Chapter 25 - Part 25 of Dragon Knight ARC XXIV The Wild girl

Chapter 1: Fear of the Demoness

It had been a month since the attack of the Blood Knight.

The team was fully healed — but the scars remained, especially the deep one across Strom's chest.

Everyone was gathered at Strom's house.

Astrid: So… are you alright now?

Strom: Almost.

Wraith: Don't do that again. Don't kill yourself for others.

Sam: Bro, we were all literally dead — even Aunt Dravyss couldn't finish that guy.

Strom: He's good in combat. But if he ever makes Mom bleed, he'll die too.

Wraith: Dragon blood, right?

Strom: Yeah. Because of this pendant — I'm bound to her. By blood, by stone… by souls.

Astrid: Can we talk about something else? I don't wanna recall that freak.

Sam: Yeah, just forget the Blood Knight.

Strom: Speaking of "forget"… I really did forget something.

Wraith: What now?

Strom: Got a mystery to solve in a nearby village. I'll be back by evening.

Wraith: Don't take too long.

Strom (walking out): I'll try.

---

He made his way through the forest, reached the village, and handled the mystery — something small, but enough to make the villagers grateful.

As Strom headed home and stepped back into the forest, he stopped.

There, lying on a large rock… was a young girl, her clothes torn, her body bruised and bleeding.

She wasn't moving — but she was still breathing.

Strom stared for a moment, remembering what happened last time he brought home a strange girl — the chaos with the little elf, Helena.

Strom: Wraith's gonna kick my ass if I bring you home. Sorry, kid.

He sighed, covered the girl with his coat, and walked away.

---

Later that night, after dinner with Wraith, Strom tried to sleep.

But he couldn't.

He turned, staring at the ceiling.

Strom (whispering): Wow, idiot… you left an innocent girl to die because you're scared of your girlfriend.

The guilt hit hard. Curiosity — and conscience — won.

In the middle of the rainy night, Strom grabbed his spear and ran back toward the forest.

---

He found her in the same spot.

The girl was still there — soaked, motionless, pale as ice. Even the rain couldn't wake her.

Without thinking, Strom scooped her into his arms and carried her back through the storm.

Strom (muttering): I'm going to die. Yep… I'm definitely going to die.

He couldn't risk bringing her inside the house — not with Wraith there.

So he went to his forge, laying the girl on an empty worktable at the back.

He replaced the wet coat with a warm blanket, then stepped back.

Strom: Okay… you're safe now.

He sat down in front of the forge, spear in hand.

Something felt off — like unseen eyes watching.

If anyone tried to harm her again…

They'd find out real quick that it wasn't happening in Strom's watch.

Chapter 2: Just Some Work

The next morning, Strom woke up and went down to the forge.

The girl was awake — but the moment she saw him, she panicked and hid herself under the blanket.

Strom (softly): Hey, it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you.

No answer.

He got closer and touched the edge of the blanket — and she hissed like a wild cat.

Her sharp fangs flashed, eyes glowing light brown for a second, before she hid again.

Strom: …Wild cat girl?

He sighed, decided not to bother her, and went upstairs.

---

Inside the house, Wraith was already awake — wearing the new outfit Strom had gifted her last week.

Wraith: So? Do I look good?

Strom (half-asleep): Hot as hell.

Wraith: I don't like heat.

Strom: Fine then — cold as ice.

Wraith: Better. But I feel something strange… like someone's here with us.

Strom (half-panicking): Ahh! No, no, there's no one here!

Wraith: Strom, please. I'm a demon — I can feel any presence.

Anyway, I already prepared breakfast. Sit down, I'll bring it.

Strom sat, but as soon as she placed the food down, he grabbed a bowl and spoon and walked toward the door.

Wraith: At least eat peacefully!

Strom: Not hungry. Got some work in the forge. Bye!

Wraith (suspicious): …Okay?

She sat sharpening her sword, muttering to herself.

Wraith: I know something's off. I can feel it.

---

Meanwhile, Strom reached the forge.

The girl was still buried under the blanket.

He placed the bowl and spoon near her.

Strom: You must be hungry.

Before he could step back, a tiger suddenly leaped from the blanket — claws out.

Metal clattered, the forge echoed with a loud THUD!

Wraith (from upstairs): What happened?!

Strom (holding the tiger's mouth, panicked whisper): Nothing! Just an iron box fell. My bad!

Wraith: …Alright.

The tiger clawed his shoulder, but Strom didn't even flinch — he couldn't risk Wraith coming down.

