Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: That’s Harsh

After witnessing Shinju unleash such a powerful jutsu, Konohamaru's entire body trembled with excitement.

If he could use that move to sneak attack his grandpa from behind, he'd definitely beat him!(Maybe even blast him into dust with a sneak attack.)

When that happened, everyone in the village would finally acknowledge him!

"I have to learn this! Please, teach me this one!"

Konohamaru's small face was flushed with excitement as he kept shaking Shinju's arm.

Shinju looked at the kid's earnest expression, thought for a moment, and nodded slightly.

Last time, after seeing him use this jutsu, the Hokage had warned him not to use it casually and definitely not to teach it to others.

But… if he taught it to the Hokage's grandson, that shouldn't really count as "teaching it to outsiders," right?

Meanwhile, back in the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi suddenly sneezed. Muttering to himself, he said,

"What's going on today? Looks like I really am getting old…"

...

Outside the village — Shinju's private training ground.

To learn Wind Release: Rasenshuriken, you had to start from the very beginning — with the Rasengan.

So Shinju began explaining the fundamentals of the Rasengan to Konohamaru — how to control chakra, the rotation, and the steps needed to form it.

"First you do this… then like this… and finally like that. That's it!"

Konohamaru stared at him, completely dumbfounded, a vacant look forming on his face.

(꒪⌓꒪)

Nani? He couldn't understand a thing!

But if it came from niichan's mouth, then it had to be an incredible jutsu!

Here, Konohamaru was listening intently to Shinju's lesson.

Meanwhile, several kilometers away, Konohamaru's personal elite instructor, Ebisu, had been searching for his whereabouts.

Just as Shinju threw out a Rasenshuriken, Ebisu, approaching the outskirts, instantly felt the massive surge of chakra and broke into a cold sweat.

A moment ago, he had seen through the Third Hokage's crystal ball that Shinju and Konohamaru were in a dense forest, most likely outside Konoha's borders.

The area beyond the village was dangerous — spies from other nations often infiltrated the Land of Fire.

Such a huge burst of chakra… could the young master be under attack?!

Gritting his teeth, Ebisu sped up his pace.

"Please be safe! And that dead-last—if you get Konohamaru-sama into trouble, I swear I'll make you pay!"

Through the forest, Ebisu's form flickered as he rushed forward.

...

In the clearing.

Thanks to Shinju's explanation, Konohamaru's face went from blank confusion to sudden realization.

Now, chakra was gathering in his palm — a small, unstable swirl beginning to form!

"Niichan, how about this! I'm picking it up fast, right?"

Konohamaru shouted excitedly.

As the grandson of the Third Hokage, with a personal instructor since childhood and the best jutsu education, his understanding of ninjutsu was far beyond most kids his age — so naturally, his learning speed should be fast.

Shinju, however, was a little surprised.

Surprised… at how bad his talent was.

The Rasengan was so simple! Just gather chakra like this, then like that…

When Shinju first understood it, he immediately formed one and smacked Yamato with it.

But Konohamaru? He had to think it over for ages, spending half a day just to produce a tiny, unstable swirl.

It didn't even have a proper shape yet!

"Konohamaru, are you really the Hokage's grandson?"

Shinju patted his thin shoulder and said meaningfully,

"Your ninjutsu talent isn't great. Honestly, it's worse than me or Naruto. If I taught this to Naruto, he'd probably pick it up faster than you."

Shinju wasn't trying to insult him — he was just telling the truth.

Inwardly, he couldn't help but sympathize with the Third Hokage.

He'd always thought that he and Naruto had poor natural talent.

But now it seemed the Third had an even less gifted grandson! At least they were in the same boat.

"Niichan, that's harsh."

Shinju shrugged. "Just being honest."

"These days, the kids in the Academy are all incredibly talented. If you don't have that kind of natural ability, you've got to work even harder than they do!"

Konohamaru nodded, half understanding, but determined.

Of course niichan only meant well!

While they were talking, Ebisu finally found them in the clearing outside the village.

When he saw Shinju seemingly teaching Konohamaru ninjutsu, Ebisu was furious!

This dead-last couldn't even get his own jutsu straight, and he dared to teach the young master?!

What if he led him astray?!

"Young master, come here at once! Don't spend time with that dead-last!"

Ebisu instantly pulled Konohamaru away from his Rasengan practice, shielding him behind his back.

"Sensei, what are you doing? I'm training with niichan! He's teaching me really well!"

Konohamaru's childish voice rang out in anger at his teacher's attitude.

Ebisu snorted.

"Young master, stop joking. What could he possibly teach you?"

"He spent his first five years in the Academy unable to perform a single proper jutsu. Only recently did he get lucky and learn the Shadow Clone Technique by chance. If you stick around him, you'll just get dumber."

As he spoke, Ebisu glanced at Shinju.

Even through his glasses, Shinju could see the cold disdain and faint mockery in Ebisu's eyes.

He'd seen that look since childhood.

At first, it felt like a mountain crushing him, making it hard to breathe.

But after years of such looks, Shinju's mind had grown stronger than ever.

"I may be a dead-last, but Konohamaru begged me to teach him."

Shinju stood his ground.

He usually avoided conflict — with no backing in Konoha, he couldn't afford to pick fights.

But his teacher's condescending attitude today really rubbed him the wrong way.

Ebisu didn't hold back. "The only reason the young master wants to learn from you is because he's young and naïve! You don't really think you're capable of teaching him, do you?"

"Besides, being allowed to teach the Hokage's grandson should be the greatest honor of your life!"

Even Konohamaru was furious now.

"Niichan is great, and his ninjutsu lessons are awesome!"

"Why does Sensei have to talk down to him like that?!"

...

At the same time — Hokage's office.

The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, looked into the crystal ball on his desk.

Inside, he could see Shinju and Ebisu facing off in the clearing outside the village.

"So Shinju and Ebisu crossed paths. I wonder how that boy will handle this."
