Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Bismarck Took the Initiative

Jason Kin had just stepped out of the divine realm when he saw Laffey crying.

He couldn't help but smile as he walked over.

"At this moment, the best thing to do is just give her wine back. That way she won't fuss with you."

He gently took the bottle from Bismarck's hand and returned it to Laffey.

With her wine in hand, Laffey instantly became obedient.

"Bismarck, you're so mean!" Laffey pouted, snatching the bottle from Jason and hugging it tightly.

"..." Bismarck sighed.

"I only wanted what's best for her. Drinking every day is unhealthy, and it can cause problems." Bismarck's voice was serious.

Jason smiled. "You're right. Drinking too much can indeed cause trouble. But you need to ease her into it, not force it. Otherwise, she'll only grow to resent you."

Hearing that, Bismarck lowered her head, a faint look of guilt flashing across her face.

"I… I'm not good at expressing feelings. I was wrong."

Jason chuckled softly. "It's not really wrong. Laffey doesn't truly dislike you, right Laffey?"

He reached out and ruffled Laffey's soft hair.

Laffey took a sip from her bottle, then smiled.

"Mm, I was only joking. I don't hate Bismarck. I just wanted my wine. Please, don't take away my little hobby!" Laffey said playfully.

Bismarck couldn't help but smile bitterly at her antics.

"Alright, I was too harsh. I won't treat you that way again. But you still need to drink less. You can't spend all day with a bottle in your arms."

Jason nodded in agreement. "Bismarck is right. Laffey, you should really work on cutting down. I don't expect you to quit entirely, but you should reduce the amount."

With both her commander and Bismarck saying the same thing, Laffey's cheeks turned pink. She nodded reluctantly.

"Then… I'll drink less. How about three bottles a day?"

Jason was speechless.

Bismarck was equally speechless.

Both of them shook their heads.

Laffey puffed her cheeks, then raised two fingers. "Two bottles then?"

Again, both Jason and Bismarck shook their heads.

"No way! One bottle isn't enough. I don't want to! You're both so mean. I'll go find Effie instead!"

Crying out dramatically, Laffey dashed off to find the one who spoiled her the most.

Jason and Bismarck looked at each other and burst into laughter. Neither of them could do anything about that little drunkard.

Their eyes met, and Bismarck's cheeks instantly flushed red. Especially when she realized Jason's gaze lingered on her. Her heart began pounding uncontrollably.

"Commander… why are you staring at me like that?" she asked nervously.

Jason grinned. "Of course I'm admiring my beautiful apostle, Miss Bismarck. I've been looking at you for days now, and somehow I never grow tired of it."

Bismarck's lips curved into a shy smile. "Commander, are you… are you serious?"

"Of course. I never lie to my followers. After all, I am a god."

"Thank you, Commander." Bismarck's voice trembled.

Then she lowered her head, her face scarlet. "I'm not good at handling emotions. But I want you to know… just having you by my side makes me happy."

Before Jason could react, she rose on tiptoe and kissed his cheek.

"Commander, is this how men and women express their feelings?" she asked softly, her usual coldness replaced by a bashful gentleness.

Jason froze. He had never expected the proud and elegant Bismarck to take the initiative.

Touching the spot where she kissed him, he smiled. Without hesitation, he pulled her into his arms.

"My beautiful Bismarck, love between men and women is not that simple. Let me teach you properly."

As he spoke, he leaned in until the tips of their noses touched.

Bismarck had never experienced anything like this. Her mind went blank, her breath caught in her throat, and she instinctively closed her eyes.

The warm spring breeze carried over the estate, the grass vivid beneath the glow of the setting sun.

A man and a woman stood together, forming a scene as breathtaking as a painting. It was calm, pure, and tender.

Although Bismarck had opened her heart, Jason didn't rush to take things further. Just as he had said before, everything needed to move step by step. Rushing would ruin it, and he couldn't bear to do that.

It was enough, for now, to share this moment.