He wrestled the creature until finally, the tiger stopped — and shimmered back into the same girl.

Both were panting — Strom leaning on the left wall, the girl crouched on the right, next to the table she'd been sleeping on.

Strom (holding his shoulder): Calm down, please.

She hissed one last time, then ducked back under the blanket.

Moments later, she peeked out, grabbed the bowl, and started eating — with her hands.

Strom: …Guess spoons are a joke to her.

He bandaged his wound quietly and glanced at her again — already asleep, curled up in the blanket.

Strom: Not that bad… but I really gotta make sure Wraith doesn't find out.

The forge glowed dimly — the only sound, the low hum of the burning furnace.

Wraith hated the heat, so she never entered when Strom worked.

And that — for now — was his only lifeline.

Chapter 3: The Best Friend

Later that evening, Strom had already covered half the forge from the inside — just enough so no one could see the girl from outside.

He sat beside her quietly.

Strom: At least tell me your name.

No answer.

Instead, the girl reached out and gently touched his injured shoulder — as if to apologize without words.

Strom (smiling): Strom. It's okay. I'm fine.

Then suddenly — a voice cracked the silence like thunder.

Wraith (outside): Strom! Who are you talking to?!

Strom (panicking): Uh—Sam! Yes, Sam!

The girl peeked from under the blanket and tried to wave her hand, but Strom quickly stopped her, whispering—

Strom: Don't! You'll get me killed!

Wraith: Then come home! What's so important you need to talk inside the forge?

Strom: I'm coming, you go first!

But before Wraith could move, another voice echoed from the distance.

Sam: Yo! What's up, Wraith? Where's Strom?

Strom (under his breath): …I'm dead.

Wraith froze and turned around—Sam and Astrid were walking up.

Wraith: Wait—Sam?

Sam: Yeah? What's wrong?

Wraith: If you're here… then who the hell is Strom talking to?!

Strom (lying horribly): Uh—it was Sam! He used teleportation! He's outside now!

Sam: Bro, teleportation hurts like hell. I would never use that until it comes to life.

Before anyone could say another word, a gust of wind blew through the forge—

Fwoosh!

The blanket slipped off—revealing the girl sitting there in Strom's forge, dressed in torn clothes, blinking at them like a confused cat.

Silence.

Pure silence.

Except for Sam—who broke into a grin like a total psycho.

Sam (grinning): OHHH MY GOD. What am I seeing?! Strom, are you cheating on Wraith?!

Strom (panicking): What?! No! I—

Sam (cutting in): What does that wild girl have that our princess doesn't, huh?! Why, Strom?! WHY?!

Wraith (blue aura rising): Strom… are you really cheating on me?

Strom: No, I'm just—

Sam (again, with fake tears): You left the royal blood… for a wild beauty! Oh, gods why!

Wraith (grabbing her sword): Enough. You're cheating on me—then DIE with her!

Strom (bolting): GOD, YOUR CHILD IS COMING!

He didn't waste a second—took off running as Wraith chased him, sword in hand.

Wraith: New girlfriend, huh?!

Strom: No! I'm just trying to help her!

Wraith: Oh, don't worry—I'll help you too!

Sam and Astrid stood back, watching the chaos unfold.

The girl, completely clueless, started clapping and laughing—thinking they were playing some kind of game.

But this wasn't a normal game.

This was the game of death. 💀

Chapter 4: The Revenge

The evening fell silent.

All four sat outside on the old bench — Strom, Wraith, Sam, and Astrid.

No one said a word.

The air was thick.

Only Wraith's eyes burned — locked on Strom like a blade ready to strike.

The girl sat near the forge, quietly playing with an iron nail on the floor, completely unaware of the tension.

Astrid (coldly): You want to say something in your defense, Strom? Or should I let Wraith give you a public execution?

Strom: Listen… I don't even know who she is. I found her bleeding, unconscious in the forest — I just decided to help her. That's all.

Wraith (gritting teeth): Is it really necessary to help everyone you find?

Sam: Yeah, bro. Helping everyone could be harmful… especially to you.

Astrid: Stop trying to play hero all the time. Don't help everyone — just kill monsters.

What if she's evil? What if you're helping a killer?

Wraith stood, her sword flashing in the low light.

She started walking toward the girl.

Wraith: Cutting the root always helps.

Strom (stepping in front of her): Wraith, please. It's not what you think.

Wraith: Then let me end it. Let me kill her.

