?" He froze. "I want to enlist."

"All right, come with me." She starts walking. "Here you can enter."

"Th-thank you!"

"You can open and show your status," she said.

"Ah, okay...?!"

He thought many times:

"What if I say 'open status' and it doesn't open? How embarrassing..."

"Open status," he says.

The status opened:

Race: Mage

Skills: Water Jet (Level 1)

Unique Skill: Magic Pact

Strength: 20

Has: Magic

Blood: Red

¤ Blessing: Water Goddess ¤

"Well, everything seems normal..." She looks again. "WHAT?!"

"What is it, Jene?" Another person appeared, also looking at the status. "WHAAAAT?!"

"I don't understand," Takashi says.

"Sir, can you follow me?" she asked.

"Sure!" He was nervous.

They walked to a door. There was a stylish man who, by his conclusions, was the guild owner.

"I just arrived and I already have to see this?!"

"Sir, take a look at his status." She looked at Takashi.

"Open status."

"I don't see anything special..." He looked again. "WHAT?! MAGIC PACT? BLESSING OF THE WATER GODDESS?!"

"I hadn't seen that before," Takashi says.

The guild owner bowed before him.

"Excuse me... I didn't know your importance."

"It's okay."

"Natali, could you give us some privacy so I can talk to him?"

"Of course, Mr. Kaito," she said, leaving.

They talked.

"This is interesting," said Kaito. "You really didn't know?"

"If I knew a red-blooded person couldn't have a skill like magic pact..." he thought. "Blessing of the Water Goddess... this could be good."

"Can you answer me?"

"Ah, sorry, I was thinking," Takashi said, embarrassed. "Yes, I had no idea."

"Maybe it's Goro's fault," he thought more than usual. "If I came to this world, what are the chances Milena and Tetsu also came?"

"Ah, sorry, I need to go," said Takashi. "I'll come back another day."

He left the place.

While walking on the street, he saw a crowd of people. Among all the voices shouting, he only heard one voice.

He approached to see.

"How horrible!" he said, seeing that.

A young woman with golden hair was isolated in a magical chamber. Observers murmured; some laughed disdainfully.

"Can I... get closer?" he asked the culprit.

"Sure," he said. "She's still under observation, not taken to the magical trial place yet. You can see her if you want, but for a short time."

"All right."

He entered the cell, placed his hand on the girl's face, observed her wounds, and whispered to her:

"Don't worry, I won't do anything. I'm just trying to save you."

"Why are you talking... to me?"

"I don't like seeing this," he replied. "Why are you here?"

"Because I'm different. I'm silver-blooded... considered a monster."

"But you don't look like a monster to me."

She laughed. "You're different."

"Your time is up, newbie."

"And who said I'm leaving?"

"If you don't leave, I'll be forced to use my magic."

"Then do it."

The owner struck Takashi's arm.

"You're too cocky for someone with red blood."

[Skill acquired: Blood Identifier]

"How does this work?"

"What?" he asked. "It doesn't matter."

[Do you want to activate your new skill?]

"Yes...?!"

[Skill: Blood Identifier activated]

He looked at the owner and saw...

"Silver?"

"What do you mean silver? No way..."

"I don't know if it's true, but my new skill shows blood color."

The owner looked around, frightened. Everyone was staring at him. Then, he ran away.

Everything went dark, but Takashi was still there.

"Are you cold?" he asked the girl.

"No!" she said. "Don't worry."

He took off his cloak and gave it to her.

"This might warm you up," he said. "Don't try to lie to me."

"All right."

"How can I help you?" He looked around. "A pair of pliers!"

"It doesn't work."

"Why doesn't it work?"

"They are magical chains. Only the king can save me."

"What does the king have that I don't?"

"The magic pact skill."

"I have it... but how will that free you?"

"First: that's impossible. Only the high nobility receives that skill," she said. "It can free me because the chain serves to hold someone until they ask to make a pact."

"How strange."

"I know."

"Well... how do you use it?"

"You still pretend you have that skill."

"I'm not pretending." He said: "How do you activate it?"

"You just say what you want with several words."

"Aaaaah..."

She laughed.

[Do you want to use: Magic Pact?]

"Yes."

Then, the girl began to float.

[What do you want to name your partner?]

"Akane."

[Pact: completed]

[Naming: completed]

[Release: completed]

"Th-thank you."

"You're welcome. But now you can rest. Tomorrow we leave here."

"Okay," she said. "Good night..."

"Takashi. But you can call me Kashi."

"Good night, Kashi."

"Good night."

Then, they fell asleep.

In the distance, in the castle, the king watched his messenger.

"What news do you bring me?" asked the king.

"The hut that had that monster was shut down," said the messenger.

"Why? My subjects liked it..."

"A young man has the skill to discover blood color."

"That's impossible!"

"We know. Also, someone saw him making a pact."

"Magnificent. Only the high royalty can make pacts."

"We know."

"Could he be from another kingdom?"

"On the contrary, king. He's from our lands and has red blood."

"How fascinating. Tomorrow night I want him here at the castle."

"Of course. I'll notify the guards."

"But why was the hut closed?"

"Looks like the owner was silver blood."

"That's not good..."

"If he infiltrated here, he must be a shape-shifter."

"We need to do the blood test again."

"Unfortunately, Your Majesty."

"All right, I'll arrange it," said the king. "Any more messages?"

"No, sir," he said, leaving the throne room.

"Seems another has arrived," said the king.
