Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 Building Initial Trust

To be honest, Hiccup felt that Night Fury looked a bit like a husky in this scene.

After blowing on it, Hiccup tore off a small piece of fish and ate it while saying in Dragon Language, "Mmm~! So delicious!"

"Gulp!"

Night Fury swallowed again, its large emerald eyes fixed on the roasted fish in Hiccup's hand.

Then, Hiccup directly took out the wooden stick and handed the roasted fish to Night Fury!

However, Night Fury looked at Hiccup sideways, with some disdain and some curiosity. Seeing Hiccup hold it out for a long time, it finally decided to take a bite.

Just as Night Fury opened its mouth, Hiccup quickly pulled his hand back.

"Clack~~"

Night Fury bit at empty air, making a crisp sound as its upper and lower teeth clanged together.

This seemed to anger Night Fury. It immediately bared its teeth at Hiccup, its limbs slightly bent, adopting a posture ready to attack at any moment.

"Here!" Hiccup forcefully put the roasted fish into its teeth.

At this, Night Fury's fierce eyes instantly became adorable again. It tilted its head back and swallowed the half of the roasted fish directly.

Afterward, it licked its teeth, still wanting more. Hiccup was curious if Night Fury could taste the aroma of the roasted fish when it ate.

Then, Hiccup, imitating the animation, extended his palm. Although he knew the timing was off, Hiccup still wanted to try, just in case it worked.

As Hiccup was pondering, he suddenly felt a cool, silky sensation on his palm.

Then he saw Night Fury looking at him with a blank expression, as if full of curiosity.

Hiccup crossed his arms, assuming a thoughtful pose. Night Fury likewise imitated Hiccup, standing upright, its front paws crossed, and its right paw even mimicking Hiccup by occasionally scratching its chin.

"You're copying me!?"

Hiccup said in surprise, and Night Fury also copied Hiccup's surprised expression.

Then, Hiccup's lips curved upward into a mischievous smile, and Night Fury also followed suit.

Hiccup jumped a step to the left, and Night Fury moved in sync. Suddenly, Hiccup lay on the ground, and Night Fury also lay on the ground, looking at Hiccup with a blank expression.

Hiccup rolled on the spot, and Night Fury also rolled over, belly up.

"Since that's the case, don't blame me!" Hiccup gave a mischievous smile.

Then, in front of Night Fury, he performed a difficult street dance routine, starting with robot dance, then a spinning kick, followed by a vertical spin...

After a series of dazzling moves, Night Fury could only keep up with the initial robot dance. When it tried to learn the subsequent moves, it bounced around like a black ball.

"Achoo~~"

Its face covered in fine sand, Night Fury couldn't help but sneeze.

Hiccup said triumphantly, "Can you keep up with my pace!?"

Night Fury felt its innocent heart take a critical hit. It immediately turned around and ignored Hiccup, and as it turned, it didn't forget to sweep Hiccup with its tail.

Caught off guard, Hiccup also got a mouthful of fine sand.

Then, Night Fury, like a bat, hung upside down from a dead branch, its wings covering its eyes, seemingly not wanting to see Hiccup.

Hiccup mumbled to himself, "Has it entered cat mode!? Is it acting aloof!?"

Most cats have this common problem: when you play with them, they act aloof; when you ignore them, they stick to you, constantly trying to get your attention.

So, Hiccup wasn't in a hurry. He casually picked up a branch from the ground and started drawing.

After all, he was familiar with the plot, and Night Fury also had a habit of drawing, and he needed to develop this skill in it.

Sure enough, seeing that Hiccup hadn't come to find it for so long, driven by curiosity, Night Fury secretly peeked at what Hiccup was doing.

When it saw Hiccup drawing, it immediately moved closer out of curiosity.

Hiccup glanced at it, smiling faintly, and said in Dragon Language, "How is it!? Does it look like it!?"

Night Fury raised its proud head, looked at Hiccup sideways, then picked up a branch and began to draw Hiccup's likeness on the open ground.

The entire open ground was covered with traces drawn by Night Fury. If Hiccup stepped on a trace, Night Fury would still bare its teeth.

Then, Hiccup sat on a stone and took out the mold he had brought to compare.

Although the size wasn't too different, it still needed adjustments.

Night Fury was completely uncooperative, its tail wagging back and forth, as if teasing Hiccup with a cat toy.

"Enough! Stop!" Hiccup really couldn't keep up.

Fortunately, the data was sufficient; all that remained was to go back and make the artificial tail fin.

Thinking of this, Hiccup subconsciously glanced at his calf, then mumbled to himself, "I must use the best fireproof material!"

"If I still end up crippled knowing the plot, I might as well smash my head against a tofu block and die!"

Night Fury tilted its head and drooped its ears, looking at Hiccup with a blank expression, as if it hadn't played enough.

Hiccup gently stroked Night Fury's forehead and said in Dragon Language, "I'll come see you again tomorrow!"

With that, Hiccup turned and left. Night Fury couldn't bear for him to leave and directly blocked the path.

"Be good! I'll come again tomorrow!" As Hiccup spoke, he deliberately shook the mold in his hand.

Then he continued in Dragon Language, "When I come back tomorrow, I'll definitely be able to make you fly again!"

Upon hearing this, Night Fury's eyes lit up, its adorable large eyes widening even further, staring intently at Hiccup, as if trying to find a flaw in Hiccup's expression.

Hiccup clenched his right fist, tapped his chest twice, then pointed at Night Fury and said in Dragon Language, "Brother! Trust me!"

Night Fury also imitated Hiccup, standing upright, its right paw trying its best to come together, then it tapped its chest twice in a proper manner.

The human and the dragon seemed to have completed their promise to each other in that instant!

Night Fury was even more excited, jumping and leaping, constantly flapping its wings. Looking closely, Night Fury was still trying to imitate Hiccup's street dance moves from earlier.

Hiccup looked back once, then took the mold and quickly rushed to the Blacksmith Shop.

Although he was familiar with the plot, he didn't know when Chief Stoick would return. If that cheap dad found out there was a Night Fury that couldn't fly...

He would surely get hot-headed and stubbornly insist on killing it!

After selecting the materials, he lit the furnace fire and began to forge. Although it was his first time making a tail fin for Night Fury, he had to strive for it to be perfect on the first try!

Before that cheap dad returned, he had to race against time. Only by proving his true strength would he have a say on Berk Island in the future.

His companions' attitudes towards him were the best proof.

Thinking of this, Hiccup pulled the bellows faster, and the reddish firelight shone on Hiccup's young face...