Strom (furious): If you can't save life with your powers… then I spit on your ability!

The silence that followed was heavy.

Wraith froze — then slowly lowered her sword and sat back on the bench.

Wraith (quietly): Why do you think helping everyone will help anything?

People hate you because of this.

Strom: Hate or love — none of it matters if you can't save someone when they need you.

Astrid (smirking): Okay, hero. I'm with you.

You're right — a knight's job is to save life, not just take it.

Wraith: You too, Astrid?

Astrid: Wraith… he's never treated you like an enemy.

Humans hate demons — but he still loves you.

You really think he'd cheat on you?

Strom (grinning faintly): Thanks, Astrid.

He stood and picked up his spear.

Strom: Now… I need to repay something.

He turned toward Sam, who was peacefully eating an apple, completely unaware.

Sam (nervous): It…it was just a prank, bro.

Strom (smiling): Yep. And I'm joking right now too.

Sam (eyes wide): No—NO YOU'RE NOT FUNNY!

Strom sprinted at him. Sam bolted for his life.

The chase began, echoing through the village.

Meanwhile, the girl — Nia — watched them, clapping and laughing like a little child, thinking it was all fun.

Astrid (smiling softly): See, Wraith? She wasn't bad.

Wraith (looking away, uneasy): …I don't know, Astrid.

I can't explain it… but I feel like something bad is coming.

The laughter faded into the wind —

and for the first time since the Blood Knight's fall…

the air around the Dragon Knight felt normal again. 🌑

Chapter 5: The Examination

The next morning, all three — Strom, Sam, and Astrid — were sitting inside the house, surrounded by piles of old books.

They were trying to find clues about a tribe where people could transform into animals.

Their theory?

If the mysterious girl didn't know how to speak, she might be from a wild tribe.

---

Astrid: Seven books… and no clue.

Strom: Sixteen books… and I'm still clueless.

Sam: You guys have such slow reading skills.

Strom: How many books have you searched through, genius?

Sam: I don't know… maybe 756— no, wait— 765!

Astrid: Bookworm.

Strom: You can't be real.

Sam: Bad news, though. No clue about her at all.

While they were busy drowning in books, Wraith was playing hide and seek with the girl.

Both were laughing and running around the room.

At this point, Wraith didn't even see her as "the strange girl" anymore — just a kid who loved to play.

---

Strom: (snaps fingers) Idea

Astrid: What?

Sam: Don't tell me you just decided to check a new book category.

Strom: Nah bro....Mom!.

The pendant on Strom's chest glowed, and from it appeared Dravyss, in her human form — calm, radiant, and ancient.

Dravyss: What happened, son?

Strom: Do you know something about her? (points at the girl)

Dravyss walked up slowly and examined the girl's aura. Then she moved the girl's hair aside — and saw it.

A faint leaf mark glowing beside her ear.

Dravyss: …If I'm not wrong, then… yes. It's Nia.

Strom: You know her?

Dravyss: Of course. She's the daughter of my old friend.

Astrid: Your friend?

Dravyss: Yes. And she's not human, by the way.

Wraith: Oh come on! So our fun is over now?

Dravyss: Fine. Play for now. But tomorrow… we're taking her home.

---

Wraith: Wait—what's that purple light?

Strom: Purple light?

They turned to see a blazing violet streak in the sky — a meteor, hurtling straight toward the village.

It wasn't natural. It was summoned — the same dark technique as Strom's own Fire Strike.

BOOM!

The meteor crashed into the Great Hall of Fame, exploding like thunder.

And then — more of them followed.

---

Wraith: People will die because of this!

Dravyss: Not if I can stop it!

She transformed into her massive dragon form, her scales gleaming like blue inferno, and soared into the chaos to save lives.

Wraith, Sam, Astrid, and Strom split up, helping villagers escape from the flames —

but in the panic, they forgot about Nia.

---

Smoke. Screams. Fire raining down.

Some strong and powerful Knights in black armour ( Black Knight ) killing villagers in the chaos

Strom spotted her — standing in the middle of the burning chaos, clutching a small cat, crying.

Strom: Nia, GO! RUN!

But she was just a child. She wouldn't leave the cat.

And no knight could reach her — because Strom was already there.

He knelt, took off his pendant — the bond between him and Dravyss — and hung it around Nia's neck.

The ancient link between mother and son broke in an instant.

Strom: You better stay away from here.

He pushed Nia back. She finally understood — she had to run.

And Strom turned to face the Black Knights alone.

They came in waves, blades dripping crimson, and he cut through them one by one.

But then—

A blinding Fire Strike came crashing down on him from the sky.

BOOOOM!

Flames engulfed everything.

Far above, Dravyss froze midair — her heart skipped a beat.

The world went silent.

No sound. No breath. No movement.

---

Wraith: No… No. NO. NO!

She sprinted through the fire, calling his name — but there was no trace of him.

Only ash. Only fallen knights.

Sam and Astrid joined her, searching through the ruins.

And from a distant cliff, a tall shadow watched — his crimson eyes glowing through the smoke.

The Warlock:

You are coming back, my master…

Chapter 6: The Warlock

All three were still searching for Strom.

Villagers were running for their lives — screams echoing through the burning village.

Then Astrid saw something glowing in the ashes...

The Dragon Spear of Strom — laying on the ground, half-buried in fire.

Astrid: (voice breaking) No... Strom... please no...

(She screamed)Astrid: WRAITH!!!

Wraith and Sam rushed over — and saw the truth.

Nia was kneeling beside Strom, crying uncontrollably.

His body was burned, his armor dented badly, the dragon aura around him completely gone.

Wraith: (shaking) No... this can't be real... no, god please...

They all gathered around him, desperate to wake him.

No pulse. No breath. No sign of life.

Wraith cut her palm open — letting her blue demon blood flow, pressing it to his wounds.

But the healing didn't work.

The blood of blue demons could heal pure bodies... but Strom was human with dragon blood.

Her magic faded away — and so did all hope.

Wraith's hands trembled. Tears burned her eyes.

She rested her head on Strom's chest.

Wraith: No... Strom... please don't leave me... please...I beg you please... I'm sorry

Astrid: We failed him. Our Knight... left us. I'm sorry, Strom...

Sam: You're our leader... you can't do this to us... please wake up...

Wraith's grief twisted into rage — her broken heart turning black in seconds.

Her eyes burned red as she looked at the trembling child beside them.

Wraith: Only because of this child... my world destroyed!

She swung her blade down toward Nia's neck—

But a burning hand stopped the sword mid-swing.

Strom, half-dead, barely breathing(weakly): No... Wraith... not while I'm alive...

---

The Knight wasn't dead.

But the question was how.

No pendant meant no dragon energy.

No protection. No healing. Nothing.

Yet he still lived.

Because he was the Dragon Knight.

His dragon blood resisted unbearable heat.

His dragon-forged armor absorbed the impact.

And his body — strong beyond reason — refused to die.

But he was broken. Burned alive. Bones cracked. Barely standing.

---

Nia stood there, trembling — tears in her eyes, anger taking over.

Her brown eyes flared gold as her body began to glow.

She transformed — into a mystical tiger, roaring with pure fury.

She turned toward the cliffs.

She knew who was behind this.

The one who hurt her friends.

Sam: Nia, NO!

But she was already gone.

The others helped Strom stand, his body shaking with pain.

They dragged him away from the fire, trying to hide him from the chaos.

---

At the top of the cliff, Nia charged — but five dark chains burst from the ground, wrapping around her neck and limbs.

She screamed, thrashing — but couldn't move.

From the shadows stepped the Warlock, his twin daggers gleaming with cursed light.

He struck her mercilessly.

Cut after cut.

Stab after stab.

Until Nia, bleeding and broken, reverted to her human form and collapsed in the dirt.

The Warlock: If I can erase your memories then I can do anything....my master will return.

His ritual was simple —

Execute the Daughter of Mother Nature under the Blood Moon,

and the Demon Lord would possess the nature of Earth itself.

---

Back in the burning ruins, Dravyss finally landed.

Her pendant bond was gone, making it impossible to sense Strom clearly — but when she finally found him…

She froze.

Her mind shattered.

All she saw was her son — burned, barely breathing — and that was enough to snap her.

Her glowing blue eyes shifted — slitting into dragon pupils, her breath shaking.

She lost control.

In a single flap of her wings, she shot toward the pendant.... too fast for sound to follow.

---

At the cliff, the Warlock raised his blade to end Nia.

He didn't saw her coming.

A massive shadow burst through the storm — Dravyss, in full fury.

With lightning speed, she grabbed the Warlock mid-swing —

and ripped him apart, tearing his body in two.

Black blood spilled across the ground.

The sky trembled with her roar — a scream that echoed across the galaxy.

The strongest guardian had lost her control.

And then—

Everything went silent.

The pendant on Nia's neck began to glow brighter than ever before.

Chapter 7: The Aftermath

It's been a week since the attack of the Warlock.

Everything seemed fine now — the fires were gone, the sky was calm again.

Strom had recovered — not fully, but enough to walk with a limp.

Thanks to his dragon blood and the healing potions made by Sam, his body had healed, though his strength was still returning.

They were all living in Astrid's house now — because Strom's village was completely destroyed.

Many villagers had died. The silence of loss still haunted the air.

---

Dravyss: Are you okay, son?

Strom: Almost, mom!.

Wraith: Please... stop being a hero. If you die, I'll also die without you.

Strom: Nothing can kill me, Wraith.

Astrid: I just hope no servant of the Demon Lord attacks us again.

Strom: We can stop that — if we break his bond.

Dravyss: How do we do that?

Strom: By destroying his key.

---

All of them — Strom, Wraith, Astrid, Sam, Dravyss, and even Nia — journeyed to the Great Seal of Eternity, where the Great Sword, the 120-foot-long key to awaken the Demon Lord, was locked deep in the ground.

Dravyss landed in front of the seal, wings folding in.

The team stood before the sword, the sky rumbling above them.

Strom: Okay, guys — we'll need a lot of force to pull that thing out. There's no way one person can do this—

Before he could finish, Astrid lost her cool.

Her anger boiled over — memories of war and demons flashing through her head.

Astrid: I HATE THOSE FUCKING DEMONS!!!

She sprinted forward and, with one furious pull, yanked the entire sword out of the ground — alone.

The earth shook, dust burst in all directions.

The others just froze in disbelief.

Strom: (falling dramatically) My life... my powers... my training... all meaningless...

Sam: I'm never arguing with her again. Never.

Wraith: I can't even open a jar, and she pulled that thing like it's a stick.

Dravyss: …WTF.

Nia, of course, was clapping happily like Astrid had just won the world's biggest prize.

Astrid: (throwing the sword aside) Get the fuck away from my world!

---

Later, the team reached a mystical green forest, glowing with light and life.

Dravyss smiled — it was a place she hadn't visited in ages.

Dravyss: Yelfa! Look what I brought for you!

A glowing green light descended from the sky, surrounding Nia.

The Goddess of Earth — Mother Nature herself — Yelfa appeared.

Then, out of nowhere — THAD!!!

A loud slap.

Astrid dropped her sword, shocked.

Astrid: M-Mother Nature?!

Nia fell to the ground, rubbing her cheek, and then — memories flooded back.

Her lost powers. Her life. Her past.

Nia: (rubbing cheek) Ouch! Sorry, mom…

Yelfa: Don't you ever disappear without telling me again!

Nia: Who are they? (pointing to the group)

Yelfa: Remember her? (pointing to Dravyss)

Nia looked closer — and then her eyes widened.

She ran forward and hugged Dravyss tightly.

Nia: Aunt Dravyss! My dragon auntie!

Dravyss: So you finally remember me, huh?

Nia: Sorry — memory loss problem, haha!

They all laughed. The tension finally lifted.

---

As the team prepared to leave, Nia stopped Strom.

Nia: I know you helped me a lot. I'm alive because of you. I'm sorry you had to face all that because of me.

Strom: It's okay — no problem.

Then she kissed Strom on the cheek, right in front of Wraith.

Nia: Thank you, my Dragon Knight!

Strom: Uh… okay… thanks.

He walked away, pretending nothing happened — whistling casually.

But Wraith's eyes were sharp as blades. She said nothing… just stared.

---

Later, flying through the sky on Dravyss's back, the mood turned peaceful again.

Dravyss: When I came to this planet and started slaying monsters, I made a few friends. Yelfa was one of them.

Strom: So this is an old story then. But, uh… how do you know her? She looks so young.

Wraith gave him the death stare — because, of course, he mentioned Nia again.

Dravyss: You kids think she is 19 — but in truth, she's 19,000 years old. Her body grows only once every thousand years.

Everyone's jaw dropped.

Astrid: That's insane…

Strom: Classic ancient lore drop.

Dravyss: Last time when I saw her, she was just 3,000 years old. Meeting old friends feels good.

Astrid: And that slap — was legendary.

Strom: Classic mom move.

Dravyss: Should I use that move too?

Strom: Nah, I'm a good boy.

Wraith: No mom, he definitely needs that move.

Everyone laughed as they flew across the clouds —

the dragon's wings glowing under the sunlight, carrying the heroes back home.
